  • yes he is indeed a 3 dimensional object

  • Nas pano

  • it's called foam core. Any art supply store sells it.

  • That white board he's got with the different shaped holes, does anyone know what they're called? Can they be bought, or is it just something you make?

  • The cut out version is home made and the design is called a cukaloris

  • Thanks, Walter. Your videos are awesome. Can I still get your DVD? I'm shooting a feature next month and can use your help. Where can I get it, and how much, and how long will it take to arrive?

  • Thanks so much for the tips, YOU HELP ME!!

  • I am going to try to work on the lighting of my subjects in my upcoming movies! Thanks so much for the tips!

  • Too hectic, bad cuts

  • I guess you didn't get that this is not THE ACTUAL video, only a teaser to it. The real video does not cut as this does.

  • He's trying to sell his vid - Its looks very useful- I've done a bit of lighting on many TV commercials and Music Vids ,he knows his stuff.

  • @e3ovuziotica bhahaah you idiot

  • It sure seems like you're using a 3-point lighting setup...key, fill, backlight.

    Just an observation.

  • I'm showing two variations of what has become the common way of doing television head shots so from this you may get the notion that it's simply a three point scenario.

  • For God's sake put some trousers on, those shorts are beyond the pale!

  • Ignore the man behind the curtain. :)

  • This is a complete waste of time watching as every time the narrator is about to explain something, the film cuts to another topic. If this is supposed to be a teaser for an instructional video, then you need to show us some of the gems of information so that we can decide how valuable the full video is. As it is, this doesn't tell me how good a teacher you are. It just irritates.

  • Then you don't have to buy it. I get nothing but rave reviews from those who have purchased it, form every continent in the world. I'm happy with it and I'm a great teacher.

  • That may well be. But it's impossible to tell from this video. You may be a great teacher, and even a great photographer. This video doesn't give your potential customers the opportunity to find that out.

  • It's a hobby to teach so if they don't get it, that's okay too.

  • weird hairlight/girl fetish! Good work I want this dvd but am not convinced theres anything on it I can't get for free. Obviously loads more convenient to just watch your DVD but I am moneyless after discovering all the diferent lights I need to buy!

  • the video is not complete ...irrritante shit bro

  • No it is not. The actual video is 46 minutes long so can't be fully posted here.

  • Why don't you finish your sentences? Frustrating!!

  • You mean why did I edit this so that I finish what I say? It's only a highlight of the video, that's why.

  • Yeah... and you could get that guy rehearsing on his Casio home keyboard to shut the F**K up, for crying out loud!!

    Lift music!! Arrrrhhhggg!!

  • You ramble alot but you know what you're doing. I enjoyed your article "Building a Compact Lighting Kit" in DV Magazine (April 2004 issue) - Keep the classes coming -

    Nice work!

  • Yea I do ramble. Funny thing is that when I take the rambling parts out people say I'm not giving them everything so I leave them in. If I leave it in, folks say I ramble. An indie film magazine recently voted one of my DVD's as one of the four must-have DVD's. The author said I could have cut out a lot of rambling stuff on the DVD but at the same time he said it's the little stuff that you want to hear too. So if I leave it in I can't win and if I take it out I can't win.

  • The rambling isn't bad I do it myself alot - it shows you are a sincere person. I made a documentary on 'Daytona Bike Week' - I carried a DVX 100 in my saddle bag on my 1952 Harley and filmed as much as I could (Interviews/chicks/racing/bikes galore) - maybe we could swap DvD's? I will eventually show small clips on You Tube when I finish my site so people know where to buy it. - Thanks either way

  • does anybody know any good vid's that show you how to keep proper lighting on somebody while as they're walking toward you for example?

  • I would think that if you have watched this DVD you should have a good idea how lighting works with any situation and should be able to improvise from the tips he's given you.

  • I chek your video always and i wait for more.

  • Plz put more video of how light.

  • Thanks a lot. It was useful for me.

  • I have this DVD and always reference it. A must have.

  • This video gives us the absolute fundamental tools for photographing a person for your narrative film, or interview video. Walter reveals nearly every trick in the book for doing this effectively and within a very small budget. Someday, I hope to own the whole series.
