I saw them both many years ago in Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Earnest' here in London and they were simply magnificent. Sadly missed from our screens.
Incredible talent and sadly missed by all who trekked miles to see them perform. Faultless, matchless ... not drag artists ... not stand-up comedians ... audio-visual imagery artistes of spectacular talent never to be recreated I fear.

This is simply wonderful. On the continent is no entertainer who could possibly do this without getting vulgar or butch. Both ladies are really a delight !
A wonderful remembrance of splendid talents, musical and comic, with faultless timing - as with the fan business - and still doing full justice to composers and librettists, too! I think the audience must have been entirely charmed!!?
When i was a kid these two wonders always seemed to be on tv. I was strangely curious . They popped into my head today and look... Glorious Youtube. All i can say is Pat Routledge owes someone ALOT of money. Bless you for this.
The first time I saw Hinge and Bracket (around 1977), they were performing the Duet for Two Cats by Rossini, does anyone have this to upload? I have the audio track, but would love to see the video again.
I agree with all the comments. A wonderful opportunity to live again the magic that was Hinge and Bracket. I was fortunate to see them live on several occasions and they actually seemed to 'age' as time went by. A wonderful act sadly missed.
love it

Impersonating a woman is one thing.
Impersonating a woman and singing at the same time whilst still sounding like a woman is something else.
Impersonating a woman and singing in tune and in harmony with someone else doing the same thing shows tremendous skill...

I took my parents to see them in Peterborough in 1994, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I for one, never stopped laughing.

Still a unique and wonderful illusion. Greatly missed and wonderfully talented. Seems so rare in today's 'celebrity' world.
