  • anyone got a 6v71

  • We don't have a 6v71 here at ARI. It seems that there are lots of those out there in older Diesel pusher buses and the like. Have you "googled" 6-71?

  • ok there were a lot of then in use in NZ years back in loggers and other equipment work on them in the workshop .

  • Right. but I only knows in the 71 series the 6V71, 8V71 and the 12V71, the 71 series is a big and powerfull than other detroit diesel motors, an the sound is wonderfull. greetings

  • I work in Detroit Diesel - Mtu - Allison Chile.

for many years, I never see that engine....Greetings from Chile South America

  • Apparently only 935 of these were made during the mid 1930s. There are lots of 2-71 and higher cylinder numbers in the 71 series. The 1-71 is truly a rare engine in Detroit Diesel's history.

  • cuantos hp have ?

  • 15 HP and 10 KVA generator

  • The period music is cool, but I'd like to hear the engine! How 'bout posting video of startup and running? I've seen/heard hundreds of 'screamin' jimmies, but never a 1-banger...

  • I will look for my original video and see if I can delete the music sound track.

  • I bet it's no surprise that the 1-71 was not that common elsewhere.
