- although, I think you mean Bronte classics. Jane Eyre was written by Charlotte Bronte - and The Tenant of Wildfell hall by Anne Bronte. I think he is just perfect in these roles :) I"m glad I'm not the only one who thinks hes so great.

Actually, when I was reading the book at first, I usually (visually) imagined Heath Ledger, but it's Toby's playfulness that matches the character perfectly. Plus, the actress playing his mother is hilarious! I love how bossy she is.

Just got the DVD of Tenant, and must say that Toby Stephens is, as usual fantastic. His ability to do dialects is phenominal. He is so accomplished an actor. He could bring me a puppy anytime. In fact he could just bring me himself. What a gift that would be.

Grace Poole from JE plays Gilbert's mom, who you are seeing in this scene. And the love interest from Tenant is Crazy Aunt Reed in JE.

I hadn't realized until I looked it up that THREE different actors from Tenant are also in the 2006 Jane Eyre. Considering that the two books were written by sisters I think it's fitting, don't you?
