just love this song. VHII is a magisterial and dark metal rock masterpiece. This song is one of those gems that many don't know about. That and the wicked 'romeo's delight'. i don't think you even have to be a guitarist to appreciate the VH/roth era, i find them musically appealing, as a multi-instrumentalist and a musician who can switch his 'musician's ears' off (linear), and just go by feel. VH has that 'badass' exuberance that is infectious. Yeah, baby!
My first Van Halen concert on this tour in 1979 Chicago....or was it 1980?..I was stoned outta my mind back then LMAO All downhill from here...they ruled until the Scorpions made them look terrible at the US Festival in 83....There was a newer band that day too...Motley something?.../sarcasm
@hotweel64 DUDE...what up!?? I was there! at The Coliseum, too! Remember when you could just smoke and smoke pot right out in the open!?? Do you remember a guy throwing firecracker up on stage and Roth stopped the show and said "The next mother fucker who throws a firecracker up here.....I'm gonna fuck his girlfriend!!!"... priceless
pedoncule123 you ungrateful fuck. This song is hard as shit to find live. Nobody owes you shit. be glad you can hear the mighty van halen doing this number live for FREE on youtube.
@dmohr7 just read a few weeks back that he was battling just that. Staying in tune and the floyd was great... but it is true, just shortly there after the locking nut came out ! Kool catch !!
Eddie was 24 in 1979...amazing. When I was 24 my band was uhhh...not as good. :O) And yes, amaizng photo, never scene it before...Edward in top form the guitar god in the flesh. The fire extinguisher on the drums is all time.
