I used to look forward to crusing in my friends hot Plymouth Satellite with his tape player blasting out CCR for everyone to hear. Man those were some of the good ole days. Cheers..
Anyone remember the tv show, The Midnight Special? It was hosted by Wolfman Jack, i think. I used to watch it during the late 70s, early 80s when i got home from second shift work. It had all the great rock bands on it! Thats where this song originated from!
@horsenaround - LOVED WOLFMAN JACK - WAS TRAVELING THRU SCRANTON PA ABOUT 20 YRARS AGO AND HEARED HIM DOING A OVER NIGHT RADIO SHOW - ALMOST WRECKED THE CAR Ô¿Ô
Fogarty shuffles about a little, wags tail and warbles,, and suddenly you got the greatest show on earth. How tremendous, and how lucky for him. Yep, I'm a CCR fan from way back.
i remember as a small boy in the 70's everyone listened to CCR summers were endless ,camping trips, throwing a sleeping bag in the bed of a truck and watching movies at the drive inn till u fell asleep there was no xbox no one i knew had a computer and ,u didnt have to worry about locking ya doors ...lord whats happened to our country i miss it to bad this generation will never experience things like i did growing up !!
@Maddawwg45 I know how you feel! Its so sad that our country has gone to the dogs! I think what i miss more than anything, is the great music of the 60s! The stuff they play today just dont cut it for me. The music of today is so monotone and has no spirit or message to it like ours did back then. Its horrible to see what its become!
Is the guy at 3:09 sitting next to the cute girls with the colored hair, the guy from the tv series Missouri Truckstop? He sure looks like it. He looks just like the guy from the Missouri Truck Stop TV show. Oh well, and Isn't John Fogerty fantastic? Although I swear he says "There's a bathroom on the right" in one of his lines.
More like Kenny Aronoff .....a perfect match for John Fogerty and a much more energetic performer than Diesel could ever hope to be! *However, I did like him in Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick and xXx*
@ecksact Well, there's Neal Peart.............and Nick Mason.............maybe not better but right up there! Both of them have been doing it waaaay longer than Kenny. They are all GODS on a kit as far as I can tell. And there are many others....all good in their own right!
Fogerty prolly has more fun on stage than any other performer I've seen (and I've seen lots!). he was having as much fun and Woodstock (yes......."the first one") as he is here! :)
We got to see Fogerty twice: first as opening act for the Eagles at an outdoor show like this one, and again as a headliner indoors. Great show full of hits and fun. Funny, he changes guitars every song.
@Ant57fr Alot of folks say he is not that good and merely "full of himself". I disagree. He plays "the skins" as well or better than most in the business. I am especially partial to Nick Mason of Floyd fame. Aronoff is just as good. Besides, I am of the opinion he would not be getting hired by legends if he could not carry the weight, right! :) Glad to find another Fogerty fan! I am his age and have listened to his stuff since high school!
@technocrash09 Same here - to me he sounds as tight as should be !! And if he was that full of himself he certainly wouldn't get to play with so many big names...
@Ant57fr the drummer is basically a session drummer, but he's been hired my many famous musicians including Fogerty in 2005, the drummer is Kenny Aronoff. Kenny has played for John Mellencamp, Bob Seger, Elton John, John Fogerty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The BoDeans, The Smashing Pumpkins, Tony Iommi, Jon Bon Jovi and Stryper to name afew bands
Fogerty’s CCR were an awesome band in the 60/s 70's. When you got one of their LP's, almost every track was good because their songs were. No mistaking John Fogerty is a Rock front man if ever there was one. Entirely agree: great Rock singer: we have nothing like him on this side of the water and still Rocking on as ever
He's the man for sure! Every time I hear the beginning of one of his early songs it reminds me of Viet Nam and all those who were lost. I hope I will see our troops all at home and not engauged in battle before I die. Peace!
@Louisbr: Sorry man, but Iove this song, and I just searched U-Tube for every version... Found one by Leadbelly from the '30s, if I was around then I would have loved the song then, but I've been a rock & roll & blues fans for 35 years. Went to see BB & Bobby in B'ham in 1982. I found another version by Odetta, but she was 70 something at the time, kinda folksy version. Find me a version by Lou Rawls, Otis Redding, Bobby Bland, I'd love to have a contemporary video to save to my favorites.Thx!
This is BLUE EYED SOUL based on the Black experience of the great LEADBELLY. Yes, there were poor-poor white people of the south, my dad was one of them, and he loved Leadbelly.

@myjizzureye Thanks. I think we can judge great musical genius by how often other artists cover their songs. I mean, when you think about it how many people successfully covered a Beatles' song? Joe Cocker, and not too many others. You never hear other renditions of CCR or Beach Boys stuff. They are simply iconic and impossible to duplicate with any credibiilty.

Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery with here in your heart. have u done that?
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
