  • I'm a christian, and I'm uncomfortable with the implication that hypocrisy is okay :(

  • @tallpaulhutch75 im an atheist and im uncomfortable with all christian cause they suck balls

  • @ChePikachu - clever work with the trolling there mate...

  • @tallpaulhutch75 thanks - sometimes its hard but i try to troll as good as i can

  • @ChePikachu Actually, I was being sarcastic.

(Wait a sec, that's probably a form of hypocrisy. Oh well... it's better than feeding the trolls)

  • @tallpaulhutch75 oh you were being sarcastic - i totally did not notice that at all ( thats sarcasm as well)

  • Honestly, these christians are hypocrits about their religion, and YOU RAISE THEM TO BE THAT WAY!!!!!!!!!! It's your fault the christian church is filled with liars, cheaters, monarchists (aka the POPE). Plus there is no proof Jesus was powerful, and no proof of god even existing. So I will simply stick to Athiesm, and reject all rediculous and irrational attempts that you may have, but I will gladly shoot them down for ya!

  • Name one aspect where Jesus was more moral then a common person.

  • @gulbirk Well, there was the time he showed mercy to the woman caught in adultery (unlike the crowd around him who thought she should be stoned). There was the forgiveness he showed to the people who betrayed him. And there was the consciously self-sacrificial nature of his death. Seems pretty above average to me.

  • @tallpaulhutch75 No not at all. Because the people he defended in those cases, are disliked by the others for compleatly irrational reasons.

  • @gulbirk Your question was "more moral than a common person" not "more moral than a hypothetically rational person". Standing up for someone in the face of an angry lynch mob isn't common. Forgiving friends who stab you in the back and people who torture you isn't common. Consenting to death for the sake of other people isn't common.

  • @tallpaulhutch75 You are leaving out all the relevant parts. Which is who he is defending. Its not special to defend people if they havent done anything that isnt actually wrong, because they shouldnt be hated in the first place. So when people are hated for irrational reasons, standing up for them doesnt make him more moral then the average person.

  • Apologies @gulbirk, I assumed that the story was well known - it's in John chapter 8 (google it). Are you saying that the only really moral context for defending people is when you're defending people who HAVE done something wrong? Amnesty International would be surprised to hear that. I'm also surprised that you think that arguing with a lynch mob is so commonplace and easy, I'm sure you'd do the same thing in a situation like that at the drop of a hat ;)

  • @gulbirk And consenting to death for the sake of other people? (You know - the whole "dying on the cross" thing). Not special either?

  • The church is full of the unregenerate, the open door policy has loaded the pews with the wicked.

  • I can think of several better places for hypocrites to be. Soup kitchens, hospitals, habitat for humanity sites, homeless shelters.

    Donating time and energy.

See, that's what the hypocrisy is: Christians talking, not acting. Praying, not helping. Get off your butts.

The priest walks past, the Levite walks past, but the Samaritan helps. Don't be the priest. Be the Samaritan. Your fellow man will respect you more.

  • @imperator332 there are plenty of christians that help out people in need and some that dont i wouldnt catergorize them all in one grouping

  • Short, sweet, and to the point.

  • Those who object to the hypocrites in the church object for a good reason, but their error is they are judging Yahweh and Yeshua by the existence of evil people. We don't need hypocritical pastors excusing hypocrisy. We need them to repent and to call other's to repentance. A judgment by fire is due our nation, and it is due to the reprobates in our "churches." If you do not live a new life, make no mistake, you have no new life. You must repent and be born again!

  • I did not say I am perfect, but I am not a hypocrite. Jesus was a friend of sinners, but he constantly warned hypocrites, called them a brood of vipers, declared they would not enter the kingdom of heaven, and drove the money changers out of the temple with a whip He fashioned Himself. I am a servant of Yahweh, and as such Yeshua is faithful to finish what He began in me. This sincere faith and seeking of Christ has led to me seeking to obey the Torah. Jesus saves us from a bondage to sin!

  • More lame false teaching. Hypocrites are not even believers and the church isn't for sinners it's for saints. THe saints should be making disciples on their own, not leaving it to the church to do. This false teacher only excuses hypocrites because they make him good money and he numbers among them. His way is error. Read the new testament and see if you find his church in the mix, it certainly won't be in either of Pauls letters to the chorinthians.

  • @JTMMobileMechanic then you are perfect? if your not then your a sinner, you forget the reason Jesus died, he died for us the sinners. Yes its not an excuse to sin but when we do we are forgiven through Christ.

  • What about Christians who "gang stalk" harass, and electronically monitor "targeted individuals"? Christians who are brainwashed into believing that they are doing "God"s will" by making people whom they suspect are mentally ill, lose their self esteem, their family, any hope of having a family themselves, and virtually their lives. Is that a Christian thing to do? NO! Yet Christians involved in agencies such as "Weed and Seed" and Citizen Corps think so!

  • The church is an alibi, hey look I'm Christian, I can't be all that bad....

  • i agree.

i am a christian, i'm not perfect, so exo-facto I'm a hypocrit. EVERYONE is. Just like everyone is a sinner

    jesus saves <3

  • it not that, its when they talk a bunch of shit to you, and then say afterwards, "oh, and by the way, im a christian"

  • this is 100% right.

hell, christians borrow their holidays (even christmas) from pagans. if you don't believe me, look it up.

  • @RevMansonify

Some person who really had no idea what they were talking about claimed that Christmas was His birthday. That person is at fault, not the other Christians. They are just misinformed.

  • andrewthatswho. Christians are the most hypocritical people you can find on this earth. You protect offenders from justice. You ignore the victims that are in pain. You don't understand their anger and resentments. I am grateful that I am an Atheist. If I was a Christian, I would be suicidal.

  • I can agree with you on Christians being hypocritical. I've had my times when I say something and do the opposite. Everyone has.

But. I don't protect offenders from justice and ignore those in pain. I have my opinions, and you have yours.

I'm not trying to make an enemy out of you or anything. I'm just saying. Please don't take this the wrong way.

  • @bnbalenda

Please don't make stereotypes. True, there are many hypocrites, but there are decent people.

  • You're talking rubbish! Religion is based on hypocrisy and phonyness

  • Brother, I want to shout and Say "Hallelujah"! Too many times Sinners want to point the accusing finger at the Believer and point out their faults.

On this point I want to go on record and say this:

    It is His Sinlessness!

2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

    Also:

2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

  • i think a burning church would be a better place.

  • That's very caring of you.

  • I have the gasolin the question is do you have the lighter? O_o

  • All historical evidence said he never existed.

  • @aquafina827

Wow, really? So what if we have no evidence? The wood on the cross has rotted away by now. To them he was a sinner, falsely claiming to be the son of God, so why would they care?

  • Then fix these people to not go the hypacritical route, it can be done. That's why I don't go to church because it does not help with the inner issues of anyone. People go to church just to show they go to church. As for the preacher, they preach of subjects that is irrevalent to the everyday dealing of life.

  • I agree if you're talking 'bout the average Jimmy Swaggart hillbilly type of preacher, but not if you listen to Cash Luna (he's just a tool God uses, don't think I'm giving him any type of praise). He only preaches about the dealing of everyday life, plus he attacks no one except...hypocritical cristians. You can find him in English on Godtube.

  • Amen
