Beautiful, I saw the film first on TV, the old one with Franko Zeffirelli Excuse the spelling as I am not sure about this) and the modern one with Leonardo De Caprio and they were both lovely.

Well, the story was not really written by Shakespeare, but he made a play of it. The story (including most characters) already existed, like most of his plays.

I watched this movie for the first time as a teenager in 1969...and I absolutely loved it, I still do! Great performances, great production, superb director! Oh, those were the days...

first time i ever saw a girl cry during a movie. was 1979 or 80. this came on TV. when Juilet kills herself. my sister (9 at the time) let out a loud (DON'T DOIT!!) and started crying like a baby. i've seen people with tears during a movie but i have never seen anyone cry like she did that day during a movie scene, before or since.

This is an awesome movie it is my favorite romantic movie. I first watched it when I was 19 (I'm now 48) and I cried at the end. This was a story done by W. Shakespeare, but based on a real young couple in Scotland between two waring clans. There's a castle in Scotland that promotes the original tale.
