Yo how much did you spend on this project and what type of batteries did you use direct volt or something else. Are those real car batteries i want an electric gokart by the way that an awesome motor noise .
This cart is insane. How many watts are you running cause i no the 50000 watt go cart makes about 70hp and just spins its tires (you have probally seen it) and they say it goes 60 just wondering. Im making an electric go cart my self with four 756 watt motors driving each wheel on independent suspention and was just wondering im posting a video of that soon
You are an astute observer. Yeah, the 50kW kart would probably smoke the Neurotikart, but he's geared lower in the video he posted. I'm putting a little less than half the power down, and I put larger rear tires on for even taller gearing. (Hence the "retro" look - think '60s hot rods) The thing that really does it for electric karts is the instant low end torque you get from an electric system. It sure makes them fun to drive.
For some reason I can't post the links but just click on my name to see my favorites. They are the only 2 electric go-kart ones I have. These guys are 2 brothers and are buddys of mine. I tried out this go-kart and it has crazy torque.
I see the D&D SePex motors come in13, 15, 16, 17, and 25 hp models among others. What was the rating on the one your using if ya know? Just trying to get an idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Incredible job on the kart by-the-way, i love the fact that you use gas pipe from a home improvement store to build em'.
The ES-33 I'm using is series wound, not SepEX (or shunt wound). I think the "rating" for the ES-33 is pretty low - maybe 5-6HP, but it's really a function of how much power you put into it with the controller and how hot you're willing to let it get. I'm getting a peak of about 28HP out of the motor, but I don't do that for long or I'd burn it up.
'be safe' lol, as he leaves for another pass with no helmet on. by the way, you have the maddest laugh I've ever heard.

Where I work, we use 4 yellow top optima s. Ours can get up to 40 miles an hour.

Does the motor drive both rear wheels or just one? Do you use any diff at all?
SevovBG 2 years ago
No differential. The belt drives both wheels through a solid axle - for some reason, it's called a "live" axle.

Good thing you had a good downhill to help you.! Nice kart, nice work, but change the video's name. I've seen faster and more powerfull on youtube.

You probably have, but where? I know there's a bit of bravado in the title, but that was the point. Post a link, please.
Oh, and the hill isn't nearly as steep as it looks. That's the effect of camera zoom.
