Great singer, and I agree, what a profile, perfect mouth, nose, cheeks, as beautiful as Shrimpton or Christie. As others have said, if you had a few hits you got a TV show, and one of the highlights of those shows were often duets with a guest, singing any song not just their own. It would work now I think, but how many can work with an orchestra live?

During the 60s, there were a category of singers that interpreted contemporary songs and sung beautiful cover versions. Shandie Shaw was one of those singers (along with Cilla Black, Johnny Rivers, and others). You could make a living doing that and singing the occasional original. Nowadays, noone could make a living doing covers. Who would be worth covering? Brittany Spears, the Jonas Brothers, and Miley Cyrus?
