that crossover of his, and how fast he would get to the basket was just amazing, i don't think any player had an explosive first step like grant hill in his prime-he wud also have been top 3 of all time with triple doubles if he remained healthy..one of the greatest regardless..
One of the best to ever do it. You will also notice that he very rarely talked junk after catching someone with a good dunk. That #1 dunk on Alonzo Mourning should have been rewind to the play before that on the other end of the court. Alonzo had gotten a nice dunk and was talking trash to Grant Hill. One last note... I'm sure there are a lot more than 11 highlight dunks by Grant, especially when he was in Detroit. He was a pure beast before the injuries.
@superjepoy He would have been Kobe and Shaqs main competition. I think him and T-Mac could have done something good in Orlando. I think he would have been the best player in the league over Iverson and Kobe. The NBA got kinda boring with the Lakers playing the Nets. Nobody could stick shaq so i think he still would have came up short as a champion. Its amazing he is still playing
just looking at those highlights..... you really need to take in consideration that GH without the injury bug Would be consider a top 10 or maybe top 5 wing player this game has ever seen. his 1995 moves looked pretty sick a combo of power, explosiveness, finess, craftyness, and smart-ball...come to the buls in 2012 with your veteran leadership and help us win a ring YEAH i SAID IT
Great list but u are missing his two dunks in 1 game on Theo Rattilff. 2 hand smash after a spin move yeah 4 those who forgot he was the "Air" apparent b4 he got hurt, doing that dunk u have as #1 in the playoffs while he was already injured that was the last time he was healthy until about 3yrs ago now.
I didn't miss those dunks you mentioned...they simply didn't make the cut. The 11 dunks you see here are my personal preferences (out of the 20+ GH dunks I've reviewed). ;-)
Thanks for the compliment dude. Much appreciated. =)
Nice dunks. Still..his moves to get to the rim were more impressive. If you see 1 Grant Hill dunk, you've seen them all. Most of them are the same IMO.
Grant was awesome, that top dunk should get better recognition. I mean when you talk facials and on Mourning thats right up there with Vinces best efforts, but you rarely see Grant in discussion and highlights of the best dunks/facials. Also his left-handed oop dunk in his rookie year(from memory) was incredible.
Number 8 shouldn't be in there. There's one Grant Hill dunk over Majerle (when Majerle was already with the Cavs) and that deserves to be in more than that lame dunk over Boozer.
@coolcut11 We all have our own preferences. But I still prefer this 1-handed dunk on Boozer more than that lame 2-handed stuff on Majerle (GH's 2nd year in the NBA).
@malakiBORATko Sure it does. If it was Eric Dampier, Zydrunas Igauskas or Wally Szczerbiak who dunked that against Boozer, it would have been their top dunk, but man it was Grant Hill. He has a ton of monstrous dunks way back 90's and you disregarded them. Even that hilarious dunk he had against the whole Chicago Bulls wasn't even there. Anyway my point here is your countdown would have been perfect but the Boozer dunk.
@coolcut11 No it doesn't. And who says I disregarded GH's dunks in the past? FYI, I was already working full time when GH was still in Detroit & I've been a fan of him ever since! But we're not talking about who dunked on who, but who gets dunked on! Just like I said, we all have our own preferences. For me, a 38 y.o. GH who can still soar just like the old days makes it extra special.
But for you to say that my countdown isn't perfect because I didn't agree w/ you makes your point worthless.
...and besides, I didn't make this countdown... HELLO! I simply agreed with it. If it's me who made this, I would've included A LOT MORE dunks and come up with a top 20+ list that still won't include your favourite Majerle dunk!
Agreed. Had he stayed healthy all these years, no doubt he's already got a ring or two. Nonetheless, at least he's still playing and making up for the lost times despite the setbacks in the past. Think about it, he and Shaq are the only remaining players from Dream Team 3 that's still playing today!
I have a lot of respect for Grant Hill. With all the injuries he has had in his career he could have just retired to a becah somewhere, but he loves the game so much that he has rehabbed and still plays at a high level.
Whoever gave this great countdown a thumbs down is a retard fucking faggot who envies Grant Hill and his classy personality! What a tool! He's most probably a nuthugger of one of the players that GH owned in this list! Screw you hahaha!!! =P
thumbs up of course, but there's a two hand INYOURFACE over Mutombo I'd have really liked to see in the top 5 there...huge dunk.
It's so hilarious how little air he's got in those Phoenix jersey wearing plays ehhehe....but he can still rock it on youngsters, I think it's the element of surprise too, they're not expecting Gramps Hill to actually put them on a poster !
@yoe91 I remember that dunk on Mutombo you're talking about (a two-handed jam)...it was constantly being shown (in slo-mo) along with other highlights in the "I Love This Game" ads...
Seeing 2 dunks from PHX that made it to this list is a reminder to all youngsters that GH still got some hops left!
@MlKETYSON you're the man !! Great to see some people really paying attention...that awesome 90's early 2000's era commercial, slow mo in deed, the last image on the ad.
I then saw it somewhere else with a better angle....ewwwwhhhh, what an inyourfacer...I'll look for it here on youtube...
grant hill is great.a prime hill would at least make it even with lebron now if not beating him. and the advantage he has over those stars now is that he has class. hill is the one of the very few classy players that are still playing today, and as a 37-8 year old player i think his performance is amazing, probably second to jordan as an old player.
I miss the "prime years" of Grant Hill. I'm thankful that despite the injuries, he's still playing good and now in excellent health. This list brings a lot of childhood memories! Thanks GH!

A lousy D by Majerle sure helped making the #1 dunk on this list a memorable play! Sorry 'Zo, just wait for V. Carter in a few years!
And I thought the #2 dunk was sick already due to the degree of difficulty (I mean, a blocked dunk that went in? C'mon!).
#3 reminds me of MJ's baseline move against the Knicks (Starks & Oakley) before flying towards Ewing for a facial.
GH has given us a lot of memories to cherish. I sure hope he gets a ring before hanging up his #33...& become a HOF later on!
