Yes you could just deselect some startup or delete them but there are some applications that automatically put it back.

you dont have to delete your startup proggrams, just type in "MSconfig" into run go to startup and uncheck the boxes for the programs that you dont want to startup.

Your monitor doesn't support 75 like mine. Some LCDs do and some don't.

CRT monitors have much higher refresh rates though.
