@kbj42016 Not a Jimmy, but a Blazer (like there's a difference). I did put it in the mud, but I didn't get on camera and I have since sold it... Thanks for the comment...
@cholmes1990 I wouldn't say a 2wd drive is better. It might get better gas mileage, but other than that I would take the 4X4. (Especially a 4X4 with 2 lockers!) At this particular angle the 2wd with locker worked out better... Thanks for the comment and chud327 for more.
@cholmes1990 My mom had a blazer just like the lifted one and it was seriously crappy off road, which is interesting, there's no evident reason for it to be, but it got stuck anywhere that wasn't paved it seemed like. (and it had limited slip too)
@YamahaWR200 Call it what you will, I call it great! But is not something that I was turn on and off, it what came from the factory... Thanks for the comment.
@chud327 I wasn't knockin' it.. It is great and i'm jealous.. I just don't know why you would spin, let off the gas and then just pull away no problem and no spinning.. I just don't understand how it is working...
@YamahaWR200 Hey, thanks for the comment and be sure to check out chud327. I have several other videos of this Blazer going through the ditch and getting some front air time...
well i just test drove the jimmy yesterday and it has the QU4 rear diff code which is the 3.08 gears, open differential.....i guess i will just have to go aftermarket for one. Oh well, it shouldn't be too expensive, hopefully under 400 or so.
@chud327 i think the option code for blazers/jimmy's to get the limited slip in the rear is a G80, it should be on a list/sticker in the glovebox, drivers side door jam..... i am not sure, could you check and find out where exactly that RPO (option codes) are? I am about to buy a jimmy, and i would like to know where this is because i may not get the change to get the tires spinning to test for limited slip during a test drive
@tbirdsport302 wish I could help you, but i have already sold the thing. I don't see why you can't test the rear end during a test drive, I would let you...
@chud327 yeah thats what i might just have to do, hopefully there will be a piece of wet pavement around that i could just floor it and see if the rear end slides out at all. But i really hope that code list is still in the glovebox though, this jimmy i'm lookin at is 2wd, and an open diff would not get me anywhere on any incline in snow or anything damp lol, i suppose worst comes to worst i can always have a 4x4 shop install one, i have found them as cheap as about $260, not too bad
@tbirdsport302 Try it several times... Mine would spin all day, but when you let off and tried again that is when it would lock up. Check out all of my locker videos and you'll see what I am talking about. Thanks for the comment and good luck...
@redburro88 Same principle, to make both tire spin together and not have one resting when you really need it. Posi might use clutches or something and a locker is more like gears meshing or locking together...
i see what your getting at but in the winter time or offroad in almost any application a 4x4 will get you through. im sure you could have changed th angle of approach and made it withouth an issue
@boobsmaster Surely I could have made it, but I purposely hit the ditch at the wrong angle to exaggerate my need for lockers. (one front and one rear tire in the bottom) I also hit it purposely bad with the 2 wheel drive to show how great a locker is, exemplified by pulling the front tire off of the ground and still making it. The ultimate would have been to put the locked rear end under the 4X4... Thanks for the comment and check out chud327 for more.
@chud327 ...then I think that I need a... "Locker" rear-end as you called it ? 'cause my '87 S-10 4x4 does the exact same thing even in 4-Low in L-1 ...
I had a 99 2wd s10 4.3 longbed, and it had some heavy duty package, it had some type of limited slip, cuz i could go anywere a 4x4 could go on trails, except for real deep mud.
@cobra96svt570 I thought it was a locker, but it maybe a limited slip, but I do know that it make a world of difference. Be sure to check out my other limited slip videos on "chud327" and thanks for the comment.
I believe that it is a locker, both back tire lock together and spin together. You can feel it when it locks in, and I don't think a lsd would spin freely like you see. Check out "Chad's Stock 2 Wheel Drive Blazer Locker Test" for further evidence...
I took about an 8' peice of angle iron and bolted it through the lift kit to the frame on one Blazer on this Blazer I strapped the angle iron to a cargo carrier. Then mounted the camera through a hole in the other end. Check out "S-10 Blazer V8 (For Sale - $3000) trying to wallow out a tiny mudhole." & "A Little Mud Slinging in my Blazer", to see more footage from my camera mount.
how u get the camra to hold with the truck?

@sonicxlc123 8' angle iron strapped to the cargo carrier, a hole in the other end, and a bolt to the camera...

was that actually a locker or a limited slip? It didn't seem to act like a locker unless you were turning it on and off...
