  • The point being money is not everything. i rather live in the hood with my own culture and people than to have do deal with these yuppie white people. Coffee houses dont impress me. I rather get my coffee of a truck. What these yuppies think its cool and class we think are overpriced bullshit.

  • wow making a hideous ugly crime filled poor city nice looking. oh man.

make a real fucking income, then live here. to live in nyc, you need money.

  • THE DOUCHING OF THE HOOD!!!!!

  • Its a condo boom! in Brooklyn

  • Its Fact so die Yuppie scum....woof!

  • looks at this shit.........do these stupid nigger fucks relize that bushwick was italian and irish befor it was ORIGINALY GENTRIFIED in the mid sixties when they did block busting and put up public houseing THATS HOW YOU CAME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND NOW ITS HOW YOU WILL BE FORCED OUT

  • I grew up in Bushwick when it was mostly Italian American and German American. Local people can no longer afford to live in Bushwick because prices are sky high due to "hipsters" who pretend to be artists. Like everyone else except themselves, I think they are the epitome of uncool. Dress alike, think alike and pretend to be in league with the poor they force out. Their campaign against wearing fur and eating meat is bullshit. I wear a mink coat to annoy them.

  • Change for the better my friends.

  • Sorry to say but Bushwick was a shit hole ridden with crime, welfare cases and drugs. You had the neighborhood for decades and you did nothing but make it worse. You did nothing improve it.

Working class neighborhoods like the one I grew up in vanish year after year. They either fall into decay or they become, dare I say it "gentrified". Given the choice I'll take yuppies and a loss of original charm over crack heads and squaller.

Williamsburg, Bushwick, Prospect Heights have all been SAVED.

  • @NYGIANTPRIDE spoken like a true eurpean imperialist that i know you are descended from

  • @Bksbest21

No I'm just descended from honest hard working Europeans that actually believe in making the place they live BETTER not worse.

All in favor of pulling your own weight and improving your environment for your children raise your hands!

The rest of you get the fuck out.

  • @NYGIANTPRIDE Saved for whom? Can anyone originally from Bushwick (like me and I'm white) afford to live there? While I agree with you to a certain extent that the influx of very poor people in the 1960's to Bushwick almost destoyed it and forced many out, the new wave of "hipsters" forcing people out isn't better.

  • @ZarahLean

Which would you prefer? Ask yourself that question.

So the hipster wanna be transplants from Nebraska are annoying... But the neighborhood is much safer and cleaner.

Which would you rather live around, crack houses or coffee houses?

Sure more people could afford to live in Bushwick before but ask yourself... Would you really want to?

  • Comment removed

  • @NYGIANTPRIDE Since I can't afford to live where the hipsters move into, it is a moot point. I could afford to stay in Bushwick when it turned into a ghetto but it was too dangerous and depressing. Either way is bad for me and my family. I guess it is also a matter of personal taste: I really can't stand the "hipster wanna be transplants from Nebraska" Thanks for your comments about mine.

  • @NYGIANTPRIDE Thiis is the problem I have with white people. I rather be in a safe neighborhood with only people of color. Fuck your coffee houses. Minorities and whites dont mix well. You have a different culture. Stay in your neighborhoods. We don't want your here. I can't stand you people.

  • @blackra4 Problem is that there are very few safe "minority" neighborhoods. Look at the facts. I don't care about race its about the quality of the people and sorry... "minority" neighborhoods are by and large shitty. So stay in a drug infested shithole if that makes you happy. Its clearly what you prefer and what you create so that's all you deserve.

Hate is a bad thing. Give peace a chance... And get a job.

  • @NYGIANTPRIDE my point is i rather live in the hood all day with my own people and culture than to mix with white people. Most of us dont want to live around them. If that was the case we would move to the suburbs. Coffee houses and yuppie styles dont impress me. They dont even interact with the community. What are they doing in Broooklyn.

  • @blackra4 Newsflash... There have been cafe's and coffee shops and all that "yuppie" stuff in Brooklyn since Brooklyn's been here. I live in Brooklyn and my neighborhood is anything but "yuppie" but guess what... We have jobs. We care about our neighborhood and what it looks like. We want a safe place for our kids to go to school and play and grow up. In other words... We're not lazy fucks. We care.

That's the point. Get a clue.

  • Too fucking bad when white Manhattan neighborhoods, like Hells Kitchen were being gentrified nobody gave a shit about us people, but now its happening to the blacks and other races everybody cries. FUCK YOU ALL MOVE LIKE WE WERE FORCED TO!

  • @nytmstr So fucking true. The middle class, WORKING CLASS "white" neighborhoods are long gone. The Irish, Italians, Jewish, etc... All had to deal with this but nobody said anything. Neighborhoods change and not usually for the better. So instead of seeing FURTHER decay we'll have to deal with Starbucks and higher rent?

    No problem.

  • @nytmstr Nobody forced whites to move, you left because you chose to not live with''dirty coloreds'' while coloreds dont have that choice we are forced out.

  • @AlizeCiz You sound so stupid because you have no idea what you are talking about. But if you doo please explain to us all what Gentrification in NYC means?

  • @AlizeCiz exactly!

  • this fucking Yuppies come to NYC to pay this crazy rent for this STUPID looking Buildings in our neighborhoods and try to bring there stupid life style with them. WE DONT WANT YOU HERE YUPPIES!!!!

  • Tell your friends to beat the yuppies over the head for no reason, and rob them for their ipods and Macbooks. If it happens enough hopefully they'll go back to Pennsyltucky where they came from.

  • @themelshow right. NYC should be all malt liquor bodegas and kennedy fried chicken joints. then it would be dominican heaven.

  • BROOKLyN All DAy BEDSTUy LiiNDEN BUSHWiiCk &&+` CyPRESS =] yah DiiG !! I FUCKiiN LOVE BROOKLyN NO STATE CANt BEAt NEW yORK :)

  • @cupcakexasiia STFU!!!!

  • i live in bushwick, on the "black side". and there is a bunch a white people moving on my block. They are the same with no kind of personality. There are 3 types of the white people that move over here. 1.Couple with kid 2.Douchebag poets/artists who wear v-necks and converse 3.Stupid white ladies who sit on stoops waiting for conversation. They are going to regret it, when a riot happens and they are gonna get FUCKED up.

  • Hopefully they do.

  • i grew up in bushwick and i'm happy about the new influx of people who are coming to the neighborhood. first off they make it nicer, they spend money, the dont cause crime. why not. I grew up with people blasting their music not caring about their neighborhood. now all of a sudden they care because different people are moving in. if the same people would have cared for their neighborhood and made it nicer maybe they wouldn't be getting pushed out..

  • thats not the point this is where they live regardless of the fact that theres crime and whatever other issues you have with the neighborhood that doesnt mean displace the people

  • so you agree with leaving people without homes?

  • i sure don't but im bothered by people who only starting to care when the shit hits the fan..

  • I grew up in the projects in Bushwick and I'm also glad to see that the neighborhood is improving. It's time to do away with the ghetto atmosphere and bring in some class. Yes, poorer people who cannot keep up with the Joneses will be displaced, but it's absurd to try to fight progress. It's good to be forced to take the responsibility to try for a better lifestyle. If you don't want to be pushed out of the neighborhood, then stay in school, get a well-paying job, and pay the rent.

  • @boricuaTex easy for you to say you projoect dwelling dirt bag! whats your rent like, 200 a month? FUCK YOU!!!

  • Hey idiot, who said I still live in the projects? I don't live there anymore because I can't afford it, despite having a well-paying job. I moved to New Jersey and miss Brooklyn, but you know what? I would rather see it go to educated clean people than to ghetto-mentality idiots like you. Maybe someday I'll go back to a clean, graffiti-free and rap-free clean Bushwick.

  • There isn't a well paying job for everybody who wants one.

  • My main issue is that all of a sudden, the "improvements" are coming to my neighborhood. Prior to the influx of new residents, the police NEVER patrolled with the regularity that they do now. It makes me feel like our lives and safety had no value. Even minor things like bike lanes are a sign of the past neglect that areas like mine faced. Sadly, its as if we didn't matter to the city and we're not in their future plans.

  • Bed Stuy....same story in my neighborhood. Brooklyn wil become the new Manhattan.

  • Bushwick and Williamsburg is filled with pussy ass bitches who wont use a gun to defend their neighborhood or principles THEY truely believe in.

You dont see hipster/transplanters moving to smith and 9th street by the thousands? Thats because red hooks keeps those fagat Missouri bitches on their tipy toes by COERCION.

  • I agree with smackitupNflipit these people suck. These yuppie hipster douchebags have zero personality and offer nothing interesting culturally. They just infest neighborhoods that have convienent public transportation and look down on the native people of the city.White working class native born New Yorkers are looked at as a curiosity,to me that just shows their arrogance. They could never understand what it is like to be "FROM" here no matter how hard they try.

  • There's actually a way to take of this and that's to rob any rich people. That will scare them away.

  • Not really. The scumbag yuppie hipsters moving into Crown Heights were getting clobbered over the head for their ipods left and right a few summers ago and that didn't stop them one bit. They're like lemmings, they just keep filing in. They're too many of them for any stick-up kids robbing them to make a difference.

  • Well, at least yall tried.

  • Notice around 1:22

the people complaining can barely read.............try helping yourself first, eh?

  • Communist propagana.

If you can't afford it---move elsewhere, or do what it takes to afford it.

This is AMERICA---land of the free, land of opportunity- go out there and get yours instead of parading around with a sign demanding free handouts.

  • That's funny you're talking about "AMERICA land of opportunity," because most of the scumbag yuppies and hipsters who are living in these overpriced apartments and condos are living off of their parents' money. You don't even know what you're talking about.

  • You're a fucking clown, you are probably a trust-fund hipster yuppie yourself. That's why you're defending these scumbags.

  • Yea i can imagine having friends and family leave because they can't afford housing. Now see if you can imagine the people you grew up with leaving their neighborhood because of all the crime that has made it dangerous to live in.Imagine losing the place you grew up in being turned into a ghetto shit hole.I'm from Ridgewood and that has turned to shit and Glendale is also dying a slow death.2 nice working class neighborhoods destroyed and plenty of others in this city just like it.

  • Don't fight it bro, you're on the losing side of a battle you can't win. Same thing is happening here in Chicago with the Humboldt Park neighborhood. It's a little like when whites fled to the suburbs when minorities where moving in. Now the script has been flipped. Funny how times change....

  • . Now sons and daughters are having a hard time living close to family because these developers are building stuff that isn't affordable to the people who have populated the area since the begining. They are forcing people out, how is that not wrong dude

  • Go to wikipedia so you can get a better understanding of the history of wash heights. I am not from their just to let you know. You seem to be a pro-white/anti-hispanic when it comes to theses issues. The bottom line is that Gentrification is fucking shit up. Just imagine that the people you grew up with, whether it be friends or family are unable to find affordable housing in the neighborhood they grew up in.

  • Well they have to look for another place to live, that's life, that's capitalism. If they went to school and had a degree they would be able to stay. Don't you think so?

  • This is directed to bourbon and cagx77.You must be the only crazy one who thinks that Wash Heights was always white middle class like you say.

  • i think the idea of gentrification is really funny. take washington heights for example. people think it's a dominican neighborhood. BULLSHIT, IT IS! washington heights was always white middle class until they moved out and the DR moved in. the only problem is, the DR never left...and now you complain that WHITES are "gentrifying"....very funny

whites are reclaiming what was already THEIRS! you bums have no rights to any neighborhood anywhere UNTIL YOU OWN SOMETHING. until then...

  • The whites that are coming back into the city are not the same working class whites who lived there before. The whites flocking here now are spoiled upper-middle class suburban brats living off of their parents. None of them have real jobs or skills, they are all "production assistants" and "graphic designers." You don't even know what you're talking about.

  • i know exactly what i'm talking about and PS - it looks like youre not exactly from the city either, huh? lol

  • Obviously you don't, if you're comparing the white people moving in here now to those who lived here before. The hipster yuppies coming here now LOOK DOWN on white NY natives.

And you believe my youtube information? LOL--I was born and raised in NYC and I'm still here asshole.

  • no one owns new york, not even YOU, you zionist fuck. i guess it's time to head back to the kibbutz, asshole.

  • I'm not even Jewish, you fucking dope. Where does it say that an individual has to enter correct information when creating a youtube account.. do you believe in Santa too?

I am white born and raised NY native, and I say that if you want to defend these scumbag yuppie hipster transplants then you must be just as fake and shallow as they are. You are probably one yourself anyway, why don't you go shop for some $9 organic yogurt in Park Slope, Jared.. LOL

  • lol!! you zionist cunt!! go beat up a palestinian kid if you're so upset.

  • lol, I'm about as Jewish as you are straight.. fucking gullible idiot. "His anonymous youtube account says Israel so he must be from Israel.." Ridiculous.

  • great. so you're a liar and a pussy too. congratulations.

    next year in bethlehem, assfuck.

  • @johnbourbon Nobody's claiming that they have rights over a neighborhood. What we're saying is that the hipster-yuppie transplants are gentrifying scumbags. And we're right.

  • @Luckilius what i'm saying is that you're a whining pussy. and i'm right.

  • @johnbourbon Nothing more pussy than a corny nasal-voiced, inbred suburban hipster-yuppie transplant from Pennsyltucky here in Brooklyn on Mommy and Daddy's dime. So you want to see "pussy," take off your messenger bag and look in the mirror, you fucking hayseed.

  • @johnbourbon Manifest destiny, is that you ? Fuck outta here. You fail to realize the massive amounts of difference between poor dominican working class immigrants and their descendants VS spoiled yuppies that call the cops on their neighbors whenever the music starts. If you're too stupid too see how scared yuppies are of ethnic native NYers, then you have no business posting your nonsense.

  • @ThirdWorldTV regarding your phrase, "poor dominican working class immigrants" - shut the fuck up. seriously, just shut the fuck up. everything else you said is just nonsense and i'm not even sure what the fuck you're referring to.

  • @johnbourbon Go back to Ohio

  • @ThirdWorldTV i've never even been to ohio. time to log off, asshole.

  • @johnbourbon First of all the majority of businesses in Washington Hts are Dominican owned. Second gentrification is the practice of real estate investors buying up property in poorer areas, renovating and marketing it toward wealthier clients...which has the effect of pushing up property values in the surrounding areas and forcing the existing population who can no longer afford it out of the area. Any claim that it belonged to whites first is BS, it belonged to Native Americans first.

  • @negatyve "native americans" arrived here from asia via the land bridge. look it up. there is no such thing as a "native american". and yes, washington heights was de-gentrified by dominicans. the whites were there first.

  • @johnbourbon Degentrified? Does inventing words further the white supremacist agenda? Fact of the matter is that NYC has historically been a series of cultural enclaves, Washington Hts being the largest Dominican community in the Northeast for generations; longer than you, I and anyone else posting here has been living. White folks voluntarily leaving the city for the suburbs 70 years ago has absolutely nothing to do with what's happening and to argue so is inherently fallacious logic.

  • @negatyve sorry to break it to you genius, "gentrification" is an invented word in and of itself, you undereducated dope. you are totally in over your head. last night i had dinner with a couple in their 60s who were born and raised in the heights and recall it being working class white, just as i said.

wow, it's almost as though you actually believe DR colonized washington heights and have some sort of birth right to it. lol!! could your head be any deeper in your ass?

  • @johnbourbon Bullshit. Washington Hts was NEVER working class white. It was a ethnic Jewish-european neighborhood before it was a Dominican neighborhood. You continue to employ ridiculous, irrelevant circular red herrings to support your argument (gentrification is a made up word [buy a dictionary], no such thing as Native Americans [take an anthropology class], ect). I'm not claiming anyone has a birthright, you clearly don't have a firm grasp on what exactly gentrification is, stay in school

  • @negatyve

gentrification is word invented by a sociologist by the name of ruth glass - look it up. "native americans" were asians that arrived via the land bridge - look it up. the irish, greek and jewish who largely populated the heights are all considered to be caucasian - look it up.

i'm sorry i have to explain all of this to you like you're a child, but you don't really seem to have even the slightest idea what you're talking about. oh well, gotta run. it's been nice educating you.

  • @negatyve Right on! Gentrification is socioeconomically racist, moreso racist, period.

  • And what happened to this supposed Brooklyn is pretty cheap talk. 2 bedrooms for 1200 I heard some go for. Can anyone tell me some info?

  • They are raising the rents to high just to move out the minorities. This is happening all over. A 1 small bed in Fort Green is now $1800. That is insane.

  • They? Who are they. The rents get raised by the market (supply and demand) basic economic theory....

  • No one is "raising the rents high just to move out the minorities," the rents are going up because the yuppie hipster scumbags will pay anything to live in Brooklyn. It's basic supply and demand.

  • I agree with that. Those rich yuppies from out of state will pay anything thing just to move here, no matter how high it is. Also the owners of these properties know that. Its all about money.

  • lol...now you know how it feels. City threw in projects into nicer areas of all the outer boroughs, inundated us with PR's & dominicans to where crime rates soared and irish & italians had to move out....now its going in reverse and its your turn to gtfo.

  • Die yuppie scum!!

  • Crime needs to go up so that these hipsters and yuppies get scared and get the fuck out!

  • Its true. Those people dont scare me. Thats what happens tho, yuppies or sub yuppies/suburbanites will leave whenever a sign of shadiness comes to the area.

  • ahhahaha this is the most anti white racist protest i have ever seen........now these lowlifes know what the italians and irish had to go through when the city put all the projects in there neighborhoods and whatched them go down the crapper back in the 40's and 50's........i hope they make it so expensive there to live that you all have to move back to puertorico and africa.....hahahaha

  • that's a little over board and racist. If you can afford to own property then stay, but if not then move to a cheaper neighborhood. I'm Puerto Rican and Italian, I own a home in my now very Jewish very safe neighborhood. Now if I get the price I want for my home when the economy is at it's peek then I will sell. But until then "they" the Rabbi's can keep knocking on my door and offer all sorts of prices for my home. It's because I own I am protected and these people show have learned a while ago

  • true, true and nothing but the true.. Amen...

  • houseing is a right? Yeah of course it is, if you "OWN IT". I give it another 4 years. Bushwick will be what williamsburg is today.

  • that is not cool.

  • not cool.. but true, no? I'm only stating the inevitable whether its just or unjust.

  • Don't jinx it though...

  • my friend lives in Brooklyn, but i still hate the place, it's the Poverty shit hole of NYC

  • I agree man, it sucks. They're stealing all the culture from NYC. First it was the Lower East Side, then Harlem, now Brooklyn. Nowhere's safe anymore. Except the Bronx lol. They're too scared to come here.

  • The bronx? The bronx has been seeing gentrification too so don't get too comfortable.

  • i find it kinda funny that there are all these people claiming they cant afford their rent yet in front of all the apartments they claim they cant afford there are brand new cars and suv's.

hmmmmm....dont buy a fucking 40,000 dollar car and then bitch you cant pay your bills.

Its called living within your means....maybe you should try it.

every single low income housing complex that i have seen always has brand new cars with thousand dollar rims parked out front. learn your priorities!

  • Lmao, at your angry rant comment! I'm pretty sure they said they couldn't afford to live in the luxury apartments that are being built now in their neighborhood. Try commenting on things you know something about instead of coming to this video to bash poor people for being pushed out of their neighborhoods.

  • HES RIGHT!!! All these welfare recipients complain about their rent being to high when you see them in the streets with name brand clothes and designer bags. It makes no sense, get an education so that in return you can get a job like the rest of us do. Life is hard...get over it. I'm a puerto rican from Williamsburg and it saddens me that my people dont want to get out of the ghetto and experience the whole other world there is out there. They make it easy for others to talk badly of us.

  • Not to mention they're evidently sitting in front of computers with high-speed internet connections. That, and they apparently have the cash to buy equipment to make and edit videos for YouTube. When my family was poor, we did without those things so that my mother could save up to send us to college. In fact, we were all working 2+ jobs. There wasn't time to sit on our asses in front of YouTube.

  • @glowinpontiac However, that's every low income housing complex you've seen, it's not the tone for every one throughout America. Plus, how do you know they're new? They could be restored for all we know or they also could be leasing the cars. The funny thing is is that you're blaming the failure to live within your means on people who live in low income housing complexes when there are people who don't live in low income housing complexes who have failed to do the same thing.

  • Blame the unholy combination of hipster/yuppie lemmings and slimy Hasidic condo developers.

The only thing that will stop it is when it stops being trendy to live in NYC and the yups follow each other back out of the city, back to the suburbs from where they streamed out of to begin with, and that's not going to happen anytime soon.
