If it is rationally possible that God had to destroy them before they destroyed all of mankind, then it is not a solid argument against God's omni-benevolence. Personally I can, that despite it being horrible, that it could be used for good. Although this is a challenge to the benevolence of God, I can see how God can be omni-benevolent and still do what He did.

See, this is where you are not listening. Who said there are contradictions? Did you actually look each of them up and verify them? IT is a very unique book. I have read the bible. It didn't convince me of any christian god any more than reading old finnish poetry could convince me of the existance of old finnish gods. Besides, christians don't agree on what the bible means, so obviously it's not very clear in it's message.

Yes the original scouts that returned from checking out the promised land reported Nephilim. Which is why they were afraid to enter - which is the sole reason God made them wander 40 years. So you could also argue that the Canaanites were corrupted genetically and not human.
