Leave Bill alone, he lost his wife and children and was tormented by his maker - he needs to be with his one and only love Sookie. He self punishes himself like he feels he doesn't deserve true happiness but he does. Sookie still loves him and can't seem him not existing in her world no matter how much she feels for Eric. You can still see the love between Sookie and Bill and it's just not there with Eric. Sorry!!!!
@TORI87DEC He self-punishes? How exactly? And most people on True blood have lost someone and got through bad stuff including Eric who lost his entire human family in one go, Sookie who's an orphan and saw her gran murdered, not to mention poor Tara, Lafayette with his crazy homophobic mother etc...
So really, Bill is not the only one with the benefit of a tragic backstory, and it doesn't give him any special rights to Sookie anyway...
I hate the way that Bill treats her, she says it perfectly " you have to trust me and stop thinking of me as a thing to be protected" gah he's soooo annoying and such a liar.,..
Bill cares more then he should he dosnet need eric northman jumping on his ass every minute and trying to blackmail him I mean he did try to blame bill for the blood rember so a bite in the ass always comes back to the one who started so blame eric
It's boring when you already what's going to happen...so let's enjoy the series and also respect each other's opinions about TB characters, all of them do a great job in portraying their own characters. I get sick and tired of people bashing each other and resorting to name calling just because someone disagrees, because I have seen it on websites, you are a "bitch" because you like Bill or Eric...goodness gracious, I feel we are acting like little bratty children. Let's enjoy the series period.
Sookie needs to invest in those plastic body bags the coroner has... and maybe an incinerator. Or a bunch of hogs. Poor thing has had so many dead people in her house. Once Gran bit it it was all downhill from there.
No matter how many times I watch that shower scene, I can't see the romance that so many Bill fans do. To me, it seems like I'm watching their relationship go down the drain with all that blood.
trust me, bill has done a lot of lying, but lets not act like Eric is a saint either.....they both play off of each other. Eric has been screwing up Bill and sookies relationship from the start. Eric has been the cause of a lot of their problems, but I do agree that Bill needs to man up and admit to what he did, and hope that sookie can try to forgive him, not sure I could though if it was me...but if it was me I wouldn't believe a thing Eric said either....just my opinion of course :)
I don't think Eric has anything to do with the reasons for their breakup... yeah he likes to mess with Bill, but the actual, deep problems were within their relationship.
To me Bill really is a tragic character in the that he is the cause of his own downfall. His self-hate feeds itself and leads him to do things he then regrets which brings more torment in a neverending cicle. he needs to stop blaming his nature and others, but easier said than done...
@beatricia87 i totally agree that Bill is a tradgic character. Eric has been trying to get them apart from the start though (ie the jessica situation, the dallas situation, the fact that he was going to kidnap bill but KRE got to him first, the queen situation, and then the finale of S3....imo that is all he has done is try to separate them. BUT i do agree that Bill is in a weird place. U are right he hates what he is, and is responsible for a lot of his problems.
Well, the kidnapping was just Eric executing orders from the queen, all because Bill somehow thought it was a good idea to blackmail Eric. The final revelation is not Eric's fault, and Eric had even told him he knew and given him time to come clean on his own, but obviously Bill had no intention to ever tell Sookie if possible... I don't get what you mean with "the queen situation" though....
But yeah, the Lorena thing in Dallas was definitely a move to stir trouble LOL
@beatricia87 I would have to go back and watch it but I was thinking that Bill blackmailed Eric to get him to stay away from sookie. Kind of pointless though cuz the queen was behind it all. I am not sure that Bill understood exactly what Eric knew....but you are right he shouldn't have chanced it and should have just told sookie. I totally agree with that. The way he went about it all was all WRONG. I think deep down he just didn't want to cause her any pain, didn't work out so hot lol
and by queen situation I meant Eric 'kidnapping' the queen and getting Hadley to tell him about sookie. I am sure he wanted to know for his own reasons so that he could get himself more in the middle of Bill and Sookies relationship. I am not sure how u can say the final revelation was not Eric's fault, because he told sookie. It wasn't his fault it happened but it was just another thing he did to get a dig in at bill. He didn't tell sook for any reason other than to pry them apart more. imo
@777sugarplumb Eric had many reasons to want to know about sookie's nature: first of all, because he is curious and fascinated by her. Secondly, at this point he knew something was up with Bill, and suspected the queen of being in cahoots with him, and now Russel wanted Sookie as well. He had to know WHY not just to to get the truth on Bill per se, but more importantly to ponder his next moves with the king, and along with that to protect Sookie as well.
The same is true for the reveal: he had previously told Bill that he knew, but didn't tell Sookie, thus giving Bill the time to come clean on his own, which he obviously didn't. And Bill repayed him by trying to KILL both him AND Pam.
Also, Sookie had asked him to tell her what he knew about Bill as well.
So at this point, knowing that Bill had no intention whatsoever of fessing up and would rather end him, and that Sookie wanted to know, what should eric have done??
Also, I should point out that at the moment, by letting Sookie know all of that, he doesn' make himself appear any more desirable to her than Bill. She values honesty above all else so she will maybe appreciate in the future, but right now it's just another strike against vampires in general....
He did it to punish Bill for his attempted double murder, and because he felt he had to, but certainly not just to ingraciate himself to Sookie.
@beatricia87 i think it is one of those things where our opinions just differ. I really don't see the Eric that you describe. I feel that he possibly has potention to care about sookie, but nothing that he has done so far leads me to believe that he cares about anyone but himself & pam. I think I am the minority on the Eric subject lol...I was not a fan of the books at all. I just can't find the good in Eric. I am not sure that Bill will ever be able to redeem himself but I hope he can.
Really?! You don't see he cares about Sookie? I think that's been made so clear at this point, even Pam sees it!
Just because he's subtle about it and doesn't make theatrical speeches about his feelings all the time like Bill, doesn't mean he doesn't have them LOL.
But yeah, if you still see no good at all in Eric we clearly have a completely different understanding of the whole show, so we might as well agree to disagree.
@beatricia87 like I said I think Eric has potential....i think he wants to care, he just doesn' t know how. I don't dislike his character, I actually think he brings a lot to the show. He is whitty and easy on the eyes. I just don't see the chemistry between Eric and Sookie. He has more chemistry with pam! But u are right we may have to agree to disagree lol i hate to say it but ...'yawn'...i think sookie had more chemistry with the Alcide the door mat....lol
@beatricia87 Eric tells Sookie probably for his own gain but mainly because he doesn't like Sookie being deceived... Sookie asks him sooo many times why she shouldn't trust Bill and this gives Bill such a big opportunity to be honest and he never is... Eric is very conniving but that is due to the fact that he has been a vampire for so long.. he has had to become like this in order to survive. He does however show many instances of hesitation in situations around Sookie...
Greeting girl, I agree with most of what you say, I think in essence none of the characters in the series are perfect. Bill is not perfect, and neither is Eric, and so forth. I know that there are many people who enjoy the books and are not "happy" with what Alan Ball done, since I know that most of them are fans of Eric.
I have never read the books, but I do like that AB is taking liberty in adapting the story, and I believe it's better, it keeps everyone on their toes.@777sugarplumb
Could they be more boring? They split, 5 minutes later they come back, fuck, an episode later he lies, they break... 10 minutes later he tells her a lame excuse and she returns to his arms, fuck again... it's annoying.
Oh billy your time is coming...im surprised your not blind with all of the lies u keep telling her...thank god seems she rescind his invitataion in the last episode....
C'mooon it's time 4 the true couple of the book not these 2.....
I haven't been watching this show so im confused someone please tell me why there is a file and why she thinks its bill or if it really is bills and why is he lying, and what is he lying about? PLEASE ANSWER!
@LoveAj03 basically Bill has a file on Sookie cuz the queen of Louisiana sent him to seduce her/try to get her for what she might be. The file is Bill's, but he's lying to Sookie that it's because Eric has such an interest in her that he has it. He's making it seem like Eric is the horrible one and himself the good one. Bill also kept something else from her...when they first met, Bill LET the Rattrays beat Sookie almost to death in order to give her his blood. It was all manipulation.
His lies are building up every week on top of each other. Jeez even when she called out his deceit he blamed it on Eric. Grow some balls and fess up Bill. This is gonna get ugly I see it coming. Sookie is a mad grudge holder.
That was such a great scene... And I love how Bill heals Sookie because he doesn't want her to have even a little scar (while other vampires would consider that a propriety thing). It's very hot and sweet and loving.
You can really see Anna & Stephen's chemistry!
Oh! And we still don't know exactly why Bill had the file, we don't know what Alan will do. If he does follow the books, I hope Sookie forgives him, because he really loves her.
"To find out Eric Northman's interest in you" Bill is such a liar it will come and bite him in the ass in the next episode, I hate him he is so BORING!!!

Alan Ball has raped these SVM books. It's vile and disgusting to see how much has changed for tv in order to allow Bill to be the hero. Just vile.
