I am also Christian and I know DMX knows the Bible. I think he is almost showing a transition for this album because like the title states, Walk with me now and you'll fly with me later. Meaning that if you stand by him through the rough hardship, then you'll follow the path to Heaven later. I don't think he is luke warm, just a transition, and it's about time DMX takes over the radio and starts showing teens about God rather then sex, drugs, and money.

You can't just step in and say that you want to become a pastor. You could, but there's gotta be order, a pastor needs to receive a laying on of hands from a pastor who received it from another pastor who ultimately goes all the way back to Jesus. Apparently, you don't read the Word of God because in Matthew during the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus clearly said "No man can serve two masters, he will love one and despise the other." I am also Christian and I know DMX knows the Bible. I think he is almost showing a transition for this album because like the title states, Walk with me now and you'll fly with me later. Meaning that if you stand by him through the rough hardship, then you'll follow the path to Heaven later. I don't think he is luke warm, just a transition, and it's about time DMX takes over the radio and starts showing teens about God rather then sex, drugs, and money.

You can't just step in and say that you want to become a pastor. You could, but there's gotta be order, a pastor needs to receive a laying on of hands from a pastor who received it from another pastor who ultimately goes all the way back to Jesus. You can't just step in and lead. You could say you're a christian all you want but Jesus called us to be witnesses. DMX still curses like crazy, what will his congregation pick up from that? That's just as bad as a scandalous pastor.

Well I am happy for you all I am saying is you can`t serve god and satan. you canot serve two masters for it is written in Matthew 6:24. I can understand that he wants to make a gospel album but has he received full salvation? For me, his "gospel" songs hit home. I don't have to answer for him just because I can relate to Lord Give Me a Sign. Still, I wish he'd clean his other stuff up a bit...I might start listening to him again.

X is on some real shit though with his gospel album. People don't realize that it was his messed up childhood that brought about his anger and pain, but his love for music and God got him through. You don't need to go to church to be a christian because I know folks who do and they are some of the biggest hypocrites I know of, but in DMX's case he is who he is and he does not hide anything. Love him or hate him he's still one of God kids like the rest of us. God works in mysterious ways.

hip hop has nothing to do with "darkness"...it's just a form of music that illustrates ANYTHING that the rapper has on his mind. It can be about life in the streets or neighborhood they grew up in, political status quo, or other things. It's just that many today use it to talk about partying, drugs, etc...but that is their choice.
If anything it makes a whole lot more sense than "Christian Rock" does.

Diddy had mentioned for many years after his 1999 release "Forever" that he was going to release a Gospel rap album. It is 2008 and there is no Gospel "P. The proof is in the pudding. Every album of his has one Gospel-tinged track tucked away at the end, so how does that count for all the filth and trash he uses on the rest of the albums? Apparently, you don't read the Word of God because in Matthew during the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus clearly said "No man can serve two masters, he will love one and despise the other." To a Christian, God and the world are two seperate masters and therefore are only fooling themselves if they believe they can truly get the best of both worlds and still be honored before the Father in Heaven.

Rawk, you are right. There is a deeper spiritual meaning behind what DMX is attempting to achieve. In this industry, the rappers know that if they blaspheme the HOLY GHOST or profane GOD'S name, it will get them brownie points with satan who promises them fame, money, women or whatever they desire from satan. DMX doesn't "worship" the secular. He makes songs that talk about the past in his life and at the end puts on a track giving glory to God and talking about how he's changed. He isn't materialistic like so many other rappers at the top these days.
