  • This games soundtrack.... divine. Reckon you could upload the remixed (called [enhanced] on the OST I believe) version? It used to be on youtube but it was removed. No version exists at all and I check every month.

  • This song is good, very good.

  • I just noticed, it's a book. I also thought he had a cube with him and he had some sort of telekinetic powers. Then again, considering the game this is a sequel to, not sure where that might make sense...

  • @Arc13 Forget my last sentence. Got this mixed up with another series.

  • ;n; esta muy padre :3

  • un hermoso tema gracias por el video

  • It's like sitting ontop of a hill, watching a city slowly being engulfed by a terrible explosion from a distance. Everything happening so slowly -- such great chaos shouldn't have to be seen for even a second. Your eyes cannot retreat from the loss that had eaten a whole into this once prospering city to fill the voids of those mindless monsters that want more than this world, and it's beauty..

  • @TamedShadow this game sucks

  • @CorporalNomad Why?

  • @TamedShadow Well, cause its a bad game.Check the review.I didnt even try to play it cause everyone say it sucks. You can check the gameplay at you tube

  • @CorporalNomad There is a point in time where you must realise that humans are merely influences, and that they have no constituted will over our own will.

Never let people's influence become more real than your own will.

  • @TamedShadow dude,Nier is a bad game.Have you seen the gameplay.It looks like a ps2 game

  • @CorporalNomad Appreciate the frivolous things in life, mate?

  • @TamedShadow are you serious, thats me corporal nomad

  • @CorporalNomad I meant.. Appreciate the simple things in life.

  • I saw one gameplay vid of this awhile back and forgot about it. After hearing this track and seeing the comments, I'm actually really interested to give it a shot. I get the feeling this is an incredibly dark game with tragedy written all over it...and I'm pretty drawn to that. I LOVE stories wrought with emotion :)

  • @DjShini It really is a great game. A very (very) unpolished game, mind, but there are a lot of great ideas at work. The soundtrack is pretty much my favorite soundtrack to date, and the story is brilliant. Very tragic; after beating the game, I pretty much just wanted to go to sleep and never wake up again.

But yeah, HIGHLY recommended game. If you understand Japanese, I recommend Replicant over Gestalt, but both are great and worth the money.

  • After the first playtrough your are so sad....

after the second......you just hate yourself.....

  • Wow...this is really incredible. Probably my favorite song on your list, Supra.

  • This game is definitely unappreciated

  • I'm a french canadian, and I must say this really does sound french! Amazing!

  • One of the most underrated game to come out last year. The flow of emotions in this game is astonishing, enveloped of course by one of the best soundtracks to come out in recent history! And finally : KAINE!!!!!!!

  • Had this as my ringtone for my girlfriend for a while. Beautiful and not super intrusive if I forgot to turn off the ringer for a meeting.

It's my favorite song of the game but the whole grandma scene didn't really evoke any strong emotions in me. Kaine is too prickly of a character.

  • It kind of reminds me of French and Italian. And makes me think of a made-up language that Yoko Kanno would do.

This is a beautiful song though. Guess I gotta go hunt down the OST now. And remind myself to get the game.

  • I was wondering why you uploaded this twice, but then I remembered that the first time I saw this song was in fact the youtube-guitarist 'kabukibear' arranging this for guitar and flute. I loved it then and you can't imagine how glad I am for you to include it in your (epicly awesome) list :D

  • Wow, Grandma sounds surprisingly young.

  • If u make it to 10,000 songs im pretty sure you'd have posted the whole Nier ost. On a side note the singer of this song said she broke down and cried during singing it

  • I was wondering at some point if I would see a Nier track up from you. Good to know that it's getting appreciation here as well.

  • NieR is still one of my favorite games from the last decade without a doubt.

  • You're right man, this is pretty trippy listening for a french speaker.

  • wow really? this is french? i speak french perfectly and i still didnt pick up these words.. perhaps the singer is japanese, and hence an accent? not sure.

I need sum lyrics nao! =p

  • @heyjeySigma Don't be ashamed, I'm a native french speaker and I can barely recognize a few words here and there

  • @Hyunkel33 non je ne suis pas vraiment gene.. je me demande plutot si c'etait une japonaise qui chantait ou pas... t'a un excellent anglais en passant.

  • It's more NieR! YES! YES!

Seriously, first time I bought an entire VGM OST and I have NEVER regretted it.

  • Very nice!

  • Very cool!It sound very sad to me,but still like it.

  • this was vg soundtrack of the year by a long shot. also its well worth checking out the echo tribute album, where a number of artists have done remixes to a fair few of the songs.

/watch?v=rA--BRrX_x0 is a a favourite of mine being done by one of my favourite music artists World's End Girlfriend

  • Dark Colossus Destroys all is my favourite from Nier.

  • This is actually my favorite from the OST

  • Guess now I have to play this game.

  • Such a great game, but I've owned it for almost a year now and haven't finished it because other games and obligations keep getting in the way. I plan to give it the playtime it deserves during Christmas break.

  • I can't believe it, you actually put this one track in your list, i love you.

  • I've been listening to this ost all week and then you post this?

    Are you watching me?

  • Still one of the best gaming OST's I've ever heard. Knowing what part this song actually plays in the game too makes it 10x better.

  • Pretty good game, but just letting you know, the music is the best thing about it. The gameplay is a little repetative, and feels like it could've been expanded upon, and the tutorials are annoying. (You'll see what i mean -_-) The story is very good however, but will require mutiple playthroughs to get a omniscient perspective.

Overall, it's a good game that with some minor tweaks, could've been a great game.

  • @MastaDamascus yes exactly.. just waaay too repetitive and too much going back and forth to the village.. the game world needs to be at least 2x bigger too, and the terrain textures could have been better. Still the music and characters are amazing in this game seriously

  • Despite the boring parts, this game was one of my highlights in my gaming year.

  • Unreal.

  • It is actually based on french but with such a weird accent i couldn't get much words, still a really nice song.

  • Whoa, this is an amazing track! I gotta check out this game's soundtrack.

  • Hell, yeah! I love this game's soundtrack. I'm glad to see one more song for this list.

By the way, Darky, have you heard the music that plays in NieR's DLC? They're all action-y remixes of some of the game's songs. (Song of the Ancients, Shadowlord, Emil, etc) If you haven't heard them, I highly reccommend them.

  • Oh, how convenient

Yesterday I just found someone who would trade this game with me

I'm just waiting the mail now

  • This is fuckin' awesome.

  • Temple of Drifting Sands from your list turned my head in this game's direction. Such a good soundtrack.

  • Yeah it really sounds like french, like it though

  • bam

  • As I already said, the vocal tracks in this game are made to sound like real languages. For this particular song, it's based off french. Since I understand french, it's a pretty weird feeling (you can check out #695 to hear one based off english).

This song feels quite emotional. I actually bought this game not too long ago so I'm looking forward to playing it. Temple of Drifting Sands is probably my favorite track.

  • @SupraDarky I love this song and the entire game. I wish Cavia was still around. This game was such a great game... it deserved way more then it got.

oh, and Supradarky... I have been searching for the end credit song of this game however I don't know where I can find it. Can you help out?

  • @jayofthe400 I think it's "Ashes of Dreams."

  • @Sephiko Thank you! I have been looking for it for a while!

  • @SupraDarky Prepare to be depressed.

  • @SupraDarky you sort of get the feeling you should understand the words she sings but they don't make any sense... really great song, though!

  • @SupraDarky are you saying the vocals are just uttering gibberish, because if you are, that's some pretty darn good gibberish uttering.

  • @RichardFeral6 That's just it though. The vocals are gibberish meant to be the language spoken in Nier's world. It's intentionally designed to sound like a mixture of several different languages, but I doubt it actually means anything. Don't get me wrong though, it's beautiful gibberish.

  • @SupraDarky Glad to see you finally adding Nier stuff. Probably one of my favourite OSTs. The Ultimate Weapon, The Wretched Automatons, Temple of the Drifting Sands and Repose are definitely my favourite songs on it. This particular song is great in how it's used, too. Not your average boss theme.

Hope you enjoy the game as much as I did. The more you let yourself think about the game and get immersed, the better it becomes despite so-so gameplay. Definitely one of my favourite games now.

  • @SupraDarky I bought this game a while ago and I can tell you that you will enjoy it.
