  • how is the setup compared to the Fender 70's jazz bass? better?

  • @ox092 The Geddy feels much better to me. It's made in Japan instead of Mexico like the 70's reissue. The Japan one are made better in my opinion. We sale the Geddy for $909.99 with gig bag. You will need this coupon code to get that price online at nstuffmusic. Coupon Code: FENDER35 use this a checkout.

  • @NstuffMusic Thanks so much for your suggestions. I really appreciate it! :).

  • Sounds and looks like you're scared to play the thing, hit it man hit it...........

  • How does this compare to the American Special Jazz bass?

  • @pelrsn The Geddy Lee bass is one of my favorite basses. The neck is slimmer and love the block inlay's. It's made in Japan. $909.99 at nstuffmusic.

  • ummm......play rush?

  • @darrenedesignedu Heard some Tom Sawyer @0:24

  • Cool slap technique man!

  • for playing rock and heavy metal which is better this one or the markus miller?

  • @elblack25 I have the same question, but Lakland Daryl Jones' is *my* bass in question

  • Your tone needs to me more aggressive. The tone on all these basses ends up sounding the same.

  • the dude in this vid looks like a young george carlin. lol

  • Does this bass sound good for classic rock songs? Like Beatles and stones stuff?

  • @vikingchris22 You can pretty much play anything on a Jazz bass.

  • I HONESTLY don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings but many people feel this way......

Buying a musical instrument with someone's name on it is frankly childish. It's magical hero worshiping that is a corporate matchbook cover. And it will certainly LOOSE it's luster as the individual matures.

  • @afrircans1970 Uh... what? I don't even care too much for Rush. I don't care for the name either. I care for the fact that it's an AWESOME bass.

  • When it was time to buy my first "big boy" bass a few years back, it was either this one or a Music Man. I chose the Music Man but haven't enjoyed it - high action, difficult to fret, very boomy output despite amp or recording rig I connect it to, etc. Technically the MM is probably the superior instrument but I'm thinking I'd much prefer the Geddy. Thoughts on using this bass for new wave / indie stuff like Duran Duran, Killers, etc.?

  • @MegaCrasher3000 Mark from The Killers plays a Geddy Lee Jazz, you should be fine :)

  • 1:36 to the end..... tasty.

  • hi im looking for a new jazz bass because right now i have a squire jazz bass and i really just dont like the sound and playabilty of it. i really like playing funky stuff like stevie wonder and the redhotchilipeppers, but i also like playing alot of alternitive like foo fighters or nirvana. what j bass would you recomend for an all around sound? i really just want a versatile bass that sounds good with all types of music

  • @eggnog1337 You might want to try a active bass. They have more control (separate bass, mid, treble control) which enables you to tailor the sound to different styles. Check out the Fender Deluxe Active Jazz.

  • @eggnog1337

musicman sting ray is the one for you.

  • @hayzeephantayzee hahaha as much as id love a musicman i could not come close to enough money to buy that.

  • @eggnog1337

i think there's a budget series by OLP. or check talkbass.com, i sometimes see them go there for not more than a geddy lee...

  • Boring.. hes just playing with the neck pickup..

  • @Exessis I, personally, love the sound of just the neck pickup on a jazz bass. I have one of the American 75 reissues, and the tone of that bass with the neck pickup being the dominate is just awesome. Especially when you biamp running one amp with overdrive and the other with just a plain dry signal. Now, I do like to run both my neck and bridge pickup full at times, but I really favor the sound the neck pickup puts out.

  • Man, that tone is nasty. Wtf are you running that through?

  • whats the differents between jazz bas and a p bass ?

  • @iConverseMyLife A Jazz bass has a offset body were the P-Bass has your normal body shape. The Jazz has a thinner neck and has more mid and treble frequencies.

  • @NstuffMusic thank you :)

  • @NstuffMusic thanks.

  • @NstuffMusic I think a jazz bass sounds scooped compared to a p bass. The jazz has a deeper low end and nice high and while the P bass just has a ton of mids

  • A few years ago I needed an upgraded bass for the band I was in. It came down to this bass or a Music Man Sterling. I went with the Music Man but I'm thinking I should have chosen the Geddy instead. I think this may be my next purchase. By the way, awesome playing, man!

  • great sounding bass!

  • OMG, that bass is just perfect, man I want one lol.
