Now that Cuttie is out of the show, I could easily picture Rowan being brought in for a season or two as the new hospital director who is every bit as arrogant and obnoxious as house-complete with the two of them having some back and forth's like in the Blackadder days.
@patrickcorliss Storyline wise, House went back on the pills and she dumped him. Reality-wise, Lisa Edlestein just announced that she was done with the show and was moving on to other things. Personally, I suspect money probably had something to do with it.
@flonkas Please, look at the other comments for a couple of seconds, maybe a minute, then look at yours
If everything is functioning you might see that they say quite the opposite of your statement (aside from the Hugh Laurie comments)
Now in conclusion this means that British comedy Doesn't suck in general, it just means that you might prefer the more obvious jokes coming from american shows like family guy or Simpsons
(that last line is guess work, feel free to correct me)
@Hiltsje1 It's from Blackadder the Third, episode: Amy and Amiability. (Just thinking about the squirrels later in the episode is making me convulse with laughter!)
I think you're right about the Jim Carey and Atkinson comparison. I find them both annoying in their most OTT zany roles but they both excel when their more subtle roles.
I think dont think anybody could forseen that this man playing dimwit Geroge where to become one of our times biggest sexsymbols. He truly gets better with time Hugh and well I wouldnt mind having a look at his bedrom ceiling....
For me Hugh is a British comedian primarily, not a gloomy actor from some American series. I always loved him as Bertie Wooster, as Prince George, as part of Fry & Laurie duo, not as House. I have to say that I'm not a fan of Dr.House mainly because this series made Hugh famous among people who don't care about British comedy and comedians and just watch trendy things on TV.
Tally ho, my fine saucy young trollop! Trip along here with all your cash and some naughty night attire, and you'll be staring at my bedroom ceiling from now until Christmas, you lucky tart! Yours, with the deepest respect etc. Signed, George. P.S. Woof, woof!

Oh, Black Adder was one of the first things I saw Atkinson in, though never wathed it (I was quite little at time).
I loved Mr. Bean and realized Atkinson probably has more roles after I saw his few cameo apeparances in differnet comedies.
Found BlackAdder - now I think it is his best work.
Love J.English.
Even Rowans comedy theatre persormances are awesome :)
