to the guys putting down the gradall stfu plz...a gradall is mobile and can be on station fasterand cheaper then a track-ho as it doesn't need a low bed to haul it there. it can also work on a public street with out ripping up all the pavement the it rolls around on and in most cases a gradall is over head power line friendly as it reaches strait out rather than up and away like a track-ho..
Quick question, how is this better than an excavator or a dozer??? Seems like a pretty pointless contraption to me! Also loving the classic 'fat ass' opporator!! Who ate all the pies!?!
yes, he is an amateur. i run a gradall xl 4100 five days a week, and you can tell hes an amateur by the pitch he has on the blade of the bucket. hes not using the blade to level it out, but rather the back side of the bucket.
you can tell hes an amateur or he wouldn't be wasting time "emptying" a bucket with 5kg of gravel in it, you would just move 3/4 of a bucket width over so you have the level to follow then take another pull its not rocket science. ps yes im a rubber duck operator and thats what your looking at or a wheeled excavator if your a nerd.
Everybody has to learn,, I like my old girls, more to slow to be messing around like that. I know an operator who can do 90% of things as well and quick on my 1953 then anyone can on any machine. I love gradalls cause your slow and in control, its when you mess up that costs time.
90%? can he work in bad ground?, place rock armour? dig out of the back of road wagons?, dig rock? or load rocks? or dig trenches?, use trench boxes?, pour concrete?, pull/sink sheet piles?, dig coffadams?, lift objects in and out of deep excavations?, work with a hammer?,hay make material?, pull batters?, top soil batters? (that he cant reach the top of), load forward tipping dumpers over the back?, reach over harris fencing or any obstacle? I think your exaggerating with the 90%.. just a bit!
Awesome machine wish I had one for many of the jobs I've done in the past.
