here's my problem: i have a wireless connection in the apartment I'm in, and the landlord said "yeah go ahead it's free, here's the password" but when i click on it no password menu pops up (the computer calls it network key) it just goes straight to trying to connect. but i can't connect to it because i didn't put the password in. any thoughts would be appreciated.

@BGDD27 It may mean that you have tried connecting before and your password was saved. Try deleting the saved network then connecting again. This time it may prompt you to enter the password.

@MrShamps100 Sounds like the adapters' not connected properly. If it's USB, try removing it, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in. If that doesn't fix it, try reinstalling the drivers.

my adpter has 1 light which is link but not act. nothing installs when I put the adpter in the hard drive. I got wire to conect to the router.

the problem is that it doest work only work on my new computer i brought 2 week ago. It connects.

@eSeOmAr97 to fix this u go to menu>control panel>Administrative Tools>services & scroll down till u see Wireless Zero Configuration (should be at the end of the list) and look at the status if it says started and wireless still doesnt work right click Wireless Zero Configuration and click on restart this should work!

my laptop could connect to the internet via my wireless lan, but today I formatted my PC because it was too slow,so the only solution was to do it. Now I have 2 problems: 1st and most important is I can't connect to my Wireless LAN and 2nd my PC doesn't play any sounds. Can someone help me??

@MrDuckywell you should reinstall your network pci card's driver software maybe downloadable from its producer website and then you should set the wireless router settings and also on your pc you should set the wireless connection settings at the preferences of the wireless network tab. and for sounds you have to download your mainboard drivers and you can get to know what kind of mainboard in your machine with for example everest home edition free program or something. good luck

Open your Web Browser and Search for 'setup network xp'. Click the 1st Link and follow the Guide. If it doesn't work, try the 2nd Link and follow that Guide. If that doesn't work, try the 3rd Link and so on... It may take a few days, or even weeks of reading and experimenting, but you will definitely get there in the end, and learnt a lot about Computers in the process. Good Luck.

i got a strange problem i can connect to my router ok in the program i got with my wireless card but when i click on the network nothing is there :S and im running at 1mbps but it says signal is 100% the router is stoping it from connecting?

Sounds like your PC's connecting, but either the Password is wrong, or your Router is not issuing your PC an Internal IP address for some other reason. Your best bet is Google. Try a number of different Search Terms related to your problem.

I connect, then randomly a while later it says "*my home hub* is now connected" then it says the connection is limited or no connectivity. I repair, it works, then it all happens again! What can I do?
