i had to start this act with no ammo and a new game..

(if your having trouble getting ammo try this)-

stand up and let ONE guy see you.. not alert just caution... he will go up on your cliff thingy and take camo in the back... he'll go to the end of the cliff then stun knife him... drag him back then wake him up and aim at him with any gun.. search him he will drop 30 anist ammo.. knock him out.. then tranq the other people.. hope this helped if you understood..

By default, the Militia will register you as an enemy if they spot you in The Boss Extreme.

Did they see you as an ally because of all the PMC troopers you knocked out at the start of the video?

@epicsnail12345 Yo sure? as far as I know only the stealth and the bandanna are special itens. I think I've seen some walkthrough of the BBE with the use of th solar gun, but I'm not sure.

@FellipeSNK It may count but my cousin played through and at one time he used the solar gun and at the end it said he used a special item, but he might have accidently put on the infinite ammo bandana by accident... Still not too sure, shoulda mentioned that in the first comment.

@epicsnail12345 I've checked the guide and it says only the bandanna and the stealth camo are special itens. The solar gun can be used and, in fact, it helps a lot in some parts. Anyway I gave up using it in this part of the act 2 cos it's too damn noisy and the guards have Chuck Norris eyes in the extreme level, I always get an alert ;D

@Phazmi let the PMC aim or attack one of the rebels before you cqc him. Then they realize he was an enemy. I think, i haven't actually tried, but a little bird told me that works in a similar scenario.

How and the hell do you get the sniper rifle at the beginning of act 2 in the first part. And also there is a missle launcher in a fenced in area right after the cut scene with the weapon launderer. It is in that fenced in area by the base.

Im going to kill the rebels. I do everything perfect. Yet they still flip out. So I have to constantly switch between the SA Costume then Camo. As soon as I take the Costume off, they still flip. Im going insane.

Right at the uhh start to this level, there is tranq ammo in a brown barn at the back left of this area (face the guys you have to shoot, back left of there.) I get this b/c I worry about running out of it. I thinkt here is a sniper rifle in there too.

Why is it that I can't use the dot sight when I switch from auto aim using the MK 2 pistol? It'll use the iron sights, but im terrible using that method of aiming. Someone please tell me how I can switch to using the dot sight.

f*ck me. i just cant get thru this. i do everything like u within 1min and like +50% of the time the rebels think im enemy even though i cqc the guy coming out in front of their eyes. also the enemies feel like they move differently on the plateau and sometimes the rebels get there before me and cause caution or some shyte. could it be because i play on eu version lol?

@Phazmi The only time yet that I have played that the rebles thought i was enemy was when i messed up and shot them in the beginning. When you have to tranq the guards specifically and i miss a shot and they go on alert and i start shooting.

I just finished your first few videos doing act 1. Then I found out that you can't buy more nonlethal ammo on extreme. Apparently I should have done a stock take before finishing my last game and monitored my ammo carefully. I didn't. I thought I was following your walk-through to the letter, but I may have been a little liberal with the ammo.

Going into Act 2 I have 26x Mk.2, 14x Mosin, 9x Stuns, 1x Chaffs, 10x Smokes, 10x Mags, 1x SG Mine, 3x SG Satch. Will that be enough to go on with?

@ghettosmurfph Actually, the MGS (tank) you face against while destroying that gate counts as a kill. I know because I beat that section, and I did destroy it and it showed as one kill. I restarted that part of the level and DIDN'T destroy it..no kill at all.

You might've wanted to mention that there is some tranquilizer ammo at this part. The house the guy runs out of at 0:40, if you go to building down to what looks like a barn, there is some tranq ammo along the right side.

@chargerfighter1 My answer to you: the Metal Camo. :D Halves all damage to health and psyche, making it very useful. Even on The Boss Extreme, what would be 3 shots from the HTs' P90's would become around 7-8 with Metal Camo on, with the exception of their grenade launchers. Hope this helps.

@chargerfighter1 Use Metal Camo only for boss fights, as you're already in Alert phase to begin with on those parts. For everything else, I'd use default, Corpse, or even Haven Camo. Also, for traveling, Snake Camo works wonders, as it eliminates stress from packing too much weight, and no mistakes while low on Psyche.

@chargerfighter1 Play Dead (lay down completely by laying on your stomach or back and holding Triangle) while wearing this camo, and ANY detection, beit Haven Troopers, PMCs, or even Gekko, would either report you dead or ignore you completely. Haven Camo tops it, still, though.

@chargerfighter1 It's essentially useful during Act 4 and 5. Turning the valve door before Screaming Mantis with Haven Camo on actually counts as if you were standing still. I know because while I was turning it, a Gekko turned to look at me, but its aiming reticle passed right over me without setting off an alarm.

I tried it beginning of Act 2, and I like the Metal Camo a bit more. And they always hear me or bump me from nowhere, so Metal Camo helps me survive the ensuing kick-ass firefight.

@flexer122 while I haven't done the Big Boss Emblem run, any alert caused by anything will count as a failure, regardless of what weapon you are using. However, if you're using the Mk2, unless you're seen, you'll only get a caution if you miss. This is true for all silenced weapons, but obviously you can't use non-tranq ammo for Big Boss Emblem runs.

yeap. . . .in the big boss run the pause menu is'nt pause at all. . . . the total time includes pauses . . .cut scenes. . .and probably everything u saw. . . . so dont pause the game thinking it'll stop the clock

What helped me a lot was to exit the game to the main menu (of MGS4 not the PS3 menu) after I made every save on the checkpoints to rest a bit. Thats the only way you can actually Pause the game. By accesing SAVE under themenu and pressing Go back to Main menu. I made a 35:55 time for act 1 and this is my first attempt, Usualy I take about 1:20:00 in that act when I'm playing Rambo-style (killing whoever gets in your way & help rebells)

yes and just search whatever you can I recommend you get solar gun first because is a good knock out ammo that saves you the trouble of searching the enemy for items and it uses sunlight to recharge
