these filipina women, are wifes for the japanese, during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines was the period in the history of the Philippines between 1942 and 1945, when the Empire of Japan occupied the previously American-controlled Philippines during World War II.
Wow, thank you Fonsucu for posting this... This was one of the songs my grandmother used to sing this when we were kids!!! One day I had her write down the lyrics and teach me the melody. There were a few words I couldn't quite get but finally here they are! "Malacay" was the one I couldn't get.
Filipinas or Filipinos are more or less 300years colones of Hispania or Spain Españiol in tagalog term ,, and those are not Filipinos Clothing in that time Filipinos and Filipinas ware Barong and Saya am look like European Gown im a Filipinos but those on the Pic look Japanese
i guess they're not photographs during the war. the hairstyles were even earlier like the 1920s. i believe some filipino women even wear the old european clothings before the american era. and such photographs are rare. my great grand mother had worn a corset and a hoop skirt. but such fashion was never mentioned in history books.

muzaraque 1 year ago
