  • that's the correct way to do dips,no need for locking out,locking out only gives you joint pains,pains in you "joint".

  • Thanks, but I know I could do more, I think its the cold air. That is this park near me(I call it the Corny park), cuz I'm the ONLY ONE hittin the barz out there. Everybody plays b-ball and handball, but its a ghost town on the bars.

  • dont get me wrong, this was a great effort but you dont lock your elbows and that just doesnt count for me :/

  • Nah I respect your opinion, but contrary to what some may say, that's not a good practice, esp with high reps. I don't lock elbows bc there is no extra muscle benifit from doing so, the contraction/extension at that 120degree angle is where you reaped the gains. Plus your elbows are way more fragile than your bi/triceps and that lock out with your weight does more damage than good to the elasticity of the tendons and cartilige in that area.

  • Same holds true in other exercises like squats for instance. It used to be taught, that the correct way was to go all the way down(80deg bend) then straight up locking your knees. Not anymore, doing that causes premature wear on your joints and I'm trying to be doing this well into my 50's. But like I said, I respect your opinion, so don't think I'm upset or anything, I'm just informing you on the info I read/told for years.

  • @Aethornia I don't think it matters if his way of dips doesn't count for you. Until you have a video showing the "proper way" of dips. Either way In any excersize it is bad for your joints to lock them. X-CALI-BAR MEMBER OF THEBARUNION. HOLLA

  • I wouldn't call 49 lousy because some people can't do 9 dips. Stength and muscle endurance is 2 different things. I know your strong and maybe like me lack the muscle endurance. But I know you probably did only 49 just for your warm up. LOL.

  • Your definitely right, i need to work on the endurance aspect, cuz i feel i burn-out quickly. Yo i walked to the park with the vest on did some jumping jacks, then did the dips 3 times. Afterwards my arms were like noodles, so i did legs & abs that day.

  • Wow nice job. Also like the dedication of getting out in the snow. I think I might have had a shot at the 101 push ups but I could not even get close on the dips.
