  • 2 people have never partied the sun up to good music on a country road.

  • o few guitaristss few,level

    , Dave Mosom, Broother Duane

    hell, yes

  • nothing I love better than a kick-ass guitarist playing laid back blues....(e.g.) Dave Mason, Joe Walsh some early Page, Trower, but this lead starting at 4:56, OMG, get on Dave

  • Probably wore this LP out. It was an important and wonderful part of my teens and twenties. And I STILL LOVE his music.

  • traffic compensation its a get through!

  • the trend in rock went to speed guitarist's, I love speed guitar, love speed guitarists playing slow even better, the 2 best slow rockers (screw EC) were Dave and Joe Walsh, I should probably throw brother Duane in too

  • Epic, epic guitar solo in the outro—and, no, it's NOT Eric Clapton, but Dave Mason, full stop.

  • @guitarwizard55 I also was there. Do you remember the "joker"? ThePoboyms61s

  • upon first listen turned the record over and over all afternoon and never tired of it. wow

  • !!! GOODDDDDD !!!

  • love Mason

  • sweet ass guitae solo. love Mason lpve Winwood

  • His solo is so hot!!!

  • my fav

  • love this song

  • Saw Dave front row at The Michigan Palace downtown Detroit 1972 he played this song note for note what a great concert it was. I'm a guitar player and the ending solo in this song in incredible.

  • The piano is the unmistakable Leon Russell

  • His 1st. solo album nailed it, then he kept it up with lots of great albums! "Every Woman" is another classic song, it goes on and on, man what a great artist!

  • A very under-rated guitar player.

  • It's the language of the heart........ but of course NOT everyone has one( a heart); right? Otherwise we wouldn't find any "dislikers" here...... LOL..

  • Thanks Dave! always in my memory!

  • dave mason is better than Clapton!

  • This is my favorite song. Don't care what else he ever did or has done, this work is PERFECT.

  • It does not get any better than this! That about covers it.

  • shame the comments are blocked , have tried to comment twice , in appreciation , but no recording /printing !of what has been written

  • The best..still own the great kaleidoscope album!!

  • Thank you WGOE radio (1590 on the AM dial ) in Richmond, Va. for giving me a music education back in the 70's. Dave was one of so many you introduced me to.

A doobie and a radio and I was good back then !

  • Hit this randomly and digging it.

  • I have loved this album since 1975! Dave is a Master!

  • Dave is one of the greatest guitarist ever!

  • As good as Winwood was...Dave Mason was the guts of Traffic....

  • Still have the lp "not for sale"

  • going to see dave mason and poco today 10/2 in st louis....gonna be a good show

  • 4:55+ One of the best solos ever.

  • @daven58100 The solo at the end is in my top 5!

  • I remember 35+ yrs. ago we used to drive out to a big hill in the country to get good radio reception and groove to station KAAY Little Rock Arkansas, with Clive Clifford DJ.Blew us all away when he played this album.Back then thats all he used to play.Just requested albums. Great times, and now you get just mainstream drivel at best. Thanks Clive!

  • Marble Colored Magic...the album vinyl looked liked a hot fudge sundae....and sounded sweeter than it looked......I still have i................t great POST

  • I knew that it was the beginning of the end for non-commercial radio when Brown University's WBRU started airing ads for Kent cigarettes (I quit smoking cigs in 1969- did I spell it right). BRU could only be heard within a mile or so, when they started. It was a Godsend radio station in the day. The only other station like it was WBCN in Boston. All the best stuff without the time limitations!!!!!

  • I've learned this tune about 3 1/2 decades ago and I'm jamming with dave again after all these years---AWSOME, same goes for Hendrix the Byrds and of course Jefferson Airplane and the entire 60's/70's crew. Us geezer types must pass on the magic. HENCEFORTH AND FORTHWITH jAM WITH EVERYBODY PLAY OUT AND WRITE NEW TUNES WITH THE SAME SPIRIT!!!!! I'LL BE LISTENING FOR YA!!

  • これも私の70年代ロックの扉を開けた!デイヴ・メイソン劇作"Look At You Look At Me"メイソン節の炸裂~超名作"アローン・トゥゲザー"

  • tripping into 70's,,,, Winwood was Traffic.... Mason was the glue holding him and it together...

  • tripping into 70's,,,, winwood was Traffic.... Mason was the glue holding him and it together...

  • Bought this album when it came out not knowing the vinyl would be such a great surprise. Then I heard the this song. Amazing! No flash - just great playing! I heard David Crosby on the 4 Way Street album emplore the crowd to yell louder. I was living in Newport, RI at the time and Mason was starting a US tour by playing Brown University. Had to see him and his great music. The students didn't respond as enthusiastically as I was so I yelled LOUDER and the crowd went wild. Encored twice!

  • Unfortunately, what passes for "classic rock" today is mainly top 40 rock. Back in the day this was "album oriented rock." Now, you have to go to XM or Sirius to come close.

  • ezywoo, can you put up "Just a song"?

  • daves solo on this should have made it to the 'top 100' guitar solos of rock and roll

  • @jazzkid66

yeah, it's a bit simple, but is strong and effective, and was early on so it was not a rip off of someone else. i remember that solo almost note for note decades later ... it's a classic.

  • thank you

  • Yes. I was in college when this album came out and it is an absolute "stunner." Great, great album. This is one of those rare albums that you've never heard and when hear it you say, "WTF is this? Where did this come from?" You say to yourself, "where have I been for the last ten years?" Then you put it on and listen to it 7 hours a day for the next two weeks and every time you do, you notice something else you didn't notice in the previous listen and then you play that part over five times.

  • Young listeners need to get their hands on this LP. It's one of the greatest rock albums of all time and rarely gets a mention these days. Dave puts on a great live show if you have the chance to see him.

  • @ezywoo great upload.this is the only studio version of this song on u tube.thanks.

  • @reg5381 i've got all the great songs from this album but had forgotten about this one. ironically, this was always my favorite one off of his album. how could i have forgotten this incredible song? thank you so much for posting and for the awesome quality in the recording. i'm blasting my system as i type this post!

  • So very good !

  • 'Has that "only you know and I know" thing going on....no wonder, with cast of Russell, D&B, etc. Just GREAT! And, I found out today Mason is British. 'Always thought he was American for some reason.....

  • @rocktenniscat Probably because he's been living in the States for almost 40 years. But he was an original member of Traffic, and is in fact British.

  • @rocktenniscat a lot of his songs, excellent as they are, have similar qualities. great guitar

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY today, Dave Mason. Raising a glass for you - one of my favourite songwriters/singers EVER. Your music will stand up forever.

  • I think of all the brain cells I left scattered in the wind listening to the lead on this song. How I miss these kind of riffs.

  • ブルーサム時代のデイヴ・メイソンの傑作、Look At You Look At Me!~メイソン節タップリ!

  • I was thinking of the old spice commercial...Look at you...now look at me...

  • Dave Mason at his best !

    Kick ass Album !

  • In the early 70s I bought my first really terrific stereo outfit. The guy from the store actually came out and installed it. Then he asked me what album I wanted to play to test it out, and it was this album. One of the best guitar and vocal albums ever.

  • Always liked this song. First heard it on WKLS 96 Rock Atlanta in the mid-70's. That was an awesome rock station that was only rivaled by the "Beaker Street" program on KAAY AM Little Rock, Arkansas. Good rock music that I still enjoy today!

  • The of the best LP'S ever made

  • @stumptown123 No doubt about it I wore out this album

  • "I am a outsider of no man"

  • I have mutti-colored vinyl!Priceless!

  • @553friday Aw geez, I have only black... but love it just the same

  • Boy, does this bring back some memories. Unbelievable classic album that never got it's due. This guy is insane. Had it all - rocking piano by Leon Russell totally inside out drums, organ, strumming acoustic guitar, fantastic vocals by Dave, and knock-it-out-of the park guitar solo by Dave himself, it never got any better than this.

  • @westernkevin I watched him play this solo in 72 he tore that place apart...

  • @westernkevin You said it all, Man!!

  • how come they didn't make the CD like the pizza album?

  • One of the all-time great albums by a great under-rated song-writer. Most definitely Eric Clapton does not play on this album. Dave is a good player but a better singer and song writer; he plays just right for his stuff, but he's not Eric Clapton.

  • I still have this album......in my opinion, one of the best albums ever released.

  • I still have this album....in my opion, one of the best ever released.

  • @Streetrodder53 .... Second that, Streetrodder53. Definitely, One of those High Holy.

Right up there with Steve Miller's Your Saving Grace. Brotherhood|Consciousness| Peace|Conservation

  • Me and my Sis brought our 4 children up on this and music like it... forget all the technical stuff - music is for listening and enjoying... We still love it and the vinyl will be out next week-end when I visit... We love ya Dave

Going up to see her next week-end so will get it out again!!! Forget all the hype and technical guff - just listen and enjoy that's what music is all about and it does stay with you forever and a day :-)

  • Love ya Dave canada jam 1978 Mosport Ontario and the Opera house August 2008 poorly promoted but your a true pro and did a fantastic show ! With the Carpet Frogs and your motorhome parked outside the venue and you came back for a beer in the Opera house bar aftre that show! Wow so down to earth ! Of course idiot JEFF talked to you the MORON ! LOLThat night 75 people NEXT day 5,000 in Buffalo Bravo DAVE !

  • One of the great "hidden gems" of all time. {Like Dr Sardonicus by Spirit.} I believe this album came out around 1973-74. I was a sophomore in college playing basketball, drinking, and smoking dope. I went to about one class a week and left early. I listened to this song for hours straight. They started a petition on the floor where I lived whereby if I played this song again I could be moved off the floor. This is Dave Mason on guitar. Eric Clapton had nothing to do with it.

  • @kentucy9999 amen....solo is PERFECTION... and 12 dreams of Dr Sardonicus was too.....I got a LIne I got a line on you Babe........its natures way of......................telling you

  • Dave Mason, Real cool cat...should get more attention....has great new music, which needs more air time....a American treasurer still playing...

  • Just heard it on the classic rock station in Detroit, WCSX, and forgot all about this song. Loved it from the gate.

  • MARBLE COLORED VINYL !!! LOOKED LIKE A HOT FUDGE SUNDAE.....didnt it>? what a nice album !!!

  • i never got around to buying this album when it came out. but i did score the rainbow vinal on ebay a few years ago. LOVE this album, one of the all time greats!

  • intelligent rock-n-roll :D

  • 4:55 -end. Sonic heaven.

  • Outstanding,, Thank you for posting this .

  • The fucked up part, CLASSIC ROCK RADIO never heard of this album!! If you didn't buy this album when it came out,you didn't have any money!!! ROCK WAS NEVER ANY BETTER !!!

  • @harstrib You got that right!!

  • @harstrib your so right I found this lp in the bargin bin not long after it was released what a gem

  • @harstrib amen but I heard my local FM station play it 70-74. Why did it stop?

  • @Unclemoparman ..Probably because FM radio was fast becoming ''commercial radio''...as in running alot of advertisement to pay for those ''great DJ's''..and starting to play HITS instead of album cut's that rock from bands that didn't make Rolling Stones acknowledged list of ''COOL''. Some Madison Avenue asshole dreamed up Classic Rock Radio in the 80's and the rest is history on killing us with Boston and Eddie Money every hour!

  • @harstrib I agree but, but after all is and done, we got a nice Dave lead

  • @harstrib WELL SAID <----

  • I have the Dave Mason Ultimate Collection cd and they list all the musicians on this song and Eric Clapton did not play on this song. The lead guitar is by Dave Mason.

  • This is one seriously bitchin' song on my all-time favorite album, Alone Together. Every one of dave Mason's songs are great.

  • I remember this album! It came in a tannish rainbow vinyl. Great post!

  • Decades of great music and great music for the decades.. Timeless.

I'm sure glad certain decades are behind me and never to return...

Thanks ezywoo and thanks Dave. Wish we could give back to you the greatness that you have given to us. We have been made rich all these years because of these gifts you have given to us.

Thanks man. May you enjoy the peace and the thrills that your grace of the muse has given to us. We love you dude. Take care. May the Son shine upon you at all times.

  • Late 60's ranking space and time without notches. Hard to keep track of monsters and Angels. Dave was there.

  • "As I turn 'round to look at you and you look back at me." = Incredible the rush that accompanies this happenin' after weeks of chasin' that way outta your league skirt! Rock on!

  • @PhiZappaCrappa kid, the message of this song/album was not aimed, nor had bearing, on anything related to the physical plane. This dealt with Conscious Contact. (there are many ways to reach you, though, you're far away. ....... someone's calling out to you. That's what Love is for.) Soul. .... not skirt. Wrong ears. ...... Open your Mind. ... Lift your Sight. .............. Alone/Together

  • @pnwoods Jeezus. You're so *deep*, dude!

  • his guitar after 5:00 is unbelievable...just puts me in a trance!!!

  • @cindyluq amen trance is a perfect word.....brings me to my knees everytime

  • @cindyluq i loved that part.. really i keep listening to it many times a day and it never gets boring. awsome... he makes the guitar cry beautifuly

  • I FKIN LUV THIS TUNE!!! Thanks for the memories! REALLY~!

  • really blows ma balls!kaban!

  • still great

  • This is the lead I cut my eye teeth on.

  • Thanks for the awesome upload. I really miss this album. Absolutely sublime guitar work. I use to follow his shows as a teenager in NYC, when he played the Fillmore, the Academy of Music and the Shaffer Music Festival in Central Park. Rock on, Dave!

  • LOVE DAVE MASON!!! :)

    Sweet live!!

Great vid :) thanks ezywoo for the upload!

  • the solo at the end is by eric clapton!! the liner notes say so.

  • @WizardofFuzz Erm, ending solo was by Dave, not Clapton. The licks are in Dave's clearly recognisable style, not EC's.

  • @gonzogourmet oh well ok... however, it's a great song+solo

  • Comment removed

  • A great song from a great album of 9-10 cuts, all written by Dave Mason. When I found a pristine copy of this a couple of years ago I played it almost daily for months. Funny how you never hear anything but Only You know and I Know on the radio, if that. So many great memories from the time...now so much of it hits a little too close to home. "I miss you like I miss the Sun." Wow - Amen. Peace and Thanks Dave

  • great , great song!!!

  • one of the best songs EVER from an amazing album "Alone Together"! too bad cannot get a decent live verson:(

  • Ageless....timeless will always be my favorite ... there isn't time to hang around anymore...

  • Used to be one of my FAVE albumns. Go DAVE!!!!

  • Good selection ezywoo, I have always enjoy Dave Mason. Hey Dave thanks for the music
