O herói do jogo foi goleiro Gilmar. Para aqueles que não sabem, o árbitro apitou tres penaltis absurdos contra o Corinthians, mas dois deles o grande Gilmar defendeu. Daí os abraços e autógrafos para os suecos, ao final da partida.

Para governo de muitos, quero informar que estes dois jogos fizeram parte da excursão que o Corinthians fez em 1952 à Europa. Ainda nã aclimatado, O Corinthians perdeu o 1º jogo para Besiktas da Turquia por 1 x 0, mas depois não perdeu mais:foram 15 jogos invictos!

O 1º jogo foi contra o AIK Solna, em 14 de maio de 1952, em Estocolmo, na Suécia. A partida terminou empatada em 3 a 3 e os gols do Timão foram de Cláudio e Jackson (2). No 2º jogo o adversário foi o Djurgårdens, em 16 de maio, tmb em Estocolmo, e o Timão saiu vencedor desta vez, 3 a 2, gols de Jackson, Goiano e Cláudio, de pênalti.
