  • put a mirror in front of you, so that the tv is behind you and follow her good luck i know she keeps changing perpectives try hard to relax as you practice with her

  • How do You do this with One arm!!???

  • Very, very good stuff.

  • steveuke - You have interesting ideas. Perhaps you have heard of one attributed to Lao Tsu "Those who know do not talk. Those who talk do not know." I wish you well.

  • TEST

  • @fleaqueg "Real words are not vain " Lao Tsu Ch.81. In a world gone mad I beat my immortal drum. Invest in loss. Be well.

  • This video made me dizzy with all the fast transitions.

  • So many view transitions....it's hard to see what's going on and follow..... IMHO of course.

    She's pretty though!

  • it is a misunderstanding that this form is less martial. In a fight on the street space is often limited so smaller moves are less risky as well as more effective, as is the case with a higher stance. Great form.

  • steveuke - because even warriors have to eat and earn a living!

  • In the heat of battle food or occupation should not occupy your mind. A warriors only concern should be that of SERVICE - hence, Armed Service. Did Jesus worry about food or his carpentry tools when engaged in History's Greatest Battle? We are talking about Tai Chi Chuan here -eh? Did Jesus charge for his teachings or his healing? Now we have the "silk road" at the Yang Family Seminar. O'Sensei never charged but left a bowl for donations for the dojo -he ate...

  • Steveuke, would you please write me a thesis on peng jin, I would like you to spend oh at least 2 hours on this, for free of course, thanks

  • @sabertoothassasin Peng who?

  • exactly! If you offer your services for free, then you have no income unless you're getting it from elsewhere. How else are you going to pay for the NATURAL cost of living? Beg for stuff for your entire life? Rely on donations? Do you work steveuke? Do you offer your services for free? Do you charge for your work or did you tell your boss to keep the money for some needy worker or perhaps donated your entire paycheck to some charity?

  • The natural cost of living is dying. Bushido implies we die with honor. Therefore - I would not beg. {Bum's beg}. I farm and work. I do not worry about the money. My first teacher said " The workman is worthy of his meat". If I taught Martial Arts I would teach for free again. I do not want to confuse my ART with commerce. In Old Japan and China the Merchant Class was the lowliest - little above the Eta - or outcasts. My Sensei in 24 years has not taken a penny for himself. I am proud of him

    .

  • You are living - what's to earn? When did you last not eat? - if not by choice. Rather, have you fed another - would you die for a brother: That is the true earning or the yearning that should kindle your soul...Whom do you know ? - YOURSELF.? If not, WHO ARE YOU?

  • She has no peng jin, but she keeps her knees aligned with her feet properly which is rare to see on these commercial tai chi videos. lots of shoulder tension. and her head is really forward.

  • Agree. But think of who the audience is. It's house mom's with few minutes to exercise in the living room and not anyone wishing to compete in Wushu tournaments. I think it;s perfectly fine to start out with and hopefully if people want more, they will seek an instructor who will offer the proper corrections.

  • The leaning is intrinsic to WCC Chen's form - Fall asleep / Wake up. My reply is: Why won"t WCC Chen post his whole form on Youtube? Cheng Man Ching's form is freely shared. I am tiring of the HIGH COST of ALL the Tai Chi SEMINARS. It makes me wonder if there is ANYTHING of TRUE value there?? WHY HAS Tai Chi Chuan BECOME Such A BUSINESS??? True warriors have no fear. Maybe some of these Masters need to return to the CAVE. Respect yourselves and TRUST IN GOD'S GRACE. Give and freely receive.

  • Steveuke - You are making a lot of assumptions about the intentions of someone other than yourself. If you really want to know the answer to your question then I suggest that you try taking the appropriate steps to find it.

  • well, theres some free wujifa videos up on youtube. You can study those all you want and you still wont 'get it' really unless you have some personal instruction. So, i can see what you mean about the videos, but many people, in order to advance to those high levels of martial arts, must make a living by teaching it, in order for them to train full time. Its a delicate balance. Actually some of the best teaching is 'free' if you can find it. But some people learn more simply because they pay.

  • Trev and Wolf, Maybe this discussion is good. When I learned the CMC form in 1969 I learned for free. When my sifu had me teach I taught for free. Robert W. Smith taught for free until people thought it had no value because of no charges. He then had people donate equal time for a charity.Tai Chi is now big business and it would be hard for a novice to discern the good from the bad with many Masters & Seminars. Tai Chi in the Park is usually free. My comments are general not just for W. Chen

  • sounds good

  • steveuke- It takes dedicated daily practice to manifest the worth of any system, and you arent going to get that through watching a video. There are a number of his students who teach free and "in the park" style lessons all around the world, just as there are a number of videos on youtube featuring students of Master Chen performing the entire 60 movement short form. It comes across as disrespectful to speculate about the intentions of a teacher as well-regarded as William C.C. Chen.

  • I love WCC Chen's form. I just don't think of Tai Chi as a commodity. Now Tiffany is in the business and this is just an AD. Dollars or SENSE!

  • steveuke - while i understand your feelings regarding the commodification of an art, I don't think it is necessary to criticize other teachers for doing what they need to do to teach and promote their art. Unless you are willing to pay another person's bills, I would refrain from criticizing them for how they make a living.

While you see an ad for a commodity, someone else might see a video clip that introduces them to something profoundly life changing. You never really know.

  • You can know - just ask...

  • This the Cheng Man Ching 37 posture "Short Yang" form that Wm C C Chen expresses as 60 movements (Body Mechanics of Tai Chi) It is an intricate variation of the form that Cheng taught is later years. Highly refined, smaller movements and in higher stances it does appear a bit like Sun. It is much less martial in some aspects than original the 37 posture form. I like them both. Truly we are all unique and capable of expressing our own natural ntrinsic character, even in a standardized set.

  • i am confused... when she says step out with the left leg, she is actually stepping out with her right leg? all the movements seem to be reversed.

  • there might be a delay in the audio when it went onto youtube. i trained at cc chens school . she's an awsome teacher as well

  • Yes it is reversed...often done as mirror image...Old school thought...Simple solution...WATCH IT IN A MIRROR AND THE AUDIO WILL MAKE SENSE...just more of Tai Chi's secret silliness and unwillingness to share freely. Too much of Tai Chi is NOW ABOUT THE MONEY. True teachers should know that GOD provides for those of the WAY. The lack of desire leads to abundance. Need is never satisfied and often leads to greed. Content need never borrow...TAO be the WAY. Be still and be rooted. Peace, steveuke

  • Beautiful form Tiffany. Is it a mixture of Yang with Wu and or Sun style? Very good direction and pace. Bravo!

  • Tiffany Chen is a Yang stylist. She is the daughter of Grandmaster William C.C. Chen.
