  • suzuka is the hardest track because you turn left an right and never go straight

  • Suzuka is a great circuit. Turns 1 and 2 are really good and you can gain or lose loads of time there. The S bends after flow really well. Degner can be a right b****rd sometimes, especially if you pitch the car in wrong on entry. Spoon can be a nightmare on entry to the first corner of Spoon. 130R is great and apparently called 130R because the corner is angled at 130 degrees (even though it doesnt lol). I like Suzuka, though I haven't won a full distance race on it since Formula One 2003 lol

  • YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

  • and u need to seriously improve your racing line

  • Ha, ha yeah we know! We've usually had half a dozen beers each before we get behind the wheel. Maybe that has something to do with it :) - Max

  • i agree , u guys do

  • lol dude u are way to hard on the brakes and u had understeer thru most of the corners

  • Suzaka and Fuji are two of my favourite tracks great driving cant w8 for the 09 game and the f1 09 season btw wat game is this and what console?

  • Hi Pep and Max, always enjoy your videos!! Was surprised you guys didnt get below 1:37 on Suzuka. On my second run i got 1:36:532. Judging by the way you brake so late and get on the throttle so hard I assume TC and ABS are on. I think that playing with the steering wheel is harder than with the analogic joystick? Anyone cd clear it up?

Anyways, keep up the gd work!

    cheers

  • Mate sometimes I surprise myself as to just how SLOW I am!!! LOL. Yeah TC is cranked usually to 100% but sometimes 90% ... ABS ... dunno. I guess so. Max and I play with the brakes a bit usually with more bias to the front. I prefer the steering wheel and I find it more natural and easier than the joystick. Also it's just better for corners that have a constant radius - like turn 3 at Catalunya. In addition the wheel means I can race manual! (Pep)

  • this is for psp.

  • wot console is this on plz????

  • Ps2

  • "love 130 r mate.. errr.. spoons a bastard." haha nice one. i agree. picking the braking point for that is hard and getting the second apex

  • You got it in one Charlie! Thanks for commenting mate. - Max

  • Excellent to hear Icky Thump, THE best White Stripes song. Not bad laps either!

  • It's not just you mate, it does appear to be a fairly narrow track. I can't find anything concrete about force feedback for the PS3. There's so many rumors flying around on the net. Hopefully we'll find out in the new year? - Max

  • Gr8 lap Pep, thought u blew ur chance when you overan after the Spoon, but gr8 last sector done it for you.

I must admit it did feel a tad wierd thinking about last year and not having Suzuka on the list. Shame we have to wait till 2009 for us to see a race there again, but in fairness i hav to say i did like the Fuji track...

  • Definetly the hardest circuit to get a perfect lap on besides Monaco with its no margin for error. Is it just me or is the track pretty much all the way around way too narrow? Comparing it too onboard shots it looks that way too me. I'v heard that the Ps3 version will get a patch for ForceFeedback and dualshock but I think the old school Driving Force isn't supported at all. Am I right? I'm getting the ps3 for christmas will be a bit pissed if I cant use my wheel. oh well time to upgrade

  • I did a 1:39:7 in an MF1 on my Ps3's F1 game; and that was ringing the cars bloody neck!.

This is on carrier mode on the hardest level. The top car times are a stunning 1:33.I just can't seem to get the set-up for that circuit.Pep was more on the ragged edge than maxs' smooth drive.

  • My driving has NEVER been described as smooth before ha, ha :) No doubt about it, it's a tricky circuit to get right. The top times you mention would be flawless and thereby virtually impossible to replicate so don't be to hard on yourself! - Max

  • Cheers bud, i've gone back to medium level on career(to stop myself from having a nervous breakdown, ha ha:)

Yes sometimes i think you've got to be a bloody real F1 driver to hit some of the top times on the pro levels.

  • Pepe and max... Why didn't u tell me that u were gonna make a vid? lol i've already got the setup waiting for u mate.

  • I completly forgot to ask mate to be honest!

Dear Santa, can I please have the set up for Hockenheim for Christmas?!! Cheers mate - Max

  • will get back to you after boxing day.

  • OK Pep don't get your knickers in a twist you are definately getting better just thought you might like a wee tip(i'll shut up then)you drive like your Aussie rugby team mate!bloody good start but then crumble at the finish, sorry just couldn't resist that one,at least you didn't get beat by south africans like us pommies,KEEP DRIVING and drinking

  • Agreed with you Max, Bring Suzuka back it's had so much drama like Senna/Prost.

I did a 1:39.123 in the McLaren of Kimi on F106.

  • Not a bad time mate, keep it up. Try the Renault & see how you go! - Max

  • Excellent!! Hope you thank Santa for such an awesome present :) - Max

  • thnx

  • coooooooooool vid!

    i get a ps3 on x-mas!

  • Damn you two are getting better,i definately saw two tinnies of V.B. in the podcast so thats the trick to going fast?Pep you have to stop your bad habit of turning in too quickly if you evened out your turn in you would have got the GOLD medal for sure keep PRACTICING

  • VB IS the answer Russ me ol' chum. Pep & I owe our success to those little green tubes :)

    Max

  • Yes mate I do turn in too quickly! Oh and I also brake too late (or simply miss my braking point), run wide of too many apexes, over rev the gearbox, lack smoothness in my turn in, don't know how to set-up the car properly and generally lose concentration too much. Other than that I'm fine!!! LOL - Pep.

  • Better driving this time boys! :) Suzuka is awesome, Im pretty handy on it on F106 but the "S" turns are a real bitch. Yeah, it does look hot down there in OZ, its fookin -2 here!

  • Thanks mate! Yep, summer's here but it's been pretty wet so far. Just so long as it doesn't wash out the cricket I don't mind!! - Max

  • Well said bud!! Then again, when Australia plays cricket, the game itself is a mere formality, they win everything anyway!! : D Disregard all the technical tips and scientific pointers for getting the gold medal- we all know whats REALLY required guys.... its the FERRARI!! All the best for the festive season, and thanks for another great podcast!

  • Ha, ha thanks buddy! Must try the Ferrari soon to see if I can get a few extra thenths out of it. Merry Christmas to you too, hope Santa's good to you! - Max

  • Haha nice !! :D

  • suzukas a great track to watch f1 but its a bitch to play, at least for me. i never get below 1:39 and it pisses me off.

  • Yes, that's F1 06 alright.

There's a nice version on GT4 too, but the 130R seems to be slightly too tight on that.

Suzuka is one of the all-time greatest tracks.

P.S. Looks pretty hot in Oz right now...lucky bastards!! :-)

  • nice driving guys, this was actually one your better drives. I love Suzuka can't wait for it to come back in 2009.

BTW what game was that? F1 06?

  • Thanks buddy. It's a bit easier when we just concentrate on driving rather than commentating AND driving! Yeah, as DoctorMeatDic says, it was F1 06. - Max

  • oo awesome opening track I <3 the white stripes. Suzuka is awesome
