So, in my opinion, the decision to lease a Prius or not would be the same as for jut about any other model.
I don't like cars that "tell" me how to drive. Navigation is nice, but I don't need a car to park itself. You shouldn't be driving if you can't park w/o toyota's parking assist.

@youraveragemat Yeah, or if you save enough money for like 6 to 12 months for 10% - 40% down payment, and assuming you don't have any other financial commitments (e.g. home loan, family expenses, education loan etc), then your monthly instalment would not be much of a burden. That said, I am assuming a monthly salary of somewhere between RM4000 - 5000. But most graduates still normally get basic salary of RM2000++.

your not saving the environment by purchasing a prius, and you no this car is terrible when Jeremy Clarkson recommends a diesel instead. also a little fun fact about the prius, when i was working in north dakota a few weeks ago a co worker had a 2010 prius and at 70mph it got 43mpg, at 75mph it gets 34.9mpg and at 80mph it got 26.1mpg. this car does not have the power to get decent mileage past 70mph, my old Bmw 328i got better mpg at 90mph than the prius

I like to drive about 75 to 80 MPH on the interstate especially if i am going on a long trip trying to save on driving time. If I get a Prius and it got 26 mpg at 80 mph I would be pretty pissed
@dmbfannh one of my coworkers has a 2010 prius and on our 750 mile trip up to Williston, nd, we were driving 75-80 mph and he had to stop every 200 miles or so to fuel up and i only had to stop twice, so in this case a my MAZDASPEED Protege with its 170hp turbo 2.0 4cyl 5 speed is more economical than the prius

your not saving the environment by purchasing a prius, and you no this car is terrible when Jeremy Clarkson recommends a diesel instead. also a little fun fact about the prius, when i was working in north dakota a few weeks ago a co worker had a 2010 prius and at 70mph it got 43mpg, at 75mph it gets 34.9mpg and at 80mph it got 26.1mpg. this car does not have the power to get decent mileage past 70mph, my old Bmw 328i got better mpg at 90mph than the prius

That very interesting. I was thinking about buying a prius but if what you are saying is true i will reconcider. I like to drive about 75 to 80 MPH on the interstate especially if i am going on a long trip trying to save on driving time. If I get a Prius and it got 26 mpg at 80 mph I would be pretty pissed

@dmbfannh one of my coworkers has a 2010 prius and on our 750 mile trip up to Williston, nd, we were driving 75-80 mph and he had to stop every 200 miles or so to fuel up and i only had to stop twice, so in this case a my MAZDASPEED Protege with its 170hp turbo 2.0 4cyl 5 speed is more economical than the prius

@myNEONCITY compared to its rivals the prius gets shit for mpg and if you drive faster than 70 mph it does not have enough power to get decent mpg; my mazdaspeed protege with its 2.0 turbo 5 speed gets better mpg than a prius at 80 mph; if you want a good economy car buy a VW TDI or import a VW Polo Bluemotion which gets 74mpg at 70mph

@6speedm umm I don't think so. I was in my friends prius driving on a California Highway which was 70mph and she got 49mpg. Power has nothing to do with decent MPG. First, VW does not make good cars, Second, diesel cars are dumb because diesel is more expensive than regular gasoline, making these "good economy cars" a not-so-good choice.

@myNEONCITY power has everything to do with fuel economy, have you ever driven a dodge or chrysler with the 2.7 v6 it has almost no torque if you cruise on a flat road at 60 you will get 34mpg but once you have to drive up a hill or just getting the car up to speed kills your mpg because it takes a miilion years. diesel is a better fuel than gas, its cleaner burning than gas this is why diesel cars get far better mpg than gas cars, also diesel motors will run forever with little maintenance

@6speedm the prius does get shit for mileage compared to its economy rivals, a Jaguar XJ with a 3.0 twin-turbo diesel V6 will easily get 49mpg and by no means is this a small car, a vw scirocco tdi gets 55 mpg, a Subaru legacy wagon diesel gets 63mpg even with its lack of torque and being all wheel drive, 99-03 jetta and gulf tdi's gets in the 50s for mpg, and the vw polo bluemotion gets 74-80 mpg; all these cars do not aid global warming to produce

@6speedm Actually you are still wrong when you say the Prius gets shit compared to it's rivals. There have been MANY reports of people getting up to 99MPG while in the prius. The Prius still beats out all the cars you listed except for the VW polo bluemotion. Except that car is a hell of a lot tinier, has a lot less power, it's less practical, it's a manual(annoying), sounds harsh when accelerating with its tiny three cylinder, it's slower, it's a VW(unreliable), and since it's a diesel...

@6speedm ...since it's a diesel, the fuel economy you may have wont equal fuel savings since diesel is more expensive than gasoline. Prius still wins. It's still a better car all around. And if you compare it, it gets amazing MPG compared to the others, yet it is a whole lot better than the polo bluemotion. P.S. the second comment you typed was replied to yourself. Not very smart.

Yea a real scam, are you serious? Do some reasearch then say that. Consumer reports just did a test on an old Prius with over 200000 miles on it to dsee how well these cars hold up over time. They did this because even Consumer reports was skeptical about this car at first 10 years ago. They were a little supprized to find out that this old prius 200000 miles later still drove perfectly. All the owner had to do was change it's oil. This car suffered not ONE malfunction. scam?

The crappy prius is only popular in north american, here in europe it's quiet a rare sight, because that thing is NOT "Eco-Friendly" At all, it gets 50MPG Tops, wich any decent diesel here in europe can beat, and not to mention how expensive it is.

@wokeupthismorning100 most diesel cars get better mpg than the stupid prius, the diesel Jaguar XJ gets 50 mpg and its a land yacht; plus when you drive your prius faster than 70mph there is a severe drop in fuel economy due to the priuses lack of power and CVT transmission. at 75-80mph a Mustang with the 4.6 V8 gets better mpg than the prius and its a V8 not a small penis 1.8 4cyl with a environmentally hazardous nickel battery

the prius is far from a eco car, it takes 113,000,000 BTU's to make 1 prius, so theoretically before you buy the car it has consumed over 1,000 gallons of gas; the prius also has a high cost of ownership since the batteries only last 100,000 miles and only dealers can work on them. if you want a good eco car buy a diesel for example a 2003 vw tdi 5spd will get close to 60mpg and the prius at best will get 50mpg, it's been proven that the hummer h2 does less environmental than damage the prius
