  • I don't get it.

  • He told em

  • sobel was a fagot.

  • @CrusaderDom3 He was a real person you know. Yea maybe he wasn't the greatest leader but he was a darn good drill instructor and even the E Company veterans have said that without his strict training, they may not have gotten through the war.

  • Leibgott, joseph d, sir.

  • @Aidanownz its japan (during world war 2) threw the rulez out the window. example germans rarely shot chaplens in battle lots of stories of guys going out there to bless the died or dying ally or enemy over in japan everyone was shot

  • ross brought me here

  • LOVE Liebgott's face at 0:26 : )

  • LOL'D SO HARD HERE

  • Ross

  • ROOOOSSSSS

  • ....hi.....

  • I thougt Joey was the actor?

  • @MrKalia22 that s another movie

  • Sobel: *starts to salute nixon*

Nixon: Hey were both the same rank. you don't have to salute. but at least now i can call you an ass-faced shithead without worrying about running up curahee.

  • Love Winters. Totally puts Soebel in his place.

  • @zeroonegoody Doesn't make the shit you did in WW2 any better though. No hate against you or anything, but the Japanese were fucking savage in the war.

  • That's one of my favorite scenes too. Winters is just awesome!

  • David: Well you're an ass...

  • In soviet russia

we salut the man, not the rank

  • @Nostro200 clever slut

  • @Nostro200 The missing "e" reminds me of my French class from gr 10. We'd play this "bingo" style game, and instead of the letters B-I-N-G-O, it was S-A-L-U-T (French for hello), and when you got a row, you'd yell "Salut!". Of course, even though we're Canadian, I'm the only one that actually tries to pronounce anything right, so you ended up with a bunch of teenagers yelling what sounded like "SLUT! SLUT!", which doesn't end well when you're right above the office.

  • @Nostro200 Question: Why does it take 100 Soviet Spetznaz soldiers to capture 1 pesky Chechen?? Answer: 99 to hide under desk + 1 to call KGB

  • Fun fact #2: Sobel was actually part of the Normandy Invasion before he was transferred to the airborne training school.

    Hi-yo, Silver!

  • HA!

  • I think they purpously made Sobel look bad in the series. Fun fact: Blyde, (the guy that got shot in the neck) actually lived and proceeded in his military career, in the series they say he died in '48, this is incorrect.

  • @superdogmeatmeat It's Blithe and I don't recall them mentioning anything about him post war in the series. The last time he's seen is in hospital with bandages around his face and neck.

  • @MoyVon

And at the end of the episode they say he never recovered from his wounds and died in '48.

  • @superdogmeatmeat : That was actually inaccurate. According to another book(I have quite a few about E. Co.-or was it BoB the book-Blythe fully recovered from his injuries, made a career of the Army, and died in the late 1960's.

  • Sobel... great trainer, but could not comprehend that out there on the battlefield you have to improvise, to think... theoretical knowledge he was brilliant with is far from being enough to be good field commander in war

  • ROSS !

  • So Was great at training the men but was Jewish therefore dent gain the respect

  • Sobel was a great trainer,no doubt, but,he was not a combat leader.Winters was,Winters saw his men as human,Sobel saw them as a means to and end.

  • Sobel was a bloody genius. As Nix said, there wasn't a man in Easy who wouldn't run up Currahee to prove him wrong.

  • Sobel did indeed prepare the Men of Easy for war. He had two critical flaws, however. One was that Sobel was not by any means a leader in battle and the other was that Sobel was far too competitive with his own officers. During the winter of 1943, Sobel was not adjusting well to combat training. He also tried to have Dick Winters brought up on unfounded charges on two separate occasions, which would prove to be Sobel's final undoing. He was then transferred out of Easy Company.

  • Capt. Sobel was a brilliant man, a part of being a great leader is giving your soldiers someone to hate, and he did just that. He just wasn't a great combat leader.

  • For a minute , i tought he was changing to Red Ross !!!

  • I didn't know ross joined the army..

  • three miles up, three miles down.....!!! currahee... long live captain sobel

  • can u imagine if weasy company fight now and have modern equipment that would be so scary and sobet is a prick all he care about is himsef by kisssing the higher rank ass in mock battle he as impcocpetent by gett lost and being ambush

  • Ross cannnnnn!

  • I feel sorry for the real life Sobel, from what I've read he was a hero too. People have to remember that there is some artistic license taken in the movies and tv,

  • great! :-D

  • god bless 101st airborne division

  • why did he have to be such a prick that soble .ross plays a good prick. though.

  • ha ha look at these jews w their sick stories about how wwii worked...what a pile of crap

  • AHHHH SNAPPPP

  • Major's right. Salute the rank, not the man.

  • Can't take Ross serious after he played in Friends. He's Ross

  • The producers for Band of Brothers must have hated Ross as much as the rest of world when they cast him in this role.

  • haha fuck you too Sobel!

  • Hey, I didn't know Ross fought in the second world war.

  • @MrEightsaint he didnt he was looking for dinosaur bones LOL

  • what was Malarkey up to in the motorbike scene? Was he trying to steal it and Sobel caught him?

  • what was the deal with soble? he was great in training and when it game to combat he was all beffuddled.

  • man I got to watch this series again. 100x is not enough =/

  • winters: you salute the rank not the man!

sobel: unless we are on a break

  • @sksnz

Ha Ha,It took me a while to realise what you meant at first..

    Very clever.

  • All I see in this video are some very ugly, arrogant americans. I'd rather see them being killed.

  • @YappyRaccoon Wow troll, get a life.

  • @nzd07 Take your own miserable, witless advice asshole.

  • @YappyRaccoon I'm not the one commenting on all these videos, asshole.

  • Winters loved to bugger boys

  • Rest in Peace Major Winter

  • What does he meen with; we salute the rank, not the man? can somebody explain it ? i don't get it :$

  • @blooddef Your supposed to salute your higher ranking officers.....And as it appears the captain didn't wish to salute the major as he did not like him as it seems, but the major points out how you salute the rank, not the man with the rank.

  • @blooddef Winters was the inferior of Sobel and he gave Easy Company a lot of shit and hard times when the war began, but because of his achievements Winters was promoted to major rank, while Sobel remained a captain, but Sobel still tried to treat him like before, so Winters told him a rule that Sobel himself told them when he was their superior ''we salute the rank, not the man''

  • @405mikey91

Where do you come by this information?

Everything I've read says the same story... Sobel was a great trainer of men, but a lousy field commander. Dick Winters was a superlative combat leader. His improvised attacks on fixed positions are still taught at West Point.

Can Sobel say the same? Don't think so.

  • @macconnell100 the information is from the movie itself

  • @405mikey91 Was the real Sobel as horribly ugly as the faggot in this propaganda series?

  • @YappyRaccoon wiki Herbert Sobel, you will find a picture of him

  • take that sobel you pious fuck

  • PIVOT! PIVOT!

  • @Korizmatic HAHA holy shit I spit my drink out all over my keyboard when I read your comment...

  • The real Sobel attempted suicide in the sixties by shooting himself in the head. He survived and lived the rest of his life as a vegetable in a VA hospital. He died in the early eighties. Very sad.

  • hey its ross

  • @NielsFuckingBohr That's why he was so depressed throughout Season 1 lol

  • Comment removed

  • 0:12 ... Damn He saw me

  • Kind of a douche move IMO

  • I've used that saying before.

  • I used to watch this scene over and over..

  • those dam paleontologists

  • what's ross doing back in 1945

  • @llJAFYll looking for his sandwich

  • La venganza es un plato muy dulce que se sirve en frío... Que te den Sobel...!!!

Revange is a sweet dish served cold... Get this Sobel...!!!

  • Ross got owned

  • A lot of people trash on Sobel but all the members of Easy company have said that if it wasn't for him and they way he trained them they would've never been able to endure and accomplish what they did during the war.

  • @DatPicksburghGuy i like sobel, he was a smart guy with good intentions, but this s**t is funny!

  • @DatPicksburghGuy Very true, but in combat he probably wouldn't be as useful as Winters.

  • Sobel got Pwned!

  • First: it's a movie; Second: it's only a movie, not wat really happened day by day.

So why getting angry this way?

And "who made Winters the man he is" probably had been the 20 years lived before at home, not 6 months at a camp. And neither a numb psedoofficer.

  • Comment removed

  • @TSHafek your joking right, all of that is absolutaly WRONG.

1st. it is NOT a movie, its a 10 ep mini series, 2nd. this is absalutely TRUE, this is based in the true story of easy company in the US armys 101st airborne division, and their mission in WWII Europe from Operation Overlord through V-J Day. 3rd. "who made Winters the man he is" were the men he served with for the past 5 years, wasr changes people, and being around your "brothers" will definatly change you, read up bro

  • @tucker3601 Sorry if I touched your toys. You want the others to say you're right: OK man "You' re right" but I'm not wrong when I say that your words "Based on a true story" mean that it's not possible to report every hour in a mini serie: authors and director made a selection of the main thing to show. You also must admit that actors follow a script and script authors write "adding to Truth something more" to "give colors" to the tale and avoid boring the viewers.

  • @TSHafek well u see the old men , that are reporting before one of the episodes starts ? yes , that are the men. BTW the REAL captain Winters died this year so don't say it is not true

  • @tucker3601 I think that education starts from family home and when one goes out he brings the "Tools" with him: the tools his parents gave to him . That's why I answered that way to somebody who wrote that Winters should have thanked him for having made him the man he is.

If it's really based on a true story, that easy company members trained theirself not thank to sobel but IN SPITE OF Sobel ...

  • Who made winters the man he is... SOBEL! A poor combat leader but I great drill sergeant

  • Too many intellectual scholars of history on here for my liking, and such manners. Wonderful. You can usually indentify them by the names they choose. They know who they are. PS: Sobel tried top himself by putting a pistol to his head and couldn't even get that right, paralysed and dying in nursing home several years later.

  • @neighbour666 Wut sobel are you talkin about

  • @pedarikarhu Er - Captain Sobel? "Captain Sobel! You salute the rank, not the man!" You know. That one. And it's nice to see some single-celled twat (not you) calling Winters a pile of excrement. Are you sure YOU'VE got the right guy? Please improve my knowledge of military history. I might have changed since I was a student of it (a long time ago.) Oh, never mind. It seems the idiot is a notorious fuck-witted troll - I've seen his 'work' elsewhere - as if I needed any further proof.)

  • @neighbour666 Yeah take it easy man, you sound like those aspie military freak virgins

  • @pedarikarhu Not quite sure what you mean, but I'm sure you're right. Anyway, I'm glad I can type, seeing as I'm not allowed anything sharp in this hospital for the criminally insane. :)

  • 14people here is cap.Sobel

  • Winters was a worthless brain dead pile of excrement

  • hahahahaha best!

  • There's a lot of truth to this statement. As much of a BURN moment as it was there was some respect to it, a reflection of Winter's honor.

  • I remember David Schwimmer tried to defend his character's abuse of his men in training. But it doesn't wash. According to the Easy vets, he was the least physically fit man in the company(tended to disappear during those runs he ordered). Sobel was just a nerd turned bully who couldn't live up to his self image. He failed at everything. Dick Winters reached out to him post war and found him dying alone after alienating everyone in his life, especially his children who skipped his funeral.

  • pwnd

  • thumbs up if you think he want to say

    currahee to winters

  • poetic justice

  • hes pissed cuz he sees winters is a higher rank than him when in the beginning, sobel was a higher rank

  • "WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!!!!!"

  • How many Yanks does it take to change a light bulb

  • Respect for captain sobel.

  • OWNED!.....

  • My favourite part of band of brothers.

    HE YO SILVER

  • @gusyyy23 Learn to spell numb nuts

  • @yogifalkmybitch

    Learn respect.

  • @gusyyy23 Respect a Cowardly dog like Winters NEVER

  • @yogifalkmybitch You seem to be a very disturbed person with major aggressive issues. I am not surprised since you are a part of a pathetic organisation where the members get together and pour their hatred on innocent people just to find someone to act out on. The black whole you feel in your chest when you go to sleep is not an excuse to behave like an ass. Instead you should seek help for those memories that feed your hatred towards the world. You are not helping anyone by doing this.

  • @MsMixis Christ what a mouth full i hope you remembered to take some air in Winters was a chicken shit no offence but its true

  • @yogifalkmybitch Oh, dear. You can breath an write at the same time so I must admit that was not a problem. However, you should not try this since you clearly already lost allot of brain sells. If you wonder, I can tell your lack of braincells from your inability to write, read and from the lacking of understanding that you are wrong and that you should stop behaving like an ass. You have every right to feel that Winters did wrong but you should learn how to stop being a pain in the ass.

  • @MsMixis Have you ever heard Less is More ? Think about it Mouthy i could improve your post and use a quarter of the words you jumble and throw in Come on try Your posts are the voice of the great uneducated

  • @yogifalkmybitch The nazi tells me I am uneducated, oh the irony, what would we do without it.

  • UPS...

  • Haha finally sobel gets wat he deserves

  • @NoiseMarines The biggest role of defeating Hitler was not the USA but Russia offcorse!!! every body knows thet very well..every thing turned on when Hitler attack Russia the battles of Moscow,Staljingrad and Kyrsk and many more ....in 1942 all of Europe was under the Germans,America was not in the war ,England was prepared for peace negotiations with hitler and Rommel was taken on all of north Africa!!!!!!

from every 5 germans 4 were killed by the russians not by the Usa!!!!

  • @amirturist Everyone doesn't know that. You'd be surprised how ignorant most Americans are of history not involving the US. My own world history teacher in high school thought we fought against the Soviets in WW2, and that the Eastern Front referred to the Pacific War.

  • @aluisious. Its to sad to know thet!!!! History is not Hollywood (American and Brittish movies)....

  • @aluisious Your History teacher!!!??? shame on him!!!! At least, in France we remember the D Day!

  • @amirturist I disagree, sorry. America was in war since 1941 (pearl harbor), against japan, and had begun to help england. The atlantic ocean began to be under control of the allies, and german submarines could fear the marine of usa, also england was not in negotiations with germany..... Usa seriously developped its industry. And when you say that europe was german, don't forget portugal, spain, sweden, ireland, england....

But of course german losed more people against russia than usa

  • @piouxe32 america was helping england several months before pearl harbor.

  • @joerover22 yes it's what i had said to armiturist who said that england was almost surrending against nazis in 1942. Of course no. The help had begun between us and uk just after the beginning of the war (printemps 40), but the alliance beacame official in 1941 when arived pearl harbor and also the entry in war of usa.

  • but don't forget too the fact of the different resistances against nazis in europe... resistance that people usually forget the importance in the ww2.

  • Which episode ?!

  • this situation never happen...its just on film

  • wow.. dick is a... dick. :P

  • Sobel you douchebag!!!! EABFD!!!!

  • How high can they stack shit ? Answer Winters was 5ft 8"

  • @yogifalkmybitch Malarkey's actor was like 5ft 8", but Winters's actor was more like 6ft 0" or more.

  • @yogifalkmybitch Surely you meant Sobel. Winters was a great man.

  • Comment removed

  • YES MAJOR WINTERS!

  • he mad because from the start of band of brothers winters was a lower rank that sobel. now winters in a major and sobel is a darn captain

  • R.I.P Major Richard Winter

  • if i was nixon i would have laughed my ass off

  • Thats what i call humor!

  • He goes on a break.

  • Get raped Sobel

  • @yogifalkmybitch You wana know why the allies did much better when the U.S came in? because there economy and resorces where so much larger and not to mention Europe did not expspeact another world war and you got oss off our guard. Just because Germany did well does not mean you are the good guys. Killing inocent civillians, greed, racist hate and stupitity is what the Nazi party is and allways have been.

  • @TheIcelandicPatriot Well said! World War 2 was a shining moment in human history when people all around the world joined together to fight evil! Teamwork was why we all succeeded- we needed each other, and despite some minor squabbling (not just between nations, but within nations, as it's human nature, especially with big personalities), we saw an amazing ability for nations to truly cooperate and accomplish something massive.

  • @RogCBrand Your words are well said indeed sir. Nice to find another man that actually knows about brothership during war not to mention history itself.

  • @TheIcelandicPatriot Thank you!

    :D

  • @yogifalkmybitch Comedy? i could say the same about your racist coments.

  • yogifalkmybitch's last name must be "Sobel"

What a worthless, braindead pile of cockroach excrement!

  • @TheLordObamessiah

Dude if it wasn't for Captain Sobel's harsh training then there wouldnt be a story about the 501 because most would be dead.

  • @TheRealSaboteur And Hitler pulled Germany out of the Great Depression, and did a lot of good for the German people who were in even worse shape than the American people in the Depression.

But just because a horrible person's actions lead to some good, doesn't change the fact that they're a horrible person.

  • @TheLordObamessiah

true but I still stand my fact even though yours is good to

  • @TheLordObamessiah Your tired old nagging and pro-obama gay name do nothing to help anyone.

  • @TheRealSaboteur not true

  • @TheRealSaboteur

That is all well and good but training is no substitute for real action and Sobel pissed down his leg during "live" exercises. Major Winters was fully capable of leading Easy Company and it was proven in battle.
