  • Brilliant, super vocal, great bass line and a genius on the drums

  • This guys is uber talented and I have admired him and his work since I can remember. It's just a shame that he has to be an asshole, too.

  • This must be Austin,TX ,shine a light on thee.

  • CCR provavelmente uma das melhores bandas rock do século XX!

  • Fantastic!

  • hehehok...whoever disliked this song....you are an asshole and really, you should just move to Antarctica and stop taking up space

  • Nice :)

  • John Fogerty is the best. The eight dislikes must be deaf

  • John Fogerty was one of the truly great voices of his day. He was, and is the greatest

singer in Rock. He had a great band. "The Midnight Special" is a prison song from

    Leadbelly.

    deralteist

  • I used to look forward to crusing in my friends hot Plymouth Satellite with his tape player blasting out CCR for everyone to hear. Man those were some of the good ole days. Cheers..

    Wayne..

  • Anyone remember the tv show, The Midnight Special? It was hosted by Wolfman Jack, i think. I used to watch it during the late 70s, early 80s when i got home from second shift work. It had all the great rock bands on it! Thats where this song originated from!

  • @horsenaround Yup, I just got a couple DVDs of that show for Christmas. You can get them on amazon pretty cheap.

  • @horsenaround - LOVED WOLFMAN JACK - WAS TRAVELING THRU SCRANTON PA ABOUT 20 YRARS AGO AND HEARED HIM DOING A OVER NIGHT RADIO SHOW - ALMOST WRECKED THE CAR Ô¿Ô

  • ... this is one of the greatest who must be cloned before they are gone ...

  • One of the greatest bands ever --- after the Beatles and the Beach Boys, of course.

  • Fogarty shuffles about a little, wags tail and warbles,, and suddenly you got the greatest show on earth. How tremendous, and how lucky for him. Yep, I'm a CCR fan from way back.

  • i remember as a small boy in the 70's everyone listened to CCR summers were endless ,camping trips, throwing a sleeping bag in the bed of a truck and watching movies at the drive inn till u fell asleep there was no xbox no one i knew had a computer and ,u didnt have to worry about locking ya doors ...lord whats happened to our country i miss it to bad this generation will never experience things like i did growing up !!

  • @Maddawwg45 I know how you feel! Its so sad that our country has gone to the dogs! I think what i miss more than anything, is the great music of the 60s! The stuff they play today just dont cut it for me. The music of today is so monotone and has no spirit or message to it like ours did back then. Its horrible to see what its become!

  • Great drummer Kenny Aranoff appears with Fogerty on many occasions

  • Ben Stiller on keys

  • John could sing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and make it a classic!!!

  • Brilliant

  • Leadbelly would be proud.

  • awww he changed houston to austin.

  • That man still sounds the same. A true great!

  • I loved him in the 70's and I still love him! Great song....one of many that he has sung throughout his career!

  • aprendam com os mais velhos!!! ele aí com 63 aninhos, hoje com 66, talento não tem idade!!! quem sabe faz ao vivo!!!!

  • fun ain't it?

  • Hot hot hot!! Could do without the freakish females with the multi-colored hair... I guess they just have to put themselves everywhere... Freaks...

CCR lovers wouldn't need to look freaky to enjoy the music...

  • @Kimberliss42 do yourself a favor never open your mouth again

  • Is the guy at 3:09 sitting next to the cute girls with the colored hair, the guy from the tv series Missouri Truckstop? He sure looks like it. He looks just like the guy from the Missouri Truck Stop TV show. Oh well, and Isn't John Fogerty fantastic? Although I swear he says "There's a bathroom on the right" in one of his lines.

  • neal peart seems in his own universe stuck with mortals? no offense to any other drummers.

  • owesome!!!!!

  • My like John forgerty

  • I like the snow cones at 3:00

  • Quem viu a setinha passando dá um curtir ae! (y)

  • Comment removed

  • don't forget the roots: don't forget Lead Belly .bande de culs blancs ...

  • Vin Diesel at drums

  • @chabon89 *LOL*

More like Kenny Aronoff .....a perfect match for John Fogerty and a much more energetic performer than Diesel could ever hope to be! *However, I did like him in Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick and xXx*

    peace

  • @technocrash09 Of course.

  • @technocrash09 Is there a better rock'n'roll drummer than Kenny Aronoff? I doubt it!

  • @ecksact Well, there's Neal Peart.............and Nick Mason.............maybe not better but right up there! Both of them have been doing it waaaay longer than Kenny. They are all GODS on a kit as far as I can tell. And there are many others....all good in their own right!

    peace

  • @chabon89 Kenny Aronoff, Mellencamp's longtime drummer.

  • @chabon89 was that really him ?? shure looks like him though

  • @chabon89 Hey, don't disrespect Kenny Aronoff. The best drummer in the universe.

  • loven it !!!

  • Great!!! A Classic!:)

  • He is just so awesome, a true legend.

  • Some dirty dirty badass bass gohn down there boyz !

  • coolest dude EVER!!!!!

  • he is my uncle

  • @skater1231231 Proof, please

  • the john fogerty special xD

  • The Best!!!

  • I saw him in my little hometown in 06 in Kungsbacka/sweden.

  • John Fogerty is one of the few that truly has talent . All these years and hes still rockin ! Rock on

  • Fogerty prolly has more fun on stage than any other performer I've seen (and I've seen lots!). he was having as much fun and Woodstock (yes......."the first one") as he is here! :)

    peace

  • was this at the Back Yard? tickets to that were 125.00

  • @sheilaiam2 at the austin city limits festival in 08...i scored a 3 day pass for 130 on craigslist 2 days before the festival started

  • This song is perfect, JUST PERFECT!

  • DONT COMPLAIN BOY..................

  • John is "Amazing" he still has fantastic vocals and Kenny my man your the best "WOW"

  • Mr Fogerty we want you to back in Mexico

  • We got to see Fogerty twice: first as opening act for the Eagles at an outdoor show like this one, and again as a headliner indoors. Great show full of hits and fun. Funny, he changes guitars every song.

  • What do youmake of the popularity map. Look at the UK? beats me.

  • Keep running John. Keeping healthy and you get better day by day. Love seeing you play live. Nice job you do.

  • I've seen that bald drummer somewhere... Anyone can hint as to where I did ??

  • @Ant57fr Drummer is Kenny Aronoff, he often give drum cover on Fogerty's concerts!

  • @Ant57fr Mellencamp, The Stones, just to name a couple.

  • @technocrash09 Thanks !! I checked his Wikipedia page - the guy has a very impressive resume to say the least...

  • @Ant57fr Alot of folks say he is not that good and merely "full of himself". I disagree. He plays "the skins" as well or better than most in the business. I am especially partial to Nick Mason of Floyd fame. Aronoff is just as good. Besides, I am of the opinion he would not be getting hired by legends if he could not carry the weight, right! :) Glad to find another Fogerty fan! I am his age and have listened to his stuff since high school!

  • @technocrash09 Same here - to me he sounds as tight as should be !! And if he was that full of himself he certainly wouldn't get to play with so many big names...

  • @Ant57fr the drummer is basically a session drummer, but he's been hired my many famous musicians including Fogerty in 2005, the drummer is Kenny Aronoff. Kenny has played for John Mellencamp, Bob Seger, Elton John, John Fogerty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The BoDeans, The Smashing Pumpkins, Tony Iommi, Jon Bon Jovi and Stryper to name afew bands

  • never heard of him, don't want to hear of him again. down vote.

  • wake up idiot, did u just finish your bong or what!

  • just finish your bong dickhead!

  • @frother no mames!!

  • Long live John Fogerty, Pleeease do a show in Ireland before I die, then I go happy

  • Long live John Fogerty

  • He has such a great voice. An American treasure.

  • The Midnight special: John FOGERTY:

Fogerty’s CCR were an awesome band in the 60/s 70's. When you got one of their LP's, almost every track was good because their songs were. No mistaking John Fogerty is a Rock front man if ever there was one. Entirely agree: great Rock singer: we have nothing like him on this side of the water and still Rocking on as ever

    !

  • He's the man for sure! Every time I hear the beginning of one of his early songs it reminds me of Viet Nam and all those who were lost. I hope I will see our troops all at home and not engauged in battle before I die. Peace!

  • John will keep on 20 more years I hope :) at least... :)

  • The ultimate classic that'll never die

  • John Fogerty in Copacabana Beach!

I want enjoy that before I die.

Yes we trust. I and all off millions of brazillian old and young people that loves his musics.

  • Absolutel amazing singer and songwriter. He just needs to come to Ireland and do some shows.

  • I love John Fogerty, I grew up listening to his music... CCR

  • @Louisbr: Sorry man, but Iove this song, and I just searched U-Tube for every version... Found one by Leadbelly from the '30s, if I was around then I would have loved the song then, but I've been a rock & roll & blues fans for 35 years. Went to see BB & Bobby in B'ham in 1982. I found another version by Odetta, but she was 70 something at the time, kinda folksy version. Find me a version by Lou Rawls, Otis Redding, Bobby Bland, I'd love to have a contemporary video to save to my favorites.Thx!

  • after a 20 some year absence due to a dispute w/his record label, John is back better than ever...hallelujah!!!

  • esse cara é fantástico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fantastic!!!!!

  • Anyone know if thats Kenny Aronoff playing drums?

  • @truckbbbb It sure is..

  • going by the glasses, it would be a safe assumption

  • . . . exactly this is Mr. K. A. and he is still drumming for JF .

  • This is BLUE EYED SOUL based on the Black experience of the great LEADBELLY. Yes, there were poor-poor white people of the south, my dad was one of them, and he loved Leadbelly.

  • When you see the girl in the white shirt tapping her toes, that is the soul of ROCK N ROLL--EVEN THOUGH IT IS COUNTRY BASED. Love it.

  • I saw CCR play in LA what a show, but that was way back in 1978

  • ahh CCR broke up in 1972.

  • Music hasnt quite lived up to the 70s stuff yet.

    and I was born in 81 ;)

  • Excellent....

  • Just great! Did he play more songs that night?

  • Hard to believe....this guy is over 60 and still belting them out as he did 40 years ago......

  • @Labaron26 He is actually over 65 now, still going strong :)

  • @Labaron26 John Fogerty has the blues, and just like the man who wrote this song, he will have it for ever :)

  • @Labaron26 he is just great ..love him heaps xoxox

  • @Labaron26 THINGS HAVE CHANGED....SIXTY IS NO LONGER OLD..WHEN YOUR VERY YOUNG..IT SEEMS SO..BUT I AM UP THERE..AND FEEL AS I DID WHEN I DANCED TO CCR.....NO ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND CHASING AFTER MEN...THAT MAKES YOU LIVE A LOT LONGER..AND HEALTHIER...

  • @76oldlady.....I dont do any of those things either...However, I have been known to chase after some women, only Im too old to catch em now...LOL.

  • Inesquecivel som!!!!! The midnight Special!!! I LOVE JOHN!!!!

  • fucken bad ass!

  • Great!

  • Awesome !

  • Most of CCR videoes in this blog . do not run smoothly. So enableto enjoy their songs. Hope some improvement would be made.

    Francis Ng/ Malaysia

  • A classic American voice that cannot, and never will be, duplicated.

  • @Entertainmentwriter And thank fucking christ for that

  • @myjizzureye Thanks. I think we can judge great musical genius by how often other artists cover their songs. I mean, when you think about it how many people successfully covered a Beatles' song? Joe Cocker, and not too many others. You never hear other renditions of CCR or Beach Boys stuff. They are simply iconic and impossible to duplicate with any credibiilty.

  • great honor for JOHN FOGERTY. live long John.
