A black hole is not a point in space -- it is a region with a mathematical "border" that defines "space inside" and "space outside" of the event.

@hartejoseph Don't even need to go as far as quantum vacuums. Not all models even have a singularity at the start of the universe, and those that do, do so under General Relativity, which breaks down in such exotic conditions. Once Quantum Gravity or other competing theories are completed and tested, they may show no singularity. Hell, perhaps it might even show that you can make a black hole spill it's guts under the right conditions.
