If anyone can get hold of sleek products, sleek one is very comparable to both of these powders and a fraction of the cost, its super fine and suitable for all skin colours x
@pre2prodance Setting powder is for actually setting your foundation, to make sure it doesnt go anywhere... atleast in the case of liquid foundation, which is what I use. It helps make your skin look a little more flawless.
i hav this powder but rite now i blot it on with a sponge whn the mac rep app it the brush she used wiped away my concealor instead of sitting on top of it---wat brush do u use??
I use the PREP andPRIME finishing powder every day. what Ido after I finish my makep application is I take a "small' concealer brush dip it into the PREP and PRIME powder tap (access off) and I dust/pat it gently under my eyes to set the concealer (its so annoying to do your concealer and seconds later its already creased vanished where the fine lines are before its set, because you look down at times while applying make up). This helps t fix that. Then I take a powder brush swirl, tap,& apply!
laura, i use liquid foundation and then a powder foundation on top of it. can i use the mac pro invisible powder on top of that, or would that be too much product?
hey girl, just wondering if this would be okay to use as a setting powder for concealer? i like to put foundation, then concealer, but don't yet have a setting powder for it. what is your opinion?
Actually, for dark chocolate caramel skin there is difference between the two. The pro set powder looks ashy; whereas the finishing powder looks very natural.
where can i find the set powder? they got it on the pro website but its only 8 grams. do i have to go to the store or can i get it online bigger size?
my MA said that the prep and prime transparent finishing power gives a more, hydro-luminous affect to your skin lol but i'm not sure anymore. lol loved this review/comparison Laura
thank you for making a comparison! i asked my mac ma and she told me that the transparent powder was a lot better than the setting powder but deep down i knew it was really the same! lol.
I love the Prep Prime Powder. I dont wear foundation but for me, it seems like it makes my pores look smaller. The only thing I hate is that once you get the product on the sifter it doesnt stop coming out! So now my sifter is full of product =(.
I've also been waiting for someone to do this comparison, so thanks Laura. I always love your reviews, they are so honest and complete. I personally can't wait to see what you get from the next couple of upcoming MAC collections. Have a wonderful day girl.
We of course can agree to disagree. At 33 years old, it definitely "erases" my fine lines and last longer on my face as compared to the set powder. Everyone is different though.

if there 100% silica, there will be no difference.
silica absorbs oils.
makeupforever HD setting powder is the same as the mac finishing powder.
