The majority of the CO2 production inside China are caused by foreign companies who came to China and built their plants there while closing their plants back home.

So in a way, it is unfair to point the finger at China and claiming that they are the biggest polluter when they are not. The problem has simply moved from other countries to China.

If you look at CO2 per person, the picture becomes clear.

Coming from a guy who flys 2 Boeing 747's everywhere he goes... along with but not limited to the Marine helicopters that follow in other rather large military cargo planes.. and his Car.. now comeon! theres no way those things (Which follow him everywhere he goes as well in Other Military cargo planes) are fuel efficient.. yup lead by example =P jk. China has several Eco-cities in the planning, but here's the irony: One of firms in charge of planning and designing these green and cultural friendly Eco-cities is an American firm.

Statistically understanding of the picture is good but if you can't understand what are influences underneath, you don't see the truth of it. American consumerism needs customers, our tycoon's next generations do not have the drive like their parents sticking with you. They move, you have to move and you are locked. They need new market and lock more people. Why can Chinese pay your debt to these tycoons? Is it a nothing to something? You should find it out yourselves.

China will be the leading greenhouse gas producer in the world because trade policy pushes manufacturer's to build factories in China and factory emissions are the leading cause of greenhouse gases. From what I've seen and heard, Obama supports this trade policy and when China has finished wiping out all of the manufacturing sector in the U.S. he won't have any control over greenhouse gas emissions whether he becomes President or not.
