  • Well that was a nice interpretation. Used to be one of my favourites to play. Very fun.

  • the skull moves cuz of the pressure caused by his fingeres playing the piano, causing vibration which moves the skull...

  • @MsDanteAce Bah! Technical explanation. Your just saying that 'cause you don't want to let on to the REAL reason!

  • @crobc1 Laugh out loud. What exactly is the REAL reason?

  • I agree with poorclarelover

  • Wth is there a skull in the first place

  • @ngth90 Because I placed it there... ;)

  • u made

  • @poorclarelover Nope!:)

  • u made lots of mistakes!!!!1

  • 0:03 Did that skull just move?! O.o

Arabesque is now known as Song of the Dead! :-O

  • Omg, ur so smooth.

I feel like a fail watching this.

  • @TheSamFreen Never feel like a fail :) Glad you like it!

  • @thomandy LOOL, NP.

I hae one question, the piano sheet I have, is when the second chorus is repeated, the left hand does the chorus only.

    Is there a difference really?

  • @TheSamFreen I have no idea.. I only looked at the sheets in my book, and I follow it 100%.. But there is usually many different arrangements of pieces, especially classical music and music for the piano -

  • Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Is it just me or the skull moved in the beginning?

  • LOVE IT :)

  • The best recording of this on Youtube!

Now I want to learn it too, just like everybody from comments earlier :)

  • I'm having trouble with 0:24-0:26..Any Tips??

  • Je l'eus joué en audition :p elle est vraiment MAGNIFIQUE !!

    very good :)

  • ZOMG I am currently learning this piece but this here sound completely different. I play much slower (cannot do it faster) and it sounds awful. I didn't know this etude could actually sound nice.

  • This piece is exceedingly simple but beautiful. This took me only a couple of days to master the notes and have memorized, but to actually play it with expression is a little harder. Great job! It's sounds great and your speed is perfect! By the way, the skull is kind of creepy....

  • @silvercat00a Hi, yes that is true :) Hope it wasnt to creepy.. At the time I sort of associated mummies, skulls etc with the word Arabesque and thought it would fit :) Thanks btw!!

  • I just now mastered the beginning.

  • this was really easy :) im going to play it for my next performance

  • 0:03 - Is it me or did that skull just move? O.o

  • i want to learn this song so bad

  • @kuoc360 Then learn it :) Its only one page, and even repeats some! :)

  • @thomandy just learned it :)

  • @thomandy i got it. it took awhile though :)

  • @kuoc360 Ah, very good! :)

  • I love this song

  • Is there any particular reason why you don't do much with the dynamics of this? My piano teacher is really emphasizing it and I was just wondering why you chose not to do much with that aspect.

  • @NagemCombat I think the dynamical aspect of this is good enough. You notice when I play more F or less F at places if you listen for it etc, the reason its harder to express dynamics through youtube is that youtubes processing will try to even out audio, especially where there is minor differences. So the difference in F and FF might be almost impossible to separate! :)

  • Nice :) I'm learning this pice. I'm not as fast as u! ;)

  • sweet

  • awesome :D

I like this song not too fast :)

    exactly like you played it.

I will watch your video many times and play it by myself :D :D

  • @TheTwistedgirl Hi, thanks! Im glad you like it. And I agree, not to fast is good for this piece! :) Good luck on playing it!

  • hmm have i been playing this song wrong??? i always played it faster than this...

  • The skull has moved to hear better the piece u.u

  • pretty good! can u watch my video of it? i play it a bit faster

  • Very good. I was looking here for fine performance of Arabesque, and sadly, most of them are poor. But this one is really good!

  • Can you please help me learn this piece. For the left hand all the chords i can do. Although with the g major chprd my hand hurts a bit. And as for my right hand my speed isn't up to par. Any advice?

  • why does the skull move at the begining of the video?

  • @purpleemokitties Its just because it wasnt stable, and when I started playing the movement made it move! :)

  • @purpleemokitties haha its funny though, it makes it look kind of creepy :)

  • About what grade level would you say this is?

  • It is really good (the playing)

  • You should have played it a little bit harder. But u still is one of the greatest. xD

  • mozart would be bach's and beethoven's number one composer of all time...

    in terms of genius

    love thomas's legere in playing

    bravo

    douglas

  • wow that was scary lol your skull moved and you didnt touch it.

    0:03

  • i was scared too when I realized it moved.

  • i hav the same name and piano as you

    trying to learn this song

    now i have a kawai bs10

but the paddle on the right has a strange ka chak song when i realease it ....

    izzit normal or something?

    pls help me

  • Lovely, 5 stars! Burgmuller is an underrated composer, I find. A good work does not have to be technically challenging. I have always enjoyed playing Haydn's sonatas more than Beethoven's, for example.

  • Nice Job! So fun and fast! Which is god-like =].

  • Very nice! Your keyboard sounds really good!

  • nice performance :) but i was expecting something longer after 1 month without any uploads :)

  • Thanks. Yeah, I do got a 4min video with pictures of the nature as well, uploaded 2 days after this one :) The reason for the less uploads is I started a new job, as well as lots of work on my First Impromptu, at a level 8+ .. + working on the Revolutionary etude. Any piece, leveled 4-5 that you would recommend by Chopin that you want to hear? :) Maybe if I like it, I can learn it as a side-piece :)

  • You mean ABRSM grade 4-5 ? If you mean that i would be willing to hear Chopin's Waltz 64 No.2 in C# minor, that one should be around level 4-5 i belive :)

So you are composing an Impromtu, good luck to you ! =)

  • I will start to learn it, I really like it, so hopefully I will have to time to dedicate so I can play it in not to distant future :)

Im done composing it now, only some days ago :) Its very hard, so I have to practice a lot, hope to play it at a good level before Christmas :)

  • or you upload eric satie's gymnopedie's, lere gymnopedie is grade 5 as far as i can remember... =)

  • I like very Burgmüller Etudes

I like too Progres is very fine!

    or Ballade!

  • Very well played !

  • it's perfect! well done Thomas! 5*****

  • Hey Thomas, nice performance! :) You got the sheet music from the Yamaha music book, right? :D Well done, as always. Hahaha I like the skull too. :P

  • beautiful piano playing and piece !!! bravo !!*****

  • Yeah, a special style as usual, the moving skull was fun.

Is it a real skull? Where'd you get it from? :)

  • Its actually a savings skull. You put money on it :)

I bought it for about 10$ on Grand Canaria 10 years a go :)

  • Ahha, cool :) Looks great.

You always find something to make your videos funny, I like that :)

  • the skull moves!!! =O

  • Hehe :) Yeah, I got lucky to nail that recording where it moved :) hehe

  • Very nicely done, Thomas!

  • PS! I can also see this piece in a pirate-setting... :) and it also reminds me about "In the hall of the mountain king" by Edvard Grieg - I think that's the title and composer, at least... :)

  • Great performance, Thomas :) it fits well for halloween, doesn't it ? :)

    ...the skull surely does... mwahaha!

Can I ask, and know, how you your top-down view ? :)

    5 *****

  • Although your not satisfied, it sounds really good to , thanks

  • It seems like an excellent performance, Thomas! Can't imagine what you find unsatisfactory in any degree! It felt like 2 minutes! Much more substantial than the elapsed time would prove!

    Have a great week. ~Terry

  • the skull ads a nice touch :-)

  • Great !

    I enjoyed it!

    5*****

  • Just beautiful dear. You are a great piano player, I have told you that before:)

    5 stars*

    have a nice day.

    Love Carina XXX

  • MMM.... Sweet)) I have such a song in my keyboard default MIDI list...

  • I like it! it's very rhytmic and the performance is so good!

  • sweet, this piece is great! and to think I posted a comment saying you haven't put up anything lately just yesterday! :)

  • Thanks :) Yeah, that's why I decided to post this today :)

  • Hehe :) Yeah, its a great piece :) I would actually go so far as to call it a minor etude :) It has actually helped my 5finger scale development a lot :) Especially for the three week left hand fingers :)
