  • it's hard to see someone so icon get old its not that being old is bad its just strange! i'll feel the same way when meryl streep gets that age

  • Although I liked this film, the Cary Grant/Deborah Kerr version will always be my favorite. Ms. Hepburn tells a funny story in her memoir, "Me", about all that went into taking this role and being asked to swear.

  • @}~~}~~

  • Thanks a lot!!!!!

  • Too far, a remake of a remake!! Not a good idea!

  • Julie... I will always love you. I will always pray that you'll come back. And until you do I will sing and play this song. I love you sweetheart.

  • i like it better than the previous ones...

    this version is more charming...:)

  • As far as I can tell this is only the 2nd time Katherine Hepburn played the piano in a movie, or anywhere else for that matter. She could play very well as can be seen in the movie "Song of Love", where she played the concert pianist Clara Schumann & wife of Robert Schumann. Why she didn't play in public I'll never understand. Our loss.

  • Lovely scene, lovely music~!

I tried the piano solo with my version. Click the video response~ By the way, you can find several more Ennio Morricone in my box~

  • I never understood why this movie was received so poorly on its original theatrical release - I loved it, with the standouts for me being this scene and the incredible Ennio Morricone score. My only gripe with the movie was that I was singing the Campbell's soup advert for ages after the first time I saw it (anyone else who has seen it fully will know what I mean...)

  • Ms. Hepburn is the closest that movies have to royalty. This woman has transcended the screen for 60 years and has left behind a legacy which is impossible to surpass. Although we have great actresses today, like Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett (to name but two) - it's very hard nowadays to achieve what Hepburn has.

It's like a rock band nowadays hoping to surpass the Beatles :)

Does anyone know if I would be able to get "Love Affair" on a Region 2 DVD? All i find is Region 1...

  • Katharine: the best there was, the best there will ever be. God bless her soul!

  • bless, kate looks so old

  • I think Kate Hepburn is the greatest actress who EVER lived.

  • so beautiful ...

the last movie of Katharine Hepburn ... she was great ...

  • does anyone know the title of the song she's playing?

  • yes, have seen them here. I recommend everyone here seek out the original on Netflix etc.

  • This one can't hold a candle to the real version made in 1939. That one is the real champ. Do look for it.

  • haha I also have some clips of real version in 1939 : ) Do look for mine ~

  • there's a remake in 1959 with cary grant and deborah kerr

  • i mean 1957

  • i love this song :'(

  • is this a remake of An Affair to Remember?

  • yes it is : ) An Affair to Remember was also a remade version of Love Affair 1939 !

  • Warren still looked so young here. He and Annette were already married when they made or was it after?

  • They had been married since movie 'Bugsy' which also starred Annette and Warren : ) !

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL FILM

    lovely.

although, I heard that Annette said that Kate wasn't so nice to her?? Anyone hear this?

Anyhow, both Beatty and Bening glowed in this film. A film celebrating the innocence of film making

  • has anyone posted the full movie? I love this movie, please send me the link if you know the posting

  • One of the most beautiful films in film-history. Catherine Hepburn is nearly 90 in this guest-appearence. Warren Beatty is a really talented film maker

  • whats the title of this song????

  • Does anyone has the full version of this song? Please....it's really beautiful. I love it! or does anyone know from where i can download it? Or what is its name?

  • I bought the LOVE AFFAIR soundtrack on CD, and it contains TEN versions of the song, including what you hear right now, as well as the entire piano solo, which is only about 30-45 seconds longer than what you hear in this clip before the clock rings. The DVD has no bonus features at all, but the movie is just so beautiful, and so is the music and the scenery. Also, in 2 brief scenes in the movie, you will catch speaking parts by dance diva Taylor Dayne. Check it out!

  • As a musician, I've always believed that Meryl Streep was the equal of Whitney Houston / Aretha Franklin in film.

    Katharine Hepburn was Ella Fitzgerald's.

I know you get the point. =D

  • I always play this song whenever I'm sad....somehow it gives me hope that everything will be fine.....

  • how old was she? 87-88?

  • I much prefer the original Love Affair, but I really love Katharine Hepburn.

  • Pure magic! Katharine last movie, she look frail but sill got the aura of a star! She retire with dignity, not like some others stars who end their career in horror movies...

  • Also, you might want to check out Little Women, Kate's version (1933); Morning Glory( same year); Alice Adams( 1935); Stage Door(1937); Bringing Up Baby( 1938); Holiday( same year); Woman Of The Year( 1942); Adam's Rib ( 1949); Summertime( 1955); Guess Who's Coming To Dinner( 1967); The Trojan Women( 1970); On Golden Pond ( 1981); Rooster Cogburn( 1975) to name a few.

  • Katharine Hepburn's final screen appearance is a treasure to behold. Nothing against Annette Bening, but the film doesn't really have heart until Kate enters. And, unlike what Beatty wanted, people saw Love Affair to see Kate, not him. Poignant, honest, and strong. I miss Kate so much. It helps to know she is my guardian angel.

  • omg .. your comment blew me away ... thanx for your lovely and amazing comment : )

  • you're welcome. How many of Kate's movies have you seen? I'd like to recommend you a few.

  • one of my father's hobbies is collecting classic movies ~ so I've seen some of her movies such as.. African queen?(i'm not sure ;o;), Philadelphia story and the lion in the winter ! and.. I was really touched by her powerful and truthful acting... I cried at this scene because I couldn't help thinking of her movies I'd already seen .. I should've known her earlier !!!!

  • The African Queen- one of her best works

The Philadelphia Story- one of my personal favorites

The Lion In Winter- my favorite Kate movie

  • Sweet. Warren wooed and begged Kate the Great to do this scene and I'm glad he did. A very sweet finale to her long and celebrated film career. I only wish I could have given her a hug like Annette did in this scene. There are no actresses to replace her.

  • I am in love with this music and movie.
