@SebassTheDJ I'm sorry, can't retrace what you mean. Do you mean the HD25's? I've got the coiled cable, it's awesome :) It means you can move around fine while DJing without standing on your cable.
Hey man awesome mix, good transitions, I just bought an xponent and just still learning how to use it well. What effects are you using? and do you have any tips for guy starting out? thanks :)
The best thing to do is to practice a lot ;) Try to find out for yourself what you think sounds right, then you can develop your own style. I'm using the delay and repeat effects a lot. You can also use the touch pad to control the dual filter, works great :D
When you use the touchpad for the dual filter effect, is it possible to control the volume ? Because for me it's 0% or 100% of the volume effect, there's no possibility to control this option ... is it normal ?
@jjzan07 I just put my finger in the center of the pad and move to the left or to the right to engage the filter effect. The center is the zero-point. The effect @ 10:05 is the repeat effect. You can use the second effect button to choose a new point for the effect to start. Just try it ;) Good luck!
Hey man great mix but I was wondering do you even play in clubs?? and what type of music do you mostly play in club like what genre? And just wondering how do you get club gigs?
What kind of set up do you use for when you dj at parties. (Amplifier, speakers, cables ect.) I'm trying to buy stuff that is pretty good quality at reasonable pricing. I would just be using my laptop and xponent to dj at parties. Look to hear from you.
Well almost every party I play at already has a soundsystem. If this is not the case, a soundsystem is hired. It really depends on the size of the party which soundsystem is hired. For cables I use high quality 'Yellow Cable' ones.
Hey Boots: I was wondering does your xponent ever start to get heated on either side of the top left and right sections? this kinda worries me as I don't even have it in a case yet and it does that @.o
Really? Hmm that's weird.. Mine doesn't get heated at all as far as I know. I guess you should send M-Audio an email explaining the problem. They'll know what to do:)
So is your Mac Running snow leopard because mine is and m-audio does not have an update for snow leopard yet. If your somehow running torq with snow leopard please let me know how. Thanks man
No it's still running Leopard (10.5.8). I guess I'll wait for M-Audio to update Torq before I'll update to Snow Leopard. My other MacBook is running Snow Leopard, haven't tried to run Torq yet. I'm sure M-Audio will update their software asap.
Where did you learn to dj? On you own through experience or djtutor and stuff like that? Im looking to get better and I want to grow, yes its only been a couple months since i started djing but I just am trying to learn as much as possible. Thanks man, look forward to hearing from you. By the way this is amazing!!
I learned the basis by watching others DJ. But for the biggest part I learned it on my own. It's the best way, because you really learn to listen to the music correctly en you can decide for yourself what sounds cool. If you practice enough you will come up with some of your own tricks and in that way you are creating your own mixing style :) Good luck with it, and if you want to know something else, just reply here.
I also started messing around with Virtual DJ but obviously u can't use the keyboard and mouse to make any good home mixes. Do u know of any other controllers like xponent that are more affordable?
In addition to the BCD, I'd also recommend the Hercules MK2...very versitile piece of kit and rugged as hell...I don't know how many times I dropped it and it kept on kicking :D
Great mix ? I was wondering do you play the same kind of electro house tunes at ur gigs or do u change it up at all like play top40 stuff or do u mostly keep it the same? Bc i wanted to play a gig and I am affraid that ppl wont like my music (which is electro house) ? so do u think i should change it up or keep it the same?
If I'm playing at a student party I change the music a lot. It varies from 90's hits to top 40 to some rock and eventually some house and happy hardcore. That's a typical student night :) You really have to read the crowd in order to play the right tunes. But whenever you play at a house party, you're free to play house :) But you still have to read the crowd, don't play the tunes for yourself :)
Thanks, I think it's great! It does all the things I want a controller to do and even a bit more. It still works like a charm, so I'm happy with it :)
that was the best remix i ever listed :D

@thijsvanhasselt yes, i mean the HD25's. You have to buy the coiled cable or it comes with the headphones?
SebassTheDJ 1 year ago
@SebassTheDJ It comes with some versions, some versions only have a straight cable. The HD25 CII's have a coiled cable.
