Speaking for myself, I believe the Britiah parliament is capable of making the laws we need in Britain and therefore a pan european parliament with a pan european executive (the commission) is a waste of time and money.

From the European Commission, students have a right to be funded!

An Independent Scotland would have fiscal autonomy (may even get that before Independence), and have control over her defense and foreign affairs instead of it being a reserved matter for Westminster.

Being in the EU will allow Scotland to have a proper economic and political partnership with other members of the EU.

Unfortunately I think that to join a major party means to "tow the party line" and hence, the influence one might wish them to have is greatly diminished, or misdirected in favour of the major party's agenda. I think the "system" is designed that way specifically to ensure only the "yes men" get the "good seats".

June is the elections for the European Parliament. Members are elected via proportional representation meaning that seats are awarded proportionally to votes. Hence, no vote is wasted.

I'm a Eurosceptic Conservative but stop short of total withdrawal, so can't vote or UKIP. We need a European Union as it was originally intended as an intergovernental economic union, not a supranational body which is what it's developing (or has developed into.)
