Couldn't disagree with you more. They have grown as musicians and their last few albums are all super original. Going backwards... "Here to Fall", "Mr. Tough", "Little Eyes"...come on. If anything the Barnaby days were from when they could barely play but they thought music was a fun thing to do. I still think Electro-Pura is their best but I just saw them and they were amazing. Ira told me after the show about how much fun they have been having and it shows.

I love what this group does with vocals. Here we have the song "Mr. Tough" employing twin falsetto voices. Who does that, I mean really? Check out the Bop-bop-bah-dahhs on the song "You Can Have It All". Again, who's doing that now? I also like that they can have a LOUD quiet sound, and a QUIET loud sound. It's purely American sturm and drang and doo-wop. I LOVE Yo La Tengo.
