  • Quite possibly my FAVORITE scene in the entire series! Never forget the FIRST time I saw it, in the theatre. I about stood up from my seat and was like "Yeah! Kill that Bastard!"

  • @Simetra007 I was just about to say almost exactly that..

  • Woman power reigns all!

  • Okay, these are my favorite characters in the Lord of the Rings:

    Arwen

    Galadriel

    Eoywen

  • im really totally disappointed with this witch KING ... hes slow movement , just have one crappy chain flail....

  • Funny that Nazgul in kurdish means to show coyness or ''play hard to get''

  • This scene could be one of my favorite in the trilogy but:

    1) WitchKing speech was way too short;

    2) Eowyn should have told him at the beginning of the fight she was a woman: best part is when the WK is unsure about the prophecy.

    3) Her sword should disintegrate, she should fall instantly on ground with both her right and left arms broken (right arm "dead").

  • he destructed because he was so angry that she was'nt in the kitchen...

  • @Jordy1707 after the fight she knew she had to go home and collect the kids, take out the rubbish, hoover the floors and she hadnt done the shopping yet. he had it a-coming and she was well pissed off.

  • Anybody else notice the continuity error at 1:20 when she dodges? First view she is leaning back second she is leaning forward

  • lol at 1:36 you shouldve edited darth vaders saying "all to easy" when the WK spreads out his arms.

  • Admittedly, quite a lame way to go down.

  • She's the Sister of Eomer King, Niece of Theoden King, a Shield-Maiden of Rohan and Wife of Prince Faramir.

So less of the random woman bullshit, please.

  • thats right!

    GIRLS RULE!

  • Eowyn!....marry me!

  • Witchking in Mordor's hell:

I was fighting but then I took ...

    a sword to the face.

    ( a quasi-"knee on the arrow" joke )

  • 2:04 over and over again laugh my ass off

  • Comment removed

  • Theodens face: oh fuck, i dont wanna that.

  • Why he dont explode like Sauron :(?

  • @Krythavar becase he implodes;D

  • Could have been one of the coolest scenes in the trilogy. But, they made it into a bullshit stupid cheesy scene. First, no way would only 2 strikes to the fell beast's neck would cut it off. That's completely inaccurate. Second, they course had to prolong the Witch King's speech, even though he should have just instantly killed her, and then third of all, the worst part, that stupid cheesy line, "I am no man". No way should a simple female peasant kill one of the strongest beings in the series.

  • @SeanIzDaSexxx The scene in the book was a bit different and much more compelling, at least for me.

  • @SeanIzDaSexxx theres always some sperglord that goes off on a ridiculous rant about about minor details in a movie... a wizard did it, thats all you need to know

  • @SeanIzDaSexxx True that. Kinda kills the character when the ultimate badass of everything dies when he gets stabbed once by some random woman.

  • @SeanIzDaSexxx

Apparently, heads are "critical damages times 10" for witch kings. And she had "Lady's Wrath" and "Daughterly Vengeance" active, which made her faster and stronger.

  • @SeanIzDaSexxx

    Welll...

1 - In the books, she cuts off it's head in one stroke!;3

2 - In the books, they talk A LOT more than here in this scene - and Eowyn is not afraid, she stands there like a boss.

3 - The books revealing her sex to the Witch King happens before the fight begins (see 2). Merry's sword strike was what made it possible for the Witch King to be killed...

"Not by the hand of man will he fall".

His defeat there was a fulfillment of prophecy, he was fated to lose

  • It's a bit like the death of Macbeth, isn't it?

  • Conclusion:

    WOMEN WILL GET YOU KILLED!

  • @Swertzer

    LOL!

  • 1 objection...

In the books she was not afraid - she wanted to die in battle.

  • "Then Merry heard of all sounds in that hour the strangest. It seemed that Dernhelm laughed and the clear voice was like the ring of steel.

    - But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn I am, Éomund's daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you if you touch him!"

  • " - Begone, foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion! Leave the dead in peace!

    A cold voice answered:

    - Come not between the Nazgûl and his prey! Or he will not slay thee in thy turn. He will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shrivelled mind be left naked to the Lidless Eye.

A sword rang as it was drawn.

    - Do what you will; but I will hinder it if I may.

    - Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!"

  • It sounded like a baloon deflating when he died at 2:09.

  • you get pwned

  • when u see tht dragon like shadow and hear tht scream you know shits about to get real

  • Can you imagine what would happen if that flail actually made a direct hit. That thing was huge and probably the coolest i have ever seen.

  • does anyone see the guy with the ak-47 at 1:06?

  • @lolatmyfoot holy shit hahah ya

  • this totally proves that not all girls or princess have to be a damsel in distress. .

  • Nezgul: even when i die, i die in a way cooler than anyone else.

  • Well, he should have been in the kitchen...fixing the sink...She sure showed him his lesson.

  • damn, i busted a nut when she straight chopped the dragons head off with upmost gangsterness, lol. that shit was beautiful in the warrior sense of the word, lol.

  • 2:08 Eowyn wins...Fatality.

  • Witch King used Flair swing! Its not very effective..

Eowyn used face stab! Its Super effective..

  • 1:01

    - I'm *breaths deeply* pretty PISSED now!

  • 2:00 cheesiest part of the entire series.

  • @notamexican91 Best Part of the whole series.

  • Theoden's face when he sees the Nazgul coming is priceless.

  • The General Grievous of The Lord of the Rings

  • I bet that hurt...

  • Read the book to understand this scene better.

  • Eyowen: Neice to the king, decent swordsman skills, been in only one battle.

    VS

The Witch-King: The most powerful warrior after Sauron, the heir to saurons rule, has over 300 years of battlefield experience, conquered the northern lands and built an empire of Angmar.

Me (before seeing the battle): lol dumb bitch, shes dead *fuck that face*

Me (after seeing fight): well I can't say I didn't see that comeing...

  • @Mangaman1100 He would have kicked her ass if it wasn't for the hobbit stabing him in the back... Just like Boromir.. One of the greatest warriors of Gondor.. Still not much you can do when you get pierced by 3 arrows.

  • ...hobbits, orcs, elfs, dwarfs, wizards, balrogs.... but a WOMEN killing the witchking of angmar??? thats unrealistic...

  • he moves very slow:|

  • What!? Wait a minute....

Eowyn > Gandalf the Motherfu****g WHITE!

  • @castrokobe24 witch king was about to kick her ass. and at the book eowyn laughed at him so witch king's arrogance defeated himself and he went to his doom.

  • Eowyn: I will kill you if you tough him

Witch-King: WTF, back at Angmar times men had deeper voices, i guess they're all pussies now...

    NO MAN CAN KILL MEEEEEE

(eats a sword in the face)

shit.. Didn't know a sex change would work

  • One of the most powerful scenes produced in LOTR...I still thrill to he line," I am no Man!".

  • what a lame way to end the scene, having a midget kill the most badass villain in the film.

  • @IsaacH1273 Well if you read the appendix to the book you will know that the dagger Merry used was a special dagger specifically made to counter the witch king. I mean it is kinda convenient that the dagger Merry picked up in the first book is this magical dagger, but it is what it is.

  • I was so pissed the first time I saw the ridiculous death of my favourite character of the movie.. Killed by a woman...

  • someone should create king of nazgul vs darth vader

  • theoden at 0:08 ..."ah shit."

  • @AlmightyHiggey Crap, meant to say Merry

  • @AlmightyHiggey Pipin's sword was enchanted, when he stabbed the With King, it broke the seal that anchored him to the mortal realm. This left him shocked for a moment, during which Eowyn stabbed him.

  • I still don't understand why the Witch King is incapacitated by being stabbed in the back of the leg. What confuses me even more is the fact that he just sits there and gawks at Eowyn as she removes her helmet and says "I am no man!" then does NOTHING as she stabs him in the goddamn face.

  • @AlmightyHiggey perhaps he was too shocked to find that he was NOT fighting a man!!!!

  • It was merry who killed him in the book right?

  • @Petti13 Merry had an elven blade that weakened the Witch-King and stabbed him behind the knee, Eowyn did the finishing blow.

  • this was always the scariest scene for me. :( lol

  • My least favorite cinematic twist of all time, killing one of my favorite cinematic villians of all time. I are disappoint.

  • Is that mace from macies??

  • @rockachu3 Pfft, wow! xP

  • no wonder she won, i mean hes like 7000-8000 years old, shes only 26

  • I think I see a zit, let me pop it for you, whoop!

  • Dude! Where's my dragon!?

  • Hell has no fury like a woman scorned

  • I think that was his ego that was collapsing.

  • He use to be the king of the Nazguls but then he took a dagger in the knee

  • @kafkasister in jersey shore snookie is no woman though

  • Hurray for loopholes.

  • my roomate and i had an interesting debate. he claims that eowyn didn't kill the witch king, but it was merry. i of course disagree with this. yes merry wounded him badly but she clearly kills him. who wants to weigh in?!

  • @lesmizfanatic90 Each of them should have their 'share' of the kill,

since it wouldn't have been a success if Merry didn't pop in and stabbed him with

his Dagger of Westernesse (those things are capable of harming Nazgul and other wraiths), I'm not sure if it's true but I believe it also lifted off the Witch-king's 'magic' to stay invulnerable to mostly anything, but several things such as that dagger I mentioned weren't affected by it.

  • @lesmizfanatic90 Clearly she deals the last blow. Merry distracted him at the crucial time though. He has an assist.

  • @lesmizfanatic90 Merry injured him but she killed him. It's as simple as ABC.

  • at 0:07, he's like o ffs

  • i bet the witch king said " oh fuck"; right when she said " i am no man"

  • EPIC Women are EPIC

  • witch king: dammit they always go for the mount

  • By the way, Uma Thurman was first cast as Éowyn, but gave up the role because of pregnancy.

  • Gender: Female

    Weapon: Broadsword of lightning +5

    Soul Level: Its grovey baby

    QED

  • At 1:30 she is mentally saying "Shit shit shit!"

  • 0:07 "were fucked"

  • You see this is the example girls should have to fight for what they love and want

  • Pussy wins ;D

  • 0:04 There is no way my luck is this bad

    0:08 Oh hell no!

  • why cant all directors make more than one film without fucking up the sequels?

  • It is so powerful, that a halfling and a woman, which in JRRT's world was a sub species, killed a centuries old force for evil, but it would have been even more powerful if JRR's own dialogue between Eowyn and the Witch King had been used.

So begone all you foul Lords of Carrion,!

  • Ahahahaha, I'm not a man, BITCH!

  • look at these dumbasses arguing lol

  • So nazgul have no blood

  • @Eivyll no they dont... i mean they are dead kings, she stabbed him in the face so if he did have blood it probably would have been all over the camera

  • @XNiperTurtleX

Yeah, my mistake. I was referring to the fellbeast. She sliced its head off and--nothing!

  • One of the most awesome scenes in the entire franchise

  • That is one badass helmet. Where can I get that halloween costume?

  • @FlatBrooklynBush I made one by myself =p. Stuck cardboard together and spray painted it.

  • LOTR IS FOR YOU STUPİDS TO SATİSFY YOURSELVES. Yeah you got the message: the good always wins. But in reality things do not work out this way. Sauron and his team had every resource and oppurtunity to beat the camp of elves and humans. Why could not they do so in the book and the movie? Because they were portrayed as stupid. I say no!! The bad was not stupid and they deserved to win the battle. Same goes for Harry Potter too.

  • @babanufuk Yes well last time i checked no big battles were the bad wins IRL involved big flying screaming thingys and an army of dead folks :3

Also, ever heard of the battle of Narva? roughly 9000 swedish troops beat 35.000 russians :3

  • @Musikkingofthecookie I'm not talkin about the possibility that a larger army being defeat by a smaller army. History has many examples, agreed. But there were reasons for the failure of great powers. Usually the reason was not foolishness. However, when i watch the scene eowyn killing the witchking, it is obvious that the witchking is killed because of his lack of attention, accuracy and modesty. Otherwise, he would defintely smash eowyn like a fly.

  • @Musikkingofthecookie There is also a prophecy by Glorfindel that claimed no mortal can kill the Witch. So how is it possible for a little girl to kill him? Another example is the mouth of Sauron being killed by Aragon. For Christ sake, you cannot kill the mouth of Sauron with a single blow. He fights back, or he is smart enough to come with his guards. Definitely, everybody should respect Sauron and his crew. Dont be so attached to the concept of good created for surveillence of people.

  • @babanufuk I think you, my good sir, need to calm down before judging people after they reply to 1 of your comments. You seem to try to define my very sentience through a number of letters.

If you read the book you can see that the Mouth of sauron did not die from Aragon but retreated back into Mordor, and that the sword which Merry had was a barrow-blade, which was magic and cut the magic that held the Witch King ''living''.

  • @Musikkingofthecookie open your eyes. there is no total good or bad.

  • @babanufuk Obviously, Evil is a point of view ;3

Doesn't change the fact that one who cannot enjoy a good story because they are weighted down by reality might be considered intelligent even if they lack one of the human brains most advanced functions: Fantasy.

  • @Musikkingofthecookie I dont think you understand the political consequences of your enjoyment, your taste of evil and good. Im not the one to enlighten you, I give up. But please open your eyes...

  • @babanufuk the message is not the good always wins look at the amon hen, amon sul, the fall of arnor, or osgiliath the message is even the smallest thing can change the future

  • @babanufuk Frodo gave into temptation at the end, showing that EVIL always wins. The fact the ring got destroyed was merely luck

  • @Mandragara no dear. Your argument does not work. If frodo kept the ring became the new sauron or something like that, then i would believe that Evil always wins. But tolkien believed that people want a happy ending. people wanted someone to say them everything is ok. The fact that the ring got destroyed was not merely luck. It was Tolkien's choice so that we are satisfied with the good ending. The message is clear: the good always wins even if it is much weaker than the evil.

  • @babanufuk really!! are you still writing comments about this video no one agrees with you here and if you don't like LOTR that's your decision go comment on somethinh you like

  • @babanufuk and no you know nothing if frodo kept the ring he would never become a new sauron he would be a new gollum. And in the end of LOTR (I'm not talking about the trilogy) evil wins and look at history maybe in small time periods evil wins but in big time periods justice always wins. And in LOTR there are a lot of wars that evil won. Lke fall of arnor osgiliath minas morgul and a lot more

  • @lortacfan well, im expressing my ideas on something I am suspicious about. It is stupid to comment only on the videos you like to watch. By the way, ı enjoyed LOTR, this doesnt mean I should not criticize it at some points. I quote you: ""look at history maybe in small time periods evil wins but in big time periods justice always wins" Then you think that the world we are living in is just. I say it is full of injustice. If you dont see this, then there is no point talkin to you.open your eyes

  • @babanufuk Look at middle age of europe it was foul now it is ( I'm talking about a few years past) it is the center of power. 200 years ago america was foul now look at it. No one cares if you are depressive. And stop saying that damn open your eyes. My eyes are open enough to see no one agrees with you here and you are the most depressive person I've ever seen.

  • @lortacfan you orientalist rosebud. yeah europe and the US became powerful with the rise of capitalism in the 19th century. Yet, today how do they exercise their power? Invading Iraq and Afghanistan, killing many innocent civilians... The multinationalcompanies originated from the US and the European countries are benefiting from child labour in the underdeveloped regions of the world. And you call this justice? Is this the triumph of justice? Shame on you!! I say one more time: open your eyes

  • @babanufuk ddid you said me orientalist rosebud! I know a lot about east. You little wild ferfew. How do you know Iraq and Afghanistan may rise in 22th century like america did in 19th century. I know really a lot of east. I said in a LARGE time period the things now happening to east became to west once. And really you are the most depressive and eye obsessed man I have ever seen.

  • @lortacfan wtf are you talking about? The international competition between countries, or the hegemony of one country in the world system does not mean that world is a just place. I cannot fight against your ignorance. So I just stop here. I hope someone who is reading your comment may criticize you appropriately. I calling for those who are ready to condemn orientalist, imperialist thoughts of yours. But please, i beg you open your eyes.

  • @babanufuk my eyes are open you little eye obsessed troll. I'm not imperialist. But that does not mean I can do anything to save the east. And don't diverate the topic. Go explain your anti-colonial thoughts at some congress.

  • @babanufuk Well done! There's the idiot who thinks everyone will support him[ or hI'm an Indian and of the opinion that the Anglicist Education was the worst thing that happened to India

  • @betsgreenleaf off the point dear.

  • @babanufuk Yeah I know , just like you two were XD

  • @betsgreenleaf did you meant me?!

  • @lortacfan oh sorry, i meant him not you! that was honestly a mistake.....

don't worry about it - there always will be people who are blind; or merely stupid ; its best to ignore comments like that - they're just a waste of time. remember, empty vessels make more noise............

  • @betsgreenleaf that's true bro but you forgot to say "depressive" :D

  • @lortacfan lyk!!!! but its 'sis' actually, not 'bro' ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @betsgreenleaf ok sis and that vessel thing was good :D

  • @babanufuk you're off the point. We are talking about a film and a book go write comments about america's colonial movements at a video showing middle east. But not here no one wants your rubbish talkin'

  • @lortacfan films and books are products of a political culture. They do not come out of the blue. I just underline some political messages LOTR was giving. Everything is political even your rubbish understanding of entertainment.

  • @babanufuk maybe. But not everything is depressing as you show them. Tolkien wrote those at facade. You told LOTR was not political in the beginning. And no one wants to see your depressive smarty-pant comments

  • @babanufuk and I entertain here my understanding is not rubbish like your mischief thoughts. My entertaining is normal no one cares if yours is not

  • @Mandragara

    No

"golum may still have a part to play...."

    not luck, forshadowed prior

  • DONT BE SO DAMN STUPİD! LOTR was a failure, and the movie was a catastrophy. Tolkien has ruined what he had begun with Silmarillion. The witch king, the conquerer of many lands, was a master of war and a skillful strategician. He would not even spend time with a weak human soldier. He would kill him/her instantly. And he would not need to use his creature or his mace, his magic would be more than enough. I mean he is the witch, not an orc. LOTR is for you stupids to satisfy yourself.

  • @babanufuk yeah we understood you're copying and pasting a comment for all the witch king's videos but if you don't like LOTR that's your decision but everyone here is watching this video because they like LOTR. And mordor did not get beaten by a smaller army. İf the army of the dead did not arrived there Gondor's army would be beaten. The army of the dead was invincible. And history has a lot of examples a great army got beaten by smaller armies.

  • @lortacfan Dear sir, you completely misunderstood me and I dont know how I express myself better. But please open your eyes. When the witch king is killed you feel joy, feeling of triumph yet I feel injustice. This is the difference between us. Please, I beg you, open your eyes.

  • @babanufuk no one feels triumphed but when a villain dies you shouldn't feel injustice. He's dead. Over. And if eowyn was the one who died you should'd feel injustice. They did a fair fight and the witch king is dead. Witch King had his spells and Eowyn had Merry. An please stop saying open your eyes.

  • The witch - king showes his true power here

  • 1:51 Midget man to the rescue!

  • i still don't get how he could have been killed it is a wraith

  • @negainsectwhite

    un video clasico...

    un video chingon...

pero el mas perron es el Nazgul :D

  • "No man may hinder me." haha that's where he starts to go down. He boasts first but realizes his mistake later. The woman will crush the head of the serpent.

  • This scene was actually done a lot better in the movie than it was in the book. In the book, Eowyn was suicidal and laughed at the Witch-King. Here, she is clearly flat fucking terrified of him (at 1:12 she looks about ready to pee herself), but she still stands her ground to defend Theoden.

  • @2wingo maybe she was aware of the prophecy,

  • that is the most sexi helm than i ever seen haha xD

  • I know many people have said this before, but I find it completely idiotic that Eowyn could even possess the ability to harm the Witch King of Angmar. Sure, sure, it was in the prophecy and Merry hit him with his little ancient blade and whatever, but still... You have an invincible force of evil riding a Fell Beast. A mortal, regardless or male or female, chops off the beast's head in two swings, then murders an immortal, indestructible force of pure malice in one stab. Right.

  • @NRRRDLemur14 Exactly , this scene was really dissapointing me ... But its still a great movie :p

  • @NRRRDLemur14

I understand your point, but such things happen sometimes in myths and fairy tales.

  • @soge84x I know. I'm going to admit that most of my problem with the whole thing is just my bias, being that I strongly love the Nazgul and The Witch King of Angmar. But, I understand that I can't change it. At least it was a lot more apparent and detailed in the book, though.

  • Angmar: Thou fool! Know thee not the prophecy? No living man may hinder me!

Eowyn of Motherfucking Edoras: No living man am I! You look upon a woman! Eowyn is my name! You stand between me and my lord and kin. BEGONE, FOR LIVING OR FOUL UNDEAD, I WILL SMITE YOU IF YOU TOUCH HIM!

  • 0:07 Every time I see that part I imagine hime thinking "Awww shit..."

  • Urgh, stupid feminist joke.

  • Merry totally deserved the kill.

  • @Yossome Given the fact that he wouldn't even be there if it wasn't for Éowyn and that he could not kill the nazgul since he was a man... No, he did not deserve the kill. Saying otherwise is telling Tolkien he is wrong inside his own fiction.
