my opinion on the whole nero theory is based on two of my own theories. how each are linked i dont remember but heres the first. I think nero is really a demon, he never reacted throughout the entire game like "wtf with my arm!?" and his arm for some reason is like that all permanent. theory two sparda does all these weird rituals to seal his power within the demon realm and closing off hellgates, nero could fall in line somewhere in there which explains his strange power.

Wall of text lol but hell, capcom dont explain shit in their games. Vergil could have been leading Nero away from a life of sadness and corruption like himself. Sanctus said he has the blood of sparda so maybe Vergil has symphony for Nero and entered his arm.

And Vergil pretty much asks him in a way what he desires. Nero doesnt answer but he asks the same question back to Vergil. And Vergil replys 'Power,I need more power"when he had this dream the first time that could have been when his arm changed and when Vergils power was given to him.But capcom are the masters at not explaining ANYTHING about thats important about the characters. So no big deal lol. Hopefully this cleared some stuff up for you about nero.Hopefully Dmc 5 will clear it ALL up

So my conclusion is that Vergil was helping Nero through his Devil trigger and his arm giving him "More power" to protect Kyrie. He also said in the game "I will endure the exile(Become a demon)anything to PROTECT HER"

But the games explains hardly anything about this and the novel does. In the novel when this happens Nero remembers a dream about Vergil (Cont)

How to save two people? Vergil thought his weak human side was the reason he could not save his mother. So he hungered much more for power and it corrupted him. Heres something he said to Dante during their first fight in Dmc3.

*Keep this in mind, Dante does not want the full power of Sparda but Vergil does.*

"Foolishness Dante, Foolishness.Might controls everything, and WITHOUT STRENGTH YOU CANNOT PROTECT ANYTHING, let alone yourself" (Then he owns Dante)

Neros also a descendant of Spardas blood,but we dont know exactly how.Maybe sanctus knew this from his encounter with Vergil.Vergil thought his human form was his downfall in saving his mothers life,so he embraced his demon form for more power.Dante embraced his humans side became even more powerful than Vergil because Vergil lacked love his human side.(Which was also the downfall of Sanctus and Angelo Agnus according to Dante and Nero)But Vergil helped a descendant of spardas blood to save 2 p

Except Dante would be more like Spardas human form (Sparda had a human form as well as a demon form but his demom form is his main form, and he put his hair back so I would guess that he looked like Virgil, while cocky at the same time like Dante)

I swear there is a serious link between Dante Vergil and Nero.. A lot is hinted in the Dmc4 novel. Vergil also had encounters with Sanctus in the novel. And Vergil was talking about power and he said this

“I don’t mind that you pray to Sparda as a god, but do think clearly of this. One day I will surpass that god, and when that time comes,who will you worship? The one that was once god or the son who exceeded him.”

Vergil was always wanted to be more like Sparda than Dante

Sanctus(His Holiness) even says to Dante: "You did not expect a decendant of the blood of Sparda", And if that isnt enough he tells nero: "you have indeed inhereted the blood of Sparta."
