Many many intersections in NJ need changes to prevent this from happening. I have been witness to some horrible accidents at intersections like this. Have to keep vigilant always!
Maybe room for improvement. Though it is possible that they were in the 'queue' and are supposed to keep going. Also, it looks like a heavy traffic time and they 'wanted' to keep moving. Anyways, they stop as soon as the cars from the green start to move. But still, I agree that this maybe an area for improvement. Thank you.
There are two reasons. One is just that there is no RED arrow light. Just a solid green and the drivers do not want to wait a full cycle to go.
there there is this. This could be a funeral. St., Mary's on the Lake is on the corner.
Even if the light turned red the Funeral has the right of way due to respect of the dearly departed.
