  • click like if this story made you stay AWAY from cocaine.

  • David Robinson went on to win the mvp award and is now considered one of the greatest centers in NBA history..now imagine wat Bias could have done!

  • 0:09 = clones

  • whats with all the nerds in the navy?

  • Bias had better hops, better jump shot, better skills than jordan in college. Who knows what would have happened if he would have blessed the NBA with his presence. I was glad and sad he passed. he would have killed my Lakers, boston would have owned the league for years to come.

  • @lovingvegas71 Actually, Jordan had a better vertical leap. Bias did have more range on his shot, but overall Jordan had more skill. Bias was great but still pretty raw until his Junior year. Jordan was 2 time national player of the year as a sophomore and a junior. Basically, Jordan was the better player.

  • @Majesticon Jordan better hang time but not better vertical leap, big difference

  • @Majesticon jordan was not a two-time college player of the year! In '83 he won the Sporting News POY and Ralph Sampson won EVERY other POY award in '83. Then jordan swept the POY awards in '84

  • @lovingvegas71 He was not better than MJ...ole dumbass nigga! MJ had beter skills...

  • @bsimp73 Len Bias vs Michael Jordan would've been a crazy matchup

  • Look at most of the players in the 80's. NBA-ready body has a different definition 25 years ago.

  • It is still sad to think about it today! The basketball world truly lost a superstar when Len died. Can you imagine how intense a Bulls/Celtics rivalry would have been? So so sad!

  • Perhaps the two best players in the country at the time

  • IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AIR BIAS, NOT AIR JORDAN.

  • @TheBAGOFPOOP ~ You are SO right! You can look at LB and see that swag in his walk just like Jordan had at NC. Funny enough, Bias and Jordan's game styles in college were damn near identical. Jordan was 6"6" and Bias was 6"8". God only knows what would have happened if they wound up on the same team. They would have won 12 Championships in a row.

  • @Baltimorehop NIKE AIR BIAS !

  • wait was len the guy who went 2nd overall and died a day later

  • @cwille971234 yeah thats him

  • R.I.P Len Bias

  • Len Bias was amazing. I remember one great sequence he had in an upset of UNC. He hit a 3 from the baseline, then stole the inbounds pass and did a 180 dunk.

If he only wouldn't have celebrating being drafted...

  • so sad this guy never played in the nba....

  • Forgot about guys like Pippen, Hill, Penny, McDyess, Eddie Jones, Michael Finley, Stackhouse, Augmon, Larry Johnson, Barkley, pack. Man, it just goes on forever.

  • How sick could the late 80's, early 90's been if Bias doesn't die, Sabonis joins the blazers right away and Ralph Sampson's career doesn't get cut way short due to excessive injuries? wow. And people want to talk about the athletes of today and how they're so much better? lol. MJ, Drexler, Nique, Harper, Bias (had he lived), Hakeem, Sampson, Robinson, Kemp, etc, etc.

  • nice quality for an old video

  • reggie lewis and len bias- 2 franchise players DEAD.... imagine if kobe or shaq died, and you'll begin to understand how the celtics were hurt

  • what if....

  • where is the 3 pointer

  • @adrianrocks1000 it was added in 1986

  • ha i could have been wearing Air Bias's right now lol

  • Man, if he had lived, the Celtics would have been the team of the early 90s. I think he would have took the load off of McHale and Bird and allowed them to rest more which maybe would have extended their careers a bit. McHale maybe wouldn't have had the bad feet and maybe Bird's back would have had time to heal better or at least not get worse. Parrish never got injured really hence the 20+ year career. Shame of a loss.

  • all the talent in the world-more athletic than jordan/shot just as good as jordan/just as motivated as jordan. but he sniffed cocain. idc how normal tht guy on 30 for 30 made it sound, its not weed, its COCAIN!

  • yeah david was a monster until shaq shove him out

get out of my way -- the shaq way

  • what could've been, never was... R.I.P. Len Bias

  • How in the hell did the Celtics get a draft pick that high right around the time they won a world title?

  • @daimon7

They got it in a trade.

  • @daimon7 Traded gerald henderson + cash to the sonics

  • Robinson & Bias, two contrasis in study. Robinson: First Team All American, Academic All American, Naval Academy Grad, NBA Hall Of Famer. Bias: First Team All American Too But That's Where The Similarities End; Played For A Corrupt Program (Maryland) And Coach (Lefty Drissel); Took His First And Last "Snort" (Allegedly) Of Cocaine, DEAD..

  • where the Hell is the 3 PT line ....

  • reggie lewis, larry bird, kevin mchale, and lenny bias. that's alot of forwards. who woulda hit the bench???

  • @edscottable Its called a rotation...Bias might not have started on that team his rookie year..but his impact would have been tremendous.

  • @MrSlik25 the key words are "would have". David proved to be tremendous force.

  • @Leah5821 Yeah the Admiral was great...He was my favorite growing up...A good guy...Len Bias had the potential to be as great a player as MJ...RIP He lost life tragically.

  • reggie lewis, larry bird, kevin mchale, and lenny bias. who woulda hit the bench???

  • I can only imagine the heights Mike and Lenny would have pushed each other to as rivals... The saddest event in the history of Maryland Basketball was the news of Bias' death hitting the airwaves that fateful day.

  • Celtics really got screwed with the deaths of Len Bias and Reggie Lewis, both incredibly talented players.

Nobody would've been able to stop em, imagine the Celtics with Bird, Walton, McHale, Parrish, Lewis, and Bias.

On a side note: fuck drugs and anyone who distributes them, fucking assholes, you ruin lives.

  • Fuck me, I can't escape Doug Collins' voice. How many leagues did this sack call games for?

  • Bias should've hung out with Robinson and learned how NOT to put shit up your nose.

  • @Christlovesanimals Excuse me if Im wrong but wasn't the 80s the decade that drug use went up. I mean all the kids were doing it back then. Can't really blame his generation was drugged up. at least most of them.

  • Len bias should have been our Jordan. The celtics would have won more titles than the lakers in the 80s & mid 90's.

  • @rejuva He might have been great...But there's only one Jordan...And that's that!

  • Cocaine is a hell of a drug! Rick James

  • The whole problem with the Bias/Jordan thing is that because of "Frosty"(Len's nickname) messin with drugs, all we have left with is having to defend his legacy to people who never saw him play in action or too ignorant to know any better. Jordan has college and his pro career. All we have of Bias is his college career. Bias tragedy altered the NBA power structure and College Sports. Celtics suffered for years and a stronger awareness for drug awareness in college took precedence

  • yeah.... and this happens just after bias went over to tell his friends that he's the same bias they know just before he went to nba. and his friends greeted him with coccaine..... ghetto niggas suck

  • Len Bias was an exceptional talent in his day and unfortunately for him, he decided to indulge in drugs with his loser friends. LB talents' would have been felt throughout the NBA had he played and to compare him to any player isn't fair. Its unfortunate that many times some althletes get caught up in all the media hype and their family and friends telling them what they want to hear rather than telling them (athlete) what is best. LB is missed by many, he could been one of the great ones...RIP

  • He just look weak to me. Doing drugs AFTER you get drafted? The guy is weak and would've been meager at best. Jordan had a structured upbringing with a father who was well disciplined and hard working. Jordan took what he learned from his father,...combined it with his skills from Chapel hill, and continued that drive and discipline on an NBA level. Len wouldn't have been anything close to MJ.

  • @NBAGOATS Len Bias was consider to be the bes player in the entire draft by many to say he looks weak is just ridiculous. Even LeBron looked weak before he went to the NBA just tall and skinny. Len was a great player

  • @SMajorTV He look physically gifted and strong. But his appearance mentally seems to be weak. His decision making proved it. His life was the result of a weak mind.

  • @SMajorTV Awesome, awesome player...

  • @SMajorTV How the hell did Lebron look weak before the NBA?? The reason he got picked 1 was beacause he was the most NBA ready player weve ever seen, skill and build wise... (kobe fan here)

  • @SMajorTV len bias was all muscle tho.

  • @NBAGOATS Now that I can agree with. You put it in a much more intelligent way he did a very stupid thing that cost him his life. Theres no need to do drugs the days after the celtics have drafted you. Or at all really they have no benificial purposes at all.

  • ADMIRAL!!!

  • Son of a bithchin drugs. God I hate them. They have taken more people from us than war. Kids please watch and learn...DRUGS get you no where in this life but in the grave. Learn from this and learn from Len. God rest your soul Len.

  • 0:07 what were the proclaimers doin there?

  • i dont know anything about bias.... but damn thats one hell of a name to have.

  • Cocaine is a hell of a drug

  • it's impossible to judge, how far he would have come in his pro career just by his college-achievements. We've seen dozens of brilliant college players who never quite fullfilled the promise in the NBA. And the fact that he was immature enough to do cocaine two days after the draft leads me to believe that his mindset wasn't quite perfect. It wasn't to be. Jordan became the goat, Bias died at 22 and no ifs and woulds can change that. Sad thing to happen, r.i.p.

  • @GlennGould77 - Too bad you missed Wilt. He was the goat.

MJ was part of dethroning the Pistons the worst NBA champs that I ever saw. MJ never got a title until Kareem retired. Jordan never played in a final against a HOF center.

I am a Maryland fan and I certainly liked Bias' college game over Jordan's. It is pretty hard to speculate or say that he'd have been better than Jordan. Jordan was a product of ESPN and the media. Look at NBA Dream Team: Who's your starting 5.

  • @42marisol1 If I dislike somebody or feel he is overrated, it's always easy to construct those sort of things he didn't do, didn't achieve, wasn't or was. Wilt is second on my personal all-time list, btw. He didn't have to play a HOF center in the finals, yeah, but he did in the conference finals, in Ewing. Where is the difference? What's it got to do with Kareem? The "worst NBA-champ ever" succeeded in defeating a team with Kareem...

  • Comment removed

  • @42marisol1 btw: I typed in the video you recommend me, I don't get any proper results...

  • @42marisol1 Ur seriously dumb if u call the bad boy pistons the worst nba champs ever cuz that team is one of the best defensive teams of all time. Also i'm sick to death of ppl sayin someone couldn't do this or that cuz they're tired of the media & espn hype. So what? Did Jordan ever ask the media or espn to hype em up? No they did that themselves, don't blame that on Jordan.

  • @42marisol1: I don't know what Kareem's retiring has to do with MJ winning a title.

  • damn shame

  • Damn! The scream he let out was nice!!!

  • the guys at :10 look fucking hilarious haha

  • He wouldn of been better than Jordan, that comment was ignorant to basketball you need to go look at some of Jordan's 85-86 and 86-87 game highlights. Jordan wasn even in his prime yet and still was better than Bias during those years.

  • Its great to see the Terrapins play the Midshipmen more just wish they played more often

  • HE SAW A LINE OF COKE UP ON TOP OF THE RIM, THATS WHY HE WOULD JUMP SO HIGH...

  • @210BR lmfao thats fucked up.

  • 0:08, I was like OMG :D

  • AIR BIAS UUHHH NO

  • @559LOSO he had reebok contract lol

  • Len Bias died for a reason. o.O

  • I actually think he would have made Jordan better...if you can imagine that. Man, the 90's would have been a lot better in the NBA if Bias hadn't died. And Boston would have been a powerhouse the whole time...certainly would have added a year or two to Bird and McHale's careers.

    R.I.P.

  • Where's the 3 points line?

  • @pietrogiudice They didn't have three pointers in the NCAA back then. The NBA didn't even have a three point line until 1979.

  • how about that david robinson... guy was a beast.

  • len bias the greatest player never to play. what a bunch of shit he was marginal at best.

  • 3 pointer yeah!! :D

    nice dunks!!

  • Some of these comments are ridiculous, he was amazing; but that doesn't mean Jordan would have no rings. Come on now

  • those of you douches who think len > jordan

    watch this: watch?v=y4u4MdSGSDo&feature=related

  • one of the best R.I.P

  • Im Bias toward Lenny, man if he would've lived, Joe and Isiah wouldn't had 2peat and Jordan would have 0 rings.

  • It's well-known that people in basketball at the time with first-hand knowledge of both Michael Jordan and Len Bias thought Bias was the better, more complete player. It's been generations since Bias' death so people especially the kids today have no idea who he was. Believe it or not, Bias was even more athletic than Jordan, with a higher vertical leap and spectacular dunks, besides a stellar shooting ability and soft touch. He was as competitive as Jordan and by most accounts, a better athlete

  • @BombJapan

You're getting carried away here. Even 2 decades after prime Jordan you would be hard pressed to find a handfull of players who are as athletic as him.

And Bias had better dunks than MJ? Are you kidding me? Tell me you are joking.

Even in college Jordan did his rock the cradle in a game.

And Jordan in college was just that, a college player. It wouldn't be fair to compare pro MJ to Bias since we don't know what could have been.

  • @BombJapan There have been alot of college basketball players better than Jordan, lots of highschool players way better than he was in highschool, thats why Jordan was drafted 3rd, but he continued to improve and developed in the GOAT, it's impossible to predict how good len bias would of been from watching him in college, it depends on how well he would improve/ work/ adjust to the higher level.

  • GRHS Len Bias was one of the best God gifted Ball players too ever play. Truth be told based on the way his life ended he wouldn't have scraped the surface of his potential.

  • he reminds me of pippen.

  • The best Forward in College Basketball against one of the Top 2 Centers in College Basketball

  • He wouldn't have been better than Jordan, you gu ys are crazy. Players do not always keep improving at huge rates when they get to the NBA. You can't assume he would've perfecly transitioned like MJ did. You also can't assume he'd never get injured, or that he'd have the good fortune of a high quality team throughout his career. He had talent, but it's lunacy to make the ridiculous claim that he would've been better than the GOAT.

  • @SinJackal Irony. Aren't you doing the same by "assuming"? That's a fanboy knee jerk reply. The reply should be "Maybe and maybe not better than Jordan." But based on his several footage, no doubt in my mind he would and had the potential to surpass MJ's game. Btw, there's only one GOAT, he played in NYC and was one of the best players to not play NBA due to his drug habit too.

  • @epics7 Rofl, shut the fuck up. It isn't a knee jerk reaction to "assume" that the greatest player of all time is better than some douche who never played a single NBA game and blew his career on drugs.

And you have completely destroyed your reputation by claiming someone to be the GOAT while having played 0 NBA games. You should be embarrassed.

  • wat happened to him

  • this most tragic premature deaths in the history of sports......I was such a huge fan of acc basketball back in the day, and LEN BIAS was a monster, he had MICHAEL JORDAN talent, and as much as I hated BOSTON CELTICS, if he would have had a chance to develop his talent at the pro level, nobody, NOBODY would have been able to deal with the CELTICS until their core players were well past their prime....

  • who the hell is len bass? never heard of him, i bet hes the one who posted this vid, trying to get shine off d-rob. i dont remember a len bass winning any MVP's and Championship rings. if he was good he'd be in the hall of fame like d-rob. and look at that cheap court, doesnt even have a 3pt line LMAO!! hahahaha

  • @JoughDough

The dude is considerd to be the greatest player in basketball never to play in the NBA. Some had him being better than Jordan overall he was better than Jordan in college. He was drafted by the boston Celtics but died 2 days later from Crack overdose. He is one of the Biggest "what ifs" in the history of sports. Many had him being maybe the greatest shooter ever in the NBA. To bad we will never know.

  • @scatman813 Probably right up there with Earl Manigault (Even Lou Al Cindor was amazed at Manigault's athleticism)

  • @trevinboy Earl, the REAL GOAT.

  • @scatman813 True. But it wasn't crack cocaine that killed him. It was cocaine.

  • @JoughDough Wow... Wikipedia is your friend, use it before you make stupid ass comments

  • @JoughDough You must be one of those guys that failed at history and more likely is young. Do a history reseach, this will confirm a lot his reputation. JoughDoughBoy.

  • my god son loves to wear jordan stuff but he has no idea that he would have been wearing bias, too bad. i was lucky enough to play a couple pick up games with him in middle school and i realized he took it light on us but a good memory

  • You can never tell how good a man could have been. Just because Bias ruled in college doesn't mean that he would have had 6 NBA titles, Olympic gold, World Championship golds, scoring titles, MVP awards etc etc etc... He might have been injured as a rookie or like Sam Bowie, be the biggest bust of all time.

  • I thnk ppl forget how Jordan torched the bigger stronger Bias in college. Like I said before check the stats if you want to argue. Plus bias couldn't handle the rock like jordan and wouldv been torched by nba forwards. He wasn't a great defender ppl.

  • @bobbymarsh1 dont u think he would have improved when he reaches the NBA??

  • @chubble101 And where's the logic at in that reply. Is it MJ fanboy denial. MJ improved, so why wouldn't he. There must be a lot of young people on here with short tension span.

  • @epics7 aahhm dude.. i think u are agreeing wid me.. that bias would have improved if he got the chance in the NBA...

  • The Celtics won 67 games the year that they had Bias as their first overall pick. You have to wonder how many more games they would have won the next year with Bias. Plus with Bird having to play fewer minutes it would have extended Larry's career longer and allowed him to conserve his body. Bias looks like a bigger Jordan with more muscle and size....What a a shame

  • @fr6313 yeah that would have been something....i think with mchale and bird mentoring him bias would have been guaranteed stardom......with bias, the celtics would have probably been able to stave off the pistons run, and would have handed the eastern tourch to the bulls in 91'. Bird would have probably collected atleast 2 more rings.

  • Can't tell who your responding to, but I think you're responding to lilbeckham80 and commenting that Len Bias did nothing in the NBA.

That wouldn't be surprising considering Bias DIED before he ever played a single NBA game.

    Apologies if I misunderstood.

  • @maxedwell

You tell em Max!!! Hey man, I missed your reply completely a couple months ago. Ya had some good points but we hit that impasse where we both believe what we do about the league. We obviously have both been following it too long to be swayed from our opinions.

  • There wasn't 3 pointer??

  • added that in 87

changed the course of college basketball... and made dominant big man less important

  • bias' was definitely better! go terps!

  • In college? Maybe, but probably not. Where was he in the NBA? Nowhere.

  • Comment removed

  • @MyPersonalVendetta oh sorry i meant the dunk. but yeah he died

  • @MyPersonalVendetta oh he would've been amazing in the NBA, but he made a dumb choice and decided to try drugs and it killed him on his first try. he had just been drafted as the #2 overall pick in the draft by the defending champion celtics, and then died partying 2 days later

  • jordan fans defend mike to the death. bias was the real deal. i guarantee most making these comments didnt follow bias. they know about jordan, but they speaking on someone they didnt know. mentally, how can you say no one matched jordan? starks got under his skin and so did dumars. i cant say what bias would or wouldnt be. and neither can you.

  • @MrPhillyrick1

But we can say what he wasn't...an NBA player....so to state he might have been as good Jordan is moot.

No disrespect to Len whom I consider one of the greatest college players ever.

  • No one knows what would have happened if Bias would not have made the grave mistake but all I know is when they played each other Jordan had 3 starters on his team that went to the NBA and Bias had NONE and his team still won!

  • MJ's mental game was far more advanced then Bias' would have ever been. No one will ever have a mental game like Jordan. Saying that Bias would have been better then Jordan is like saying Jordan wouldn't have won those 6 titles because of one man that died. Do you really belive that?

  • we cant say he would have been better than jordan those drugs would have taken their cours on him

  • Let's set the record straight. Bias had tried drugs ONE time. He had no history of drug abuse. Unfortunately he had a reaction that proved to be fatal!

  • im sorry how do you know he did dugs ONLY ONCE

  • The tox report performed to determined the cause of death showed that he had no previous traces of drugs in his system. If you know anything about anatomy drugs leave trace amounts in your system of a looooooooooong time. Check it out for yourself.

  • man... bias woulda been better then jordan. we would be wearin some bias, instead of air jordans haha

  • yeah :(

  • Uh ... no.

  • @bmoreraves27

You dont know shit about basketball

  • @bmoreraves27 not true bias didnt even play the same position as jordan, it's like comparing dwight howard to rajon rondo; you cant because the positions they played were so different.

  • @ilikelotsofvidoes Irrelevant. Different position or not, his game was the very similar which showed that he was versatile and could play the guard position. Julius Erving played forward most of his life but played guard on and off.

  • @bmoreraves27 well we do not wear bias. we wear jordans. And the reason why is because he is a dumb cokehead. And even if he wasnt a cokehead...it would still be hard for him to pass Jordan. But what a waste of talent.

  • @cad6352 What a waste of reply from you. You must've came out ass first from the womb. People make mistakes, this cost him his life. As far as him surpassing Jordan, that is possible and Jordan is not god nor which makes him not immortal. No one knows what Len's game would be like. But I'll take the people that played with him word before I take the words of fanboys that have sissy fits when MJ compare and contrast come up.

  • @epics7 crazy to compare Bias to Jordan and think he would have been better. don't disrespect Jordan the greatest player ever.

  • @epics7 First of all...I never said Bias couldn't surpass Jordan as greatest. I said it would be hard. Which we can all agree to that. And how was it a waste of reply? I said what a waste of talent which it definitely was. He should have never been doing coke in the first place and it cost him his life. People shouldn't say...IF he would have lived he would have been the greatest player ever because we will never know what he could have been because he made a stupid mistake.

  • @bmoreraves27 yeahh but jordan wasnt stupid enough to sniff cocain , bias was amazing though - RIP BIAS

  • @NBA34Celtics Maybe Jordan sniffed coke all the time in college...how do you know?

  • @tittyj2020 coz jordan was too dedicated to basketball , as you can see by watching him play

  • @NBA34Celtics we will never know if mike ever sniffed cocaine, my friend. it was the eighties. everyone did. thank god to nike that it didn't befall mike as well.

  • @NBA34Celtics

You don't know that Jordan didn't use cocaine. He may have. He certainly has done his share of partying. Most people don't die from using cocaine one time. Bias was just unfortunate.

  • Bias and Bird. The world lost what would have been the NBA's greatest combo. Most experts of that time believed Bias was better than Jordan.

  • @FavreianVengeance yeahh definatily if bias wouldent of passed , there could be more that 17 hanging from the garden right now

  • @NBA34Celtics

"yeahh definatily if bias wouldent of passed , there could be more that 17 hanging from the garden right now"

AYE - IT TOTALLY BLOWS. I mean any time a team loses a number 2 overall that's rough. But this was just totally catostrophic. A dynasty will likely never have a number 2 overall and with a better player than Jordan on the table and the best ever already on their team. It was the perfect storm for Celtics fans or rather Lakers fans.

  • @FavreianVengeance Yeah. Bobby Knight was one...

  • @NBA34Celtics Bet you didn't know that Len Bias's younger brother was killed in A shooting to did you? it's no coincidence it's just fate

  • @Cooley96 no i actually never knew that , and yeah true

  • @Cooley96 There's no such thing as fate. Shit happens.

  • @TheChoice264 Fate exist regardless I wont debate that. You're saying the same thing as me anyway just using synonyms.

  • @NBA34Celtics How do you know he didnt sniff coke? Because he never got caught sniffing coke? I never got caught either,, does that mean I never sniffed coke?

  • @bmoreraves27

That woulda been a nice collectors item for shoe collectors. Its funny you mention AIR JORDAN when David Robinsons Air Force 180 Commanders are like the HOLY GRAIL of collecting. RARE

  • how and y did he die?

  • overdosed on cocaine

  • Jesus, college courts were so clean back in those days...

  • Look at all the mothafuckin white boys at 0:09

    LOOOOL

  • hahahhah word

  • does anyone have the whole game if so could you upload it please

  • 0:15 - FUCK your 2/3 zone! UNNGH!

  • LMAO! i was thinking the same thing!!

  • Bias would have been "Bird" to Jordan's "Magic". Bias had that 'it' factor and would have made a great rival to Jordan. He had it all...

  • Its just a shame he passed away. The Bird-Johnson era was great and he would have complimented it very well. RIP Len

  • robinson wins 4 to 3! lol

  • LOL

  • I go back and forth on Bias and have for over 20 yrs but ultimately I feel this way great hops could jump outta the gym great jump shot could hit from 18 all day super talent ... But name one player in the NBA who you would say that about then add coke into the conversation... Bias died of a coke overdose and sadly it wasn't his first time using... look up online the article the day the innocence died... As great a player as Bias was it wouldn't of been enough IMO

  • YES IT WAS!

  • The OFFICIAL tox reports and subsequent ones showed absolutely no traces of previous drug usage.
