@darkie83 :) im not usually into lore but warcraft/WoW lore was just incredible and the nerd inside me is proud to say i have played this game haha. but i think its glory days are over. like you said arthas was one of the greatest characters in...just about anything and a lot of others feel the same way to now it feels like the game is just dragging on which is why i quit as of last week

So no, the Lich King did not destroy the heart himself, for the obvious reason it would leave him weakened of power for a time.

The sad thing is that most of the WoW players dont know or even care the story behind Arthas or any of the storyline and lore of Warcraft. Dude I care. Arthas being Lich King, Frostmourne really has a base of storyline in WOW. Especially Wrath of the Lich King. But the funny thing is, You get to see Illidan even though he's dead lol.
Indeed. They should make Warcraft IV and return Warcraft to it's RTS roots instead of just making these crappy WoW expansions that are raping the storyline and lore. I so wished the intro to WotLK would have been the intro of WC IV....the story would have continued right from where it ended in WC III: The Frozen Throne.
Some day we WILL see Warcraft IV and the story&lore will finally go on as it should. That day may be years or even a decade away but that day will come, trust me.
It will be really hard to go back to the RTS though, because WoW changed most of the original lore and landscape, and many of the major characters like Illidan and Kel'Thuzad are dead.
Yea, but that's why they really need to ignore most the stuff that "has happened" in WoW...I mean how they are supposed to tell the death of Illidan, Kel'thuzad and other major characters?...that some group of raiders killed them? no they need to ignore all that, they need these characters alive if they want to create anykind of story, you are right about that. Basically the easiest way is to tell the "events" of WoW from Warcraft RTS perspective...
There are many things they need to ignore from WoW but there are also many storyelements in WoW they coud use to create an epic story for Warcraft IV, like the return of Deathwing, Artha's/LichKing/Ner'zhul would launch his attack against the world etc...Blizzard could easily take these storyelemts from WoW, change them little.The events of Warcraft IV dont need to follow exactly what "happened" in WoW and they just cant if they want to create anykind of storyline that makes sense.
And in this way those ppl who havent played WoW, but have played Warcraft RTS games could easily follow the storyline, whitout any confusion. Ofcourse from WoW players perspective the story wouldnt make any sense, but who cares? Most of the WoW players dont care about the story and the lore anyway, all they want to do is to waste their life getting some damn epixz sword or pants by either raiding or doing PvP endlessly.And nothing will last forever, not even WoW. Warcraft IV will be made someday

I quited wow the same day we downed Arthas. Was a long promise to myself and a long trip that reached its end.
In my opinion one of the greatest characters ever created in video games maybe comparable with great movie characters too. :))

The sad thing is that most of the WoW players dont know or even care the story behind Arthas or any of the storyline and lore of Warcraft. And really the lore, storyline, characters are the best things in Warcraft. Not some stupid PvP or instance raids to get some fucking "epic" helmets, pants or swords

Dude I care. Arthas being Lich King, Frostmourne really has a base of storyline in WOW. Especially Wrath of the Lich King. But the funny thing is, You get to see Illidan even though he's dead lol.

Indeed. They should make Warcraft IV and return Warcraft to it's RTS roots instead of just making these crappy WoW expansions that are raping the storyline and lore. I so wished the intro to WotLK would have been the intro of WC IV....the story would have continued right from where it ended in WC III: The Frozen Throne.
Some day we WILL see Warcraft IV and the story&lore will finally go on as it should. That day may be years or even a decade away but that day will come, trust me.

It will be really hard to go back to the RTS though, because WoW changed most of the original lore and landscape, and many of the major characters like Illidan and Kel'Thuzad are dead.

Yea, but that's why they really need to ignore most the stuff that "has happened" in WoW...I mean how they are supposed to tell the death of Illidan, Kel'thuzad and other major characters?...that some group of raiders killed them? no they need to ignore all that, they need these characters alive if they want to create anykind of story, you are right about that. Basically the easiest way is to tell the "events" of WoW from Warcraft RTS perspective...

There are many things they need to ignore from WoW but there are also many storyelements in WoW they coud use to create an epic story for Warcraft IV, like the return of Deathwing, Artha's/LichKing/Ner'zhul would launch his attack against the world etc...Blizzard could easily take these storyelemts from WoW, change them little.The events of Warcraft IV dont need to follow exactly what "happened" in WoW and they just cant if they want to create anykind of storyline that makes sense.

And in this way those ppl who havent played WoW, but have played Warcraft RTS games could easily follow the storyline, whitout any confusion. Ofcourse from WoW players perspective the story wouldnt make any sense, but who cares? Most of the WoW players dont care about the story and the lore anyway, all they want to do is to waste their life getting some damn epixz sword or pants by either raiding or doing PvP endlessly.And nothing will last forever, not even WoW. Warcraft IV will be made someday
