LOVE THIS SONG! Whenever I visit Rawhide Western town in Arizona, I always make tons of requests for this song with every artist that plays there even though they have played it a zillion times.
Lol, everytime i hear this, it takes me back to when i was three, watching this with my grandad and i would grab a broom, pretend i was on a horse and start moving my arm up and down in whipping motions lol.... I did it to bonanza aswell ahahaha
@saruseptember what do you think is best bonanza or rawhide? i have watched bonanza once but i dont know whether or not i should start watching rawhide aswell
I think you should give Rawhide a try. It's my favourite out of the two. They move about alot more then they do in Bonanza. It's basically about the adventures they have meeting people on the trail and solving whatever problem they presented or were confronting. Some of the storylines are ...deep.
.......Good Work! the still shot bring back such good memories of my early teens (I was 13 when this was on and we always got it in color as the NBC signal had to be adapted to the other networks... thus the 'peacock' and we had and NBC TV.... Thank you so much MIZ D, Sincerely, Daniel carroll Sunset Beach, CA 90742
Keep em moving though the streams are swollen, though their disproving, through rain wind and weather. Sorry we can't use you Matt McGloin ever think of a Assistant manager for McDonald's? They need you.
Keep typing, typing, typing. Though your thumbs are swollen, keep those downloads going, rawhiiiide. Through trolls, Chris Chan and Mudkips, hell bent for DA. Wishing Steve Jobs was still aliiiive.
I will confess to never seeing this show (young guy here!), but this song is SO epic that it makes me wish I was the right generation to appreciate it properly. See, old things can still be awesome!
I arranged this piece for a musical performance at school, it was amazing :D
But the best part is we didnt have a bass guitar at the time, so we got one of our cello players to turn her cello on the side and play the bass guitar part like that :)
I cant think of a single show on TV today that has an intro like this or any other show from this period in time. Where did all the brilliant TV show intro theme tunes disappear to? who made them unfashionable, thats what I want to know. Bring em back!!! :-))
this is the theme song for the boat called Rawhide (its a fishing tournament boat) and boy when you hear this song you know you are in trouble because Rawhide is on its way
Frankie Laine was a real vocalist -- I always loved this theme, remember as a very young kid and it's stayed with me. Watching reruns years later on a retro station I see why I've always liked Clint Eastwood with his handsome self.
@metrostationluffer Being a great Frankie Laine fan I have this as the ringtone on my mobile. It draws my attention when it starts more than the normal selection does. Cheers,Ernie
I grew up watching this along with all the other westerns and I really liked it! But, although I liked Clint Eastwood, I actually liked Eric Fleming better. Something about him turned me on! His confident, trail boss way was sexy! I heard that he tragically drowned while filming somewhere in brazil or peru? I don't know that to be a fact. Anyone know what happened to him?
We have The Blues Brothers version at home but now I can play this version- the one John Belushi & I grew up with- with my adult children for the first time! Thank you for the great sound & your super video.
