Anyway recently I read that in major european cities (Paris, London, Rome, Berlin, Madrid etc...) on average, everyday between 1 and 3 people are infected with HIV and almost half of them discover that after more than one year. Also, the number of HIV positive people in Europe in the last six years has doubles (Thanks also to the EU open border policy that has seen millions of eastern europeans heading west).

We later discovered that my girlfriend got HIV from his last boyfriend before me. We informed the guy, he tested and his life was ruined too. Now, my girlfriend is not lesbian and she has never used drugs. His former boyfriend is not gay and has never used drugs.

My girlfriend is hiv-positive. She discovered it when we had already started to have sex (unprotected sometimes). Now, don't ask me how it is possible, but I didn't get the virus. We stopped having sex and I did the test 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 12 months later and the result was always negative (experts say that when you do the test three months after the result is 100% sure but I wanted to be 110% sure). My aunt passed away from AIDS in 1998. I was only 13 at the time, and it was very hard to see her that way. She was pale as a ghost, extremely thin, could barely speak, let alone open her eyes the last time I seen her alive. It was heart wrenching, and terrifying at the same time. I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for people with HIV/AIDS. I just wish there was more out there to help them.

Well I was diagnosed HIV+ when I was rushed to the Hospital for a bad fever. Once I told the doctors I was gay (even though I don't look it) BOOM! They told me I was HIV+ the next day my appendix ruptured! So my symptoms were from Appendicitis not HIV! As being diagnosed with HIV i started the meds and....there went my health. Fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, etc I started to open my mind and looked up natural meds. Now that I stopped the pharmacetial meds now I'm healthy and well!

HIV is a serious problem. There is no cure. There are treatments which extend life, but they have side effects and are not pleasant. Prevention is the key. Please do all you can to protect yourself.

You're totally right about the fact that we can't be displacement about drug abuse and STDs because there are lots of diseases which can totally ruin your life. But HIV isn't one of them.
However, when you say "I've seen what AIDS can do" what you really mean is "I've seen what the drugs given to AIDS patients can do". Please be open minded when you're reading about so-called studies that "prove" the orthodoxy. There isn't a single study that has credit in serious scientific debate.

True the drugs themselves have side effects that can hurt you. For example my Friend Steve is alive despite infection from a virulent strain of HIV. But his internal organs or being destroyed by the very drugs given to him to keep him alive despite the HIV. Cruel really. Now, if these are the data, don't you think that HIV might become very soon an epidemic diseas in Europe? I mean, if everyday three guys in Paris contract HIV and have unprotected six for one year or ore before discovering their status and if in countries like France or Italy every year there are 4000 new HIV-Positive people, let alone Eastern Europe, shouldn't the media start talking more about this? It the trend goes on like this, by 2030, between 5% and 10% of europeans will be infected.

Anyway recently I read that in major european cities (Paris, London, Rome, Berlin, Madrid etc...) on average, everyday between 1 and 3 people are infected with HIV and almost half of them discover that after more than one year. Also, the number of HIV positive people in Europe in the last six years has doubles (Thanks also to the EU open border policy that has seen millions of eastern europeans heading west).

i'm really stoked that someone is bringing this up. i'm a lesbian in high school, and i have a lot of gay male friends (we tend to stick together and try and help each other out.) it's true, a lot of people don't fear AIDS anymore. i'm excited that treatment has improved, but i'm worried that most young gay men have forgotten the past. i don't want to reawaken fear and homophobia; i just want people to be more aware of the problem. hopefully this will be the beginning of an awareness movement.

As for me, again, I consider myself to be a living miracle. I must have unprotected sex with my girlfriend at least 10 times before she discovered she was HIV positive because several times we didn't have condoms. Nevertheless, God spared me. Caesar: Your g/friend's HIV+ test result was a STUPID, SILLY, TOTALLY INACCURATE HIV antibody test, so if she tested positive, GREAT!! CELEBRATE, because it means IMMUNITY to the infection ... We later discovered that my girlfriend got HIV from his last boyfriend before me. We informed the guy, he tested and his life was ruined too. Now, my girlfriend is not lesbian and she has never used drugs. His former boyfriend is not gay and has never used drugs.

Of course we weren't telling each other "I don't care about you, I care only about me being alright" but we could both understand that was the case. As a matter of fact, when I did the third test (the one considered to be trustworthy) and the result was NEGATIVE, I felt great and I wanted to go out and party all night long (which of course I couldn't do and I didn't) but I'm sure she didn't rejoice. I'm sure she wanted me to be HIV positive too and suffer with her.

I'm still with this girlfriend. First because I care about her, second because It would have been very selfish of me to leave her in that moment. Nevertheless, the true thing that I learnt after that damn year is this: EVEN THOUGH WE TRY SO HARD TO LOOK GENEROUS, WE ARE INDEED SELFISH. After we discovered she had HIV, I was only thinking about doing several test and see if I was infected. She was only thinking about understanding if there was some possibility for the test she did being wrong.

My girlfriend is hiv-positive. She discovered it when we had already started to have sex (unprotected sometimes). Now, don't ask me how it is possible, but I didn't get the virus. We stopped having sex and I did the test 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 12 months later and the result was always negative (experts say that when you do the test three months after the result is 100% sure but I wanted to be 110% sure). I don't believe in miracles but this really looks like one of them.

I think your video was terrific. It is so true that the fear of HIV/AIDS has lost its sting. Especially now with these (agghrrr) HIV->AIDS deniers - I think they are incredibly dangerous. If people start listening to them they will stop being safe because they will believe that there is no virus or that the virus doesn't cause AIDS.

Watching MTV and VHI gives you AIDS. All there shows are mostly about sex sex sex and how much fun it is. But they never give a show about AIDS and how one can get it. Mostly all the viewers are teens-(kids) and 20-30 something. Sad :(

I made this video so people could share what's going on or has gone on in their lives surrounding HIV. Maybe this video could help even just one person and that would be GREAT. And while it is my sincere hope that "homos" seriously consider protection. Your comment strikes me as rather base. But hey maybe that's the best you can do to contribute, so thanks for the effort!

I am not some right wing nut who thinks homos are sinful. I do think the behaviour is very nasty. An anus was made for one thing and one thing only. I think you would agree with that.
All that said, if you know AIDS is transmitted through anal tears and semen, if you elect to not wear a rubber you get what you deserve. I have the same sympathy for some that goes through a windshield by not wearing their seatbelt.

My aunt passed away from AIDS in 1998. I was only 13 at the time, and it was very hard to see her that way. She was pale as a ghost, extremely thin, could barely speak, let alone open her eyes the last time I seen her alive. It was heart wrenching, and terrifying at the same time. I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for people with HIV/AIDS. I just wish there was more out there to help them.
