According to Caitlin O'Heaney (the original Snow), the producers thought she was too much like Snow White. The second Snow wasn't bad, but I preferred Caitlin- she had that doe-eyed, innocence to her portrayal, that Snow needed.

sigh good old days. tx for putting this up. i still preferred the original "snow" cos she was prettier. u cud see prince charming genuinely liking her, and u cn see he doesnt really like this new snow

Yeah, first Snow got the axe because she resembled Disney's Snow too much. *sigh* This show should have done <so> much better!

Oh yeah, that's <why> they cast her. But they didn't realize Disney was going to put up such a fuss about it. The pilot episode had references to the original movie in dialog and costumes. All that had to be changed when Disney stepped in.

The first Snow White's contract was not renewed because, among other things, she was a pain to work with. This is what Paul Winfield told me (he played the Magic Mirror). The show did not have problems with Disney, they were even allowed to license the "Someday My Prince Will Come" song in season 2.

This is news to me. I don't doubt it, but I remember an article where the Disney people sat down with the sitcom people and hammered out an agreement for allowing the show to continue. The costume from the first episode had to go and references to the movie were stopped. The joke was that at one point the sitcom people referred to "Snow" as in "Snow and the prince do this" or "Snow and her mother do that" and the lawyer got agast and said; "'Snow?' at Disney we refer to her as 'Miss White'!"
