I never really understood, why did Anju bite Maki? Was it just to highlight the difference between vampires and people, or perhaps to make Karin see that she would do that to Usui-kun if she lost it? Hmm...
As for your question, I wondered that for quiet some time as well. I believe Anju's goal in biting Maki was to show Karin how scary being a "real" vampire would be for her, and she was trying to convince Karin of this, before Karin found out that Elda found a way to make her become a full vampire (since Anju found out and got a note about it before Karin did).
... And also because that Maki was jealous with Karin because Winner-kun liked Karin and Maki liked Winner-kun, (a big love triangle, basically. Anyways, Anju's blood preference is jealousy.. And then I think she got mad with power and showed off to Karin..
@ShapeshiftingVampire I'm aware of this. I'm just saying Anju picked Maki in particular because biting one of Karin's friends as opposed to someone random who had jealousy in them wouldn't have had an impact on Karin -- which was her goal.
It was very good, but a bit too short. If it had continued I might have cried a bit. Thank you!
