I just can`t swallow this amp. It`s just cheap version for the kids so they feel like rockstars... Buy your self Mesa Mark IV or V and I can promise you, you will f`n burn this amp, kick it and throw it through the closed window.
hey whats in between the amp and the cabinet? im trying to learn about all the equipment and such. are you plugging the head straight into the cab or whats going on? haha i see legit euipment on stage and wonder how the head or head(s) can be so far away from the cabs. how is this possible?
@tygolf11 I have in the rack below the head...a wireless system,a parametric eq,a 31 band eq,and a hush 2 system to keep the noise down...I run my head directly into the cab as usual...run the effects through the effects rend and return...mostly the return only though...
ok i was dead set on a bugera 333xL until i played this and i was hooked yes a bugera is everything we want but this has more versitly than the bugera and in all honesty can sound just the like the bugera if you know what your doing.. what mainly sold me was the fact that it was a tube amp (yes its a hybrid) but dude it sounds amazing... I run Spider Valve HD100 thru 2 marshall cabs and it will blow your mind im talking older marshall cabs but new ones will work... its worth the money. :)
@UltimateDud ..in all honesty...no..I want a Bugera 333xl or a peavey 6505 plus...played them and they are BRICK...solid heavy amp and anything in between also...enjoyed playing them...and for the price the Bugera blew my mind..I could buy two of them and run in stereo or piggy back them and KILL with that tone....
@KennethRMullins Are the bugrera and peavy in the same price range Mate? i been lookin at these AMPS. WANT ONE SOON. BUT A BLOKE AT ANOTHER STORE IS PUSHING ME TOWARDS A PEAvy vypyr. there a bit cheaper but it doesnt seem to have as gooda metal sound as the line 6. are you fimiliar with the vypyr amps?
@TheShiellsy ..I have been leaning towards the Vyper myself...I have watched a number of vids on it and they sound great..the Bugera 333xl also sounds killer in the videos..Watch videos from Dingle1...he is awesome using the Bugera....
@MasterOfHalo4 Im still wonderin weather to just bite the bullet and buy a mesa boogie duel rec and live off 2 minute noodles for the next 6 months. I cant find anything that comes close to the sound
@UltimateDud I play metalcore/deathcore, and I would buy this amp over and over again. The bigger brand names like Peavey, Mesa and such you're really buying the name IMO. I can get the same sound out of this amp that I could out of those with a little tweaking.
Nice demo Ken! You should put some of those ideas on a demo, very cool vibe on those riffs Bro. I'm buying the Line6 Bog head next week; thanks for helping me make up my mind!
@KennethRMullins in my opinion if u want a metal tone lose the les paul there rock guitars not metal. get a ibanez or schecter or jackson or something made for metal, i used to own a epiphone sg and yes played metal with it thought it sounded great, until i got a schecter hellraiser c-1 with 81/85 after 5 minutes of playing it, with stock strings i never wanted to pick up my epiphone again so i sold it, now i have my personal prefered strings on it. 100x better again
@eXkillswitch11 I had a Screamin Demon. Despite the name, it's kind of a "polite" pickup. It's not nearly as powerful as the D Sonic, or say a Duncan Invader. Pretty mellow, to be honest. It's made more for the 70's and 80's type tones, like Aerosmith, Dokken (of course), Kiss, ZZ Top, Zeppelin, etc. Nonetheless, it's a really decent pickup.
really good but i would say more of an 80's metal sound judging on the riffs. The chording and the clean sound was killswitch-esque. I still really like the playing. It is great to see someone older than 16 who likes killswitch.
u got tht beutiful schecor in the back and u play the les paul. makes zero sense jk its a personal choice i guess but nice job it sounds nice keep it up man
@KennethRMullins thank yoy very much its a kind of sound id like for one of my songs thakns again man .... oh how much cost de spider ¡'?¿?¿¿? the line 6 i mean
now... ive got a question that im trying to find an answer to but no one knows.
i have a marshall jcm 2000 dsl 100 head. and im running a pedal board for effects.BUT i want this head cause i love the presence and the effects in it.
is there anyway i can use this head and my jcm head at the same time (meaning effects for this head and rest from my jcm. or just to add a little extra kick with distortion when i want to play some serious stuff. threw a single. 4x12 cab while using a pedal board
@justin0185 I'mnot real sure but have you tried slaving it...or you can divide your cab. into a 4x12 into a2x12...2 speakers for each head and an A B box to switch or use both at the same time.... maybe try that...like I said not sure never had to rewire a cab to do this....
@triackdaddy95 Those are pinch harmonics... the "squeelies" badass stuff when you use them right. its the way you pick the string, kinda hard to explain but basically your letting the side of your thumb hit the string just a little in the milisecond after you pluck the string... better examples if you google it.
Killswitch my ass...nice playing, but I still don't think line 6 is all that on the up and with this whole idea of tone modeling. The Peavy Vypr series is waaaay better for pulling off Killswitch Tones. In fact the ValveKing hits it perfectly. Or bettter yet just get a Mesa Dual Recto. You have a really excellent hard rock style with some gritty metal-u should try a Krank-ud shine even more dude.
Great vid man pretty good tone. I'm lookin to buy my first stack i've got this amp in a 1 by 12 40 watt combo sounds great but I just don't know what to get. What stack would you go for the line6 Marshall bogner etc.
Thankx for commenting..if you have the amp..just go to the killswitch engage preset...that's all I used with the exception of what's in my rack...there is a sonic maximizer in it and it really helps clean up the amp and fattens it up at the same time
sir does this amp have more gain and chunk than a marshall jcm 900 and a crate blue voodoo head i need an opinion asap i figure u never need any effects or preamp rack gear to model the amp sounds or have to stomp on any thang i want modern judas and priest and metal tones i have the ctrate tube blue voodo and never actualy turned gain past 6-7 i may turn to 8-10 it has tone of high gain maybe keep and use the line 6 why waste great amp cuz i want another one
A crate blue voodoo is wicked, same with the Crate shockwave. in my band, I play the Crate shockwave 3500H - other guitarist plays through this Line 6 spider valve. he paid 1400 for just the head, I paid 250 bucks for mine.. mine sounds much better (lower end, LOADS of power, and the "shape" knob really lets you define your tone with the EQ). His amp hums and feedbacks so much, honestly for the price.. its not worth it. If your gonna spend 1400, get a peavey 6505+ or 5150.
dude i gotta question, i got the same shit and i just got the feeling, that it isnt the highest gain coming out of this thing, i always feel, that the tone is too... hm, should i call it "warm?" i need it very heavy and that thing u know? how can i get the best and most out of this thing? hope u can help me. !
this is a nice amp that you got, i tried one out and theyre real nice but youve got to admit it just doesent beat a good ol tube amp, but you rock man so keep on rockin!!
Thanks for being so cool about it. I know I was out of line, and got caught up in the moment. Cheap shots are never cool. Forget what I said, accept maybe the downpicking for some more intense "crunch" in your tone. Alternate picking is fast, but I have learned that downpicking with palm mute is just way more of a "brutal" crunch. I you are going for that. Time for either style I guess in a song/riffs. My buddy just got that amp and it's nice. Keep on rockin' METAL
Well, your right chrismortloch, That was an A hole thing to say. Sorry kennethrmullins for being so harsh on you, you rock out pretty good actually. I thougt it was funny at the time, but it was uncalled for and mean to say.
I never took any offense to what you said...you get people on here who share their ideas to the public and public scrutiny...so it is what it is...no problem and no offense was taking...I'm sure you said what you felt and should not have to apologize for how you feel.... just a comment is all it was and if I can't take the heat I better get out of my kitchen lmao Ray
First of all, if you want to be "Metal"...get rid of the Grandma, frilly lace tablecloth on the pc desk...and you gotta get rid of that horrible fried out mullet hairstyle.....oh man, the 80's are over, and your and old dude, get a haircut and let go of the past. It's over, just accept it. The tone of your amp sounds riddled with effects like chorus, reverb, ect. Get rid of everything, and play straight up distortion, and use some downpicking, not just alternative picking, then it might be heavy
There have been afew ppl that have said that this amp isn't that loud and that the Line 6 HD147 solid state is actually louder...i couldn't imagine that the solid state would actually be louder, although I have not tried this amp out personally. what is you opinion?
I could have bought this head for $600 CDN used but mint
But tried one out in the store and HATED the sound I got out of it. Not to mention it was the 2nd since the first one shit the bed 5 min into me trying it out
I really wanted to buy this but with the one that died and the raspy tone I really am gun shy now
I agree. I had a 5150II and well it was good for one tone. This thing sounds just as good and actually has a clean channel, and the effects aren't bad either!
a good starting point for an original tone isnt by shelling out thousands, hundreds, or any amont of money for someone elses. a good starting point for an original would be browsing until you find one u like
If you're gonna play like that, check out the band Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. I think you'll LOVE them. :) You was playing VERY similar to their style and tone.
i f*cking love this amp. i bought it back in january, and i havent let it go since. very great amp, it screams like your mother, and sounds great for death metal.
Fuck yeah! LOVE the clean section. It reminds me of old Chimaira. Check that band out if you don't know them. A little more hardcore than KSE, but Rob Arnold is a freakin genius. Check out their song "Six" for great guitar work. But my fav part in this vid is when you kick back into the metal! I rewound it like 100 times. You've got flavour for DAYS BRO!
Stop putting a downer on this guy's ballsack and shorts, if any of you are half as cool as this guy at his age I will eat my own ball sack. In reality you will be listening to shite and your kids will hate you.
judging by what you're playing it sounds like you had only heard killswitch's newer stuff. check their older stuff. nice, simple, straight up heavy riffing.
ken, I tried to send u a message but it wouldnt let me......Will this head keep up with a band?????? Is it really LOUD?? My band plays Hardcore/punk....our practices are really loud.....so are our live performances.........Does this head have the nuts to keep up??
LOUD?!? Thisa amp is the loudest amp you will EVER own!! I have it and I never put it past vol. 1 and it screams!! I actually had to have a custom volume box made for it out of California. Also no need for ANY effects pedals anymore this thing is loaded with EVERY tone you can think of. They sent it to 200 major players and had them set presets for it, it's crazy. I play Van Halen / Ozzy / BLS / Pantera and the squeals will ring out FOREVER!! Best amp I have ever owned in my 17 years of playing.
is the delay. the delay on this is pretty unversitile compared to an actual delay pedal. my only want/need after this amp is a delay pedal and maybe a dl4
I'm not Ken but I can answer. YES!. 100 watt tube amps are pretty standard. This thing would destroy. You can even do a show with a combo amp; half stacks just look sick though. So yeah, I would get this. You'll melt faces at volume 1 or 2 probably.
nice Jimi Hendrix SWAG. good vid. how much does this amp cost? ive been a big fan of line 6 for a long time. i just wish they made a tube version of the flextone in a full cab.
I think 799 or 899 I'm not sure because when I bought it I had a 15 % off coupon and they took another 10 % off because I order so much stuff fro musicians friend...
I just can`t swallow this amp. It`s just cheap version for the kids so they feel like rockstars... Buy your self Mesa Mark IV or V and I can promise you, you will f`n burn this amp, kick it and throw it through the closed window.

Scornedbydeth 2 years ago
it's loud.....trust me
KennethRMullins 2 years ago
i have no idea where you would hear that it isnt loud... most i've ever had to turn it up is a little past a quarter way. its a great rig.

But tried one out in the store and HATED the sound I got out of it. Not to mention it was the 2nd since the first one shit the bed 5 min into me trying it out
I really wanted to buy this but with the one that died and the raspy tone I really am gun shy now

I really liked the jam you had that main riff is very addictive! What make is your Les Paul? It's not a Gibson is it? Sounds good!

No...it's an older Tradition with a Dimarzio Drop Sonic in the bridge

Niice tone.
I had a 6505 until i traded it for the spidervalve...Best decision of my life
This amp has such a solid tight lowend with a 1960 cab (and much less noisy and much more clearer than the 6505)
Chrelizorter 2 years ago
I agree. I had a 5150II and well it was good for one tone. This thing sounds just as good and actually has a clean channel, and the effects aren't bad either!
briansteedman 2 years ago
Has a Scharlotte the harlot from Maiden type of feel to it.
I like what I hear

pree sick tones dude, I def see what you mean by the Killswitch idea. \m/
GrooveMasterPatches 2 years ago 2
who cares about killswitch engage tone?
we should worry or put as much time, money, and effort into making something original...nota copy
8x26x08 2 years ago
cuzz killswitch has really sweet tones..
I'm not praising people who spend thousands replicating peoples rigs..
Its just not a bad idea to take someones tone and use that as a starting point for your own =P
Nice tone out of that head by the way
Really like the sound coming out of these spider valves
bruisedorange6 2 years ago 2
a good starting point for an original tone isnt by shelling out thousands, hundreds, or any amont of money for someone elses. a good starting point for an original would be browsing until you find one u like

KennethRMullins 2 years ago
hey man what kind of cab do u suggest for that head i was thinking of a marshall 1960a or something with celestion vintage 30's in it
shred902 2 years ago
The amp is voiced for the vintage 30's
KennethRMullins 2 years ago
very nice tone!!! and awesome playing. love it
glaurung26 2 years ago
If you're gonna play like that, check out the band Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. I think you'll LOVE them. :) You was playing VERY similar to their style and tone.

i f*cking love this amp. i bought it back in january, and i havent let it go since. very great amp, it screams like your mother, and sounds great for death metal.
corp769 2 years ago
I really want the Spider Valve i have a spider jam as of right now, but i plan on buying one sooner or later, it sounds perfect.
Great playing though man keep it up, i wish i was as good as you
n00bsm00thie 2 years ago
you should check out the as i lay dying tone whenever i have the grace of jamming on a line 6 that is the tone i choose and its a sick tone
diaryofthedead 2 years ago
Are you using any additional effects or is it the pure sound of the line 6 spider ? Sounds very nice :)
JakeCarls 2 years ago
I have a BBE Sonic Maximizer and some EQ...everything elese is the line 6
KennethRMullins 2 years ago

In reality you will be listening to shite and your kids will hate you.
rev0lut10nz 2 years ago 2
judging by what you're playing it sounds like you had only heard killswitch's newer stuff. check their older stuff. nice, simple, straight up heavy riffing.

That was awsome Ken - good job :-)
sh856531 2 years ago
ken, I tried to send u a message but it wouldnt let me......Will this head keep up with a band?????? Is it really LOUD?? My band plays Hardcore/punk....our practices are really loud.....so are our live performances.........Does this head have the nuts to keep up??
Thanks
mattd9031 2 years ago
Best amp I have ever owned in my 17 years of playing.
faithycoins 2 years ago
i own one as well
with the matching celestion vintage 30s cabinet
but the thing i disagree on
is the delay. the delay on this is pretty unversitile compared to an actual delay pedal. my only want/need after this amp is a delay pedal and maybe a dl4
nikiHXM 2 years ago
I'm not Ken but I can answer. YES!. 100 watt tube amps are pretty standard. This thing would destroy. You can even do a show with a combo amp; half stacks just look sick though. So yeah, I would get this. You'll melt faces at volume 1 or 2 probably.
michaelmseventyseven 2 years ago
nice Jimi Hendrix SWAG. good vid. how much does this amp cost? ive been a big fan of line 6 for a long time. i just wish they made a tube version of the flextone in a full cab.
5 stars!!
joshlwilson 2 years ago
I think 799 or 899 I'm not sure because when I bought it I had a 15 % off coupon and they took another 10 % off because I order so much stuff fro musicians friend...
