Imagine when we see living organisms with those rays that see heat, the most warm parts are seen lighter when cooler are seen darker. Well infra-red has its own way of "seeing" things.

P.S. brown eyes appear white in infra-red while blue eyes appear almost black!

There are no rays that see heat. But heat radiates infrared light, which a special camera can see. But infrared heat radiation is at a lower wavelength than infrared light used for normal infrared cameras.

In this scene, the room is lit up by infrared light, and filmed with a camera that can see this light.
